@NigelLX200 This is a fairly complex technique, using software and methods I developed myself... While the details are a bit of a trade secret, it basically involves adding the individual still frame images together, one at a time, before making them all into video. It's very time consuming but usually worth the effort =) Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
Glad you liked it :-) I write/develop many of my own programs and methods. This was shot with a digital still camera, resulting in hundreds of still photos. Those photos were made into video. There are several freeware programs out there to do this. For the videos with star trails, I use a proprietary compositing technique that I developed myself to add the photos together. It's a long and complicated process but worth the effort :-)
Amazing...

i wonder how these time lapses would look in the event of an earthquake
ElectroNeonKillz 5 months ago 3
Probably wouldn't be too exciting since earthquakes are over so quickly... I think realtime seismic activity is much more interesiting :-)

@JcmdiStockFootage
It would be very exciting because it would record the seismic activity it a most incredible way.

I kind-of explained it in the StarGazer 3 details. It's a complicated process and takes lots of time. :-)
