  • Have you heard of the Scandinavian weapon called the Atgeir? Sounds similar to what you fellows have there.

  • I think I am going to start Forging up and making some of those for my group. Excellent video.

  • Could you tell me how long that shaft is or how long the shafts where for those weapons found? Also about how long is the blade?

  • The shafts are the standard spear length for Early Middle Ages - about 6 to 7 feet. The head is around the same length as most contemporary spearheads, being around a foot long, blade and socket.

  • Very interesting. Not just the regular reenactment "Handbagging" but research of the use of weapons. Very nice indeed.
