Well.. they are making effort to have a new rise as they just released a new viewer, which is designed to be a much more convenient to use. Still it has some problems, but they get fixed no doubt. My experience in sl has only became more and more exciting as I learn new things and meet new people and see new places. One of the greatest new features is that you are able to impose web pages on built surfaces, yesterday we hanged together with friends in sl and watched some youtube videos. Itwasgr8

Im doing a project for the British council, they made an island,(in second life) that has historical replicas of the UK (The stone hedge and nessy and other stuff) and only people who participate in this can acces the island. I have a meeting today, and they are going to teach us how to navigate and stuff. Should be a lot of fun. But i wont get addicted because its only 2 weeks long.

I only go on SL because I enjoy creating things and building houses, land etc... I find it difficult to find friends and when I do they become disinterested after a while and I never hear from them again, second life is the only medium I find this in....
I think Second Life may be fun in moderate amounts... I tried it a few times but I couldn't figure out the controls or menus, and I found it to be incredibly laggy even though my computer's quite fast...

I have a business in second life where I sell clothing I make., Making a business in second life can be hard because you have to learn to build, you have to set up a shop and then do some advertizing, you have to have ALOT of inventory or at least very quality pieces before you have a big enough customer base to make a profit, but you CAN run a business in it.

You CAN make money but Let me tell you it is VERY VERY rare for someone to make a whole lot off of your items. I make items because I just like to create things.. and I have sold my Items.. I make about 1$ a week from my items. Granted.. I do not have many Items.. because I spend more time in real life than in second life, but according to most people I have come across that sell items they create its not something to rely on.. So if your goin in expecting to make money GOOD luck with that ^.^
ive made over 10k and spent alot of it i know people with about 100k on there and another guy with no telling how much maybe around 200-300k its not that hard

I have been truly lucky in SL. I not only have a world wide venue to show my photography but I have also met the love of my life. It isn't just about SecondLife anymore, this is Real Life for us. SL is just a vehicle for us to interact with each other and friends. She lives in Scotland and I live here in the US. I spent 2 glorious weeks there this summer and she will be coming here this spring. I plan on moving over there in a year and a half. Look for my video "A Second Life Romance."
It is naive to think that one can meet the right person for them in their own backyard. And I don't think I have ever had an experience with meeting girls in a park. And since when did meeting someone in a bar become a viable and respectable option either? LOL. Alcohol induced lack of judgment comes to mind when I think of that. SOME ONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION FOR ME.
Can i sign up for second life, and create products, then get paid real money for it? Like say i make a poster, and sold it for very cheap?

Yes you can. I have a business in second life where I sell clothing I make., Making a business in second life can be hard because you have to learn to build, you have to set up a shop and then do some advertizing, you have to have ALOT of inventory or at least very quality pieces before you have a big enough customer base to make a profit, but you CAN run a business in it.

You CAN make money but Let me tell you it is VERY VERY rare for someone to make a whole lot off of your items. I make items because I just like to create things.. and I have sold my Items.. I make about 1$ a week from my items. Granted.. I do not have many Items.. because I spend more time in real life than in second life, but according to most people I have come across that sell items they create its not something to rely on.. So if your goin in expecting to make money GOOD luck with that ^.^

ive made over 10k and spent alot of it i know people with about 100k on there and another guy with no telling how much maybe around 200-300k its not that hard

well obviously it depends on how good you are at it and what it is you are selling. I do not sell anything that has anything to do with sex.. I just sell Raver stuff. And are you talking USD$ or Linden$ and within what kind of time frame? cause 300 some USD (100kL)a month even is still not enough to make a complete living on second life alone.. and for people just starting out in selling stuff its hard.. I have seen some testimonials.. I am not saying its impossible.. its just not very likely.

I have to admit, Second Life seems fun to me who is kind of an anti socialist and doesn't express himself. Any players here, can you answer some questions:
Can you change the game money into real money like she said in 2:33?
What's the difference between basic accounts and paid accounts?
How hard is it to build other worlds or places?
Lastly, I've seen a game called All Points Bulletin (APB) with the best customization I know of. Do you know if the customization is similar?

I have been truly lucky in SL. I not only have a world wide venue to show my photography but I have also met the love of my life. It isn't just about SecondLife anymore, this is Real Life for us. SL is just a vehicle for us to interact with each other and friends. She lives in Scotland and I live here in the US. I spent 2 glorious weeks there this summer and she will be coming here this spring. I plan on moving over there in a year and a half. Look for my video "A Second Life Romance."

It is naive to think that one can meet the right person for them in their own backyard. And I don't think I have ever had an experience with meeting girls in a park. And since when did meeting someone in a bar become a viable and respectable option either? LOL. Alcohol induced lack of judgment comes to mind when I think of that. Besides, I don't really frequent bars enough to go "Looking" for love in them.

i have second life but a little while ago idk wut happend but i wuz just chillin and my group invited me to a rave club so i went and i had nothing to do and i sat down at the bar and just like seconds later i got signed off by an administator and i can't go on untill 7:26 PST. it's like i just died :(. i died in my second life.

its not for everyone, its not likeone of those spoon fed games where you depend on developers to make it fun. In SL you make your own fun and use your imagination, something a lot of people lack these days.

I played SL over the summer... At first it was weird as hell, and even more coonfusing, but once I figured out just how to operate in that strange world, I found it to be the most addictive thing I'd ever come across... To all you nay-sayers.. You should really try it out before you judge it.. And for the man in the wheelchair, I'd never thought that SL could help out people in ways such as this.. I truly love this "game"..

I have been on SL for a few months now and work with a band that plays concerts in SL. I shoot the "live" Vid and edit and make Music Videos. The music scene is alive and well there.

i have been on second life for 2 and a half years now, its not a boring place, what they show there is only part of it, you can learn alot about 3d imaging and building in 3d, learn scripting so you can use those skills in the "real world" have relationships there as i have done, i met my husband in secondlife, now im happily married, so dont say sl is boring, like life, its what you make it ;)

also i just noticed, your desktop looks like my school issued desktop, while it had decent speed if your hard drive is loaded down, i'd suggest you keep your computer stuff onto a remote server, to prevent lag, while the video cards tend to crash, they dont have alot of memory, but they can take a beating before they fail
