The reason USC dominates the rose bowl is because it is a home game for them. If they had to travel cross country and play there bowls away from home it would be different. Where the game is played does matter and the big ten teams are disadvanteged in bowl games because they have to travel so much more than the teams they play. Also the Pac-10 blows, and Pete Carol has 1 national title not 2. LSU won the title game they were national champs. It was decided on the field, Fuck the AP pole.

I agree...the Rose bowl is only 11 miles away from them. I drive longer than that to get to work. A big flaw in the system is that the bowl games are played in fair-good weather situations. The Big Ten recruits to play against Big Ten opponents(shitty weather towards the end). I would like to see these big time fancy pants bullshit offenses play in 20 degree weather with two inches of snow on the ground. Weather plays a very big factor in any sport.
