John Inman came here , to Norfolk, Virginia, in 1996 to participate in our PBS station's pledge drive, and he did a personal appearance as well. When the MC for the evening said
"Is John ready? Mr. Inman, are you free?",
John poked his head through the curtains and chimed:
"I'm free!"
It brought the house down, and the affection in that auditorium for JOhn and the show were just heart warming!
A phenomenal comic actor, that's for sure. Mr. Humphries was a classic character. I bought the entire series of AYBS as a DVD box set a couple of years ago, and I can watch those classic episodes anytime I want. Thanks for all the laughs John. It got me through some rough times in my life. Enjoy your eternal rest in God's kingdom.
Never understood why this fine gentleman and actor never had his teeth done
