  • Thxs this is my first year doing soft ball Iam like scared to like hit my head on the bat and look retarded my friends are on my softball team soo they pushed me to do softball soon excited thxs again!!

  • Well said coach/

  • @klean...this is not the wrong stance. The bat isn't wrapped around the helmet. The knob of the bat is cocked towards the catcher creating a whip action. Most good hitters are in this stance. Google any good pro hitter at this point...or even look at the MLB logo. This stance and load is very impressive actually.

  • @valleysportsu Indeed. Watch the FRONT elbow. This stance sets up a plane to bring the front elbow and bat through the plane of the pitch. A very well coach, or natural, hitter.

  • this is the wrong stance!!!!!!!! her bat is wrapped around her helmet!!! the bat is supposed to be like 4 inches from her ear

  • @klean4x4 What you're worried about is actually the hands getting higher than the back shoulder. When this batter gets to her ready, or toe touch, her hands are NOT in front or above(less but still important) than her back shoulder. The bat is the instrument. Pay more attention to the body mechanics of your hitters and they will succeed more. :)

  • I have a problem of dropping my hands when I'm hitting. Its hard to explain. Its like I drop my hands then when I'm hitting I pull them up. That OR, I will bend back and swing. I don't do this in practice. But when I'm playing this happend its not because I'm scared, I got over that a long time ago. It just happends...

  • @KortneysAccount You may be trying to hard. Relax and don't try to "kill it"(hit a homer) as we used to say 20 years ago. You may also notice your front elbow lifting in that scenario, that relates to your hands dropping. Your "core", or abdominal muscles, are over reacting to your brain wanting to over acheive. If I had to guess you are under 18 and thus haven't fully appreciated your mental atune-ness. Even though I'm sure you very much want to. My advice? Just chill.

  • @KortneysAccount Also, try to develop your desired power from your thighs and legs... into your core... then use your arms, wrists and hands in a more technical sense. talk to a hitting coach about that. Have fun!
