@guy. i also think Richey is the most beautiful man ever! & i mean EVER! he had a natural beauty & the beauty inside of him, poured out onto the outside as well. he wore his feelings on his sleeves which is also beautiful cause he was so expressive about his feelings & thoughts. & he was so damn smart which also made him very attractive too. i think Richey might have been too beautiful & too smart for this world. Great upload. The song at the end isnt off Generation Terrorists though, its the original version of You Love Us which the Manics released on Heavenly before they got a major deal. It was re released on the b side of Revol in 94 (ish).

And yes, I do feel like an internet pedant for that. :(

There was a rumour at the time that he'd had a breakdown before they went to tour America, and been quietly admitted to a private mental health clinic. Though if that were true, he'd presumably be better by now?

hi KerryPanda, you know, i heard that rumour too. i often wonder if perhaps Richey's family knew where he was (at least at some point in time - maybe even now?) & just decided to protect him & respect his privacy by not telling the public - knowing if the public found out, Richey's life would be even worse than how it was when (and why) he left in the first place.

Richey did an interview with the NME whilst in hospital.He was painfully gaunt and shaved his hair off. I remember as I bought the issue back then! The Manics did Glastonbury that summer without him.

What freaks me out is that 2 days ago I saw this guy who looked SO much like Richey! I never saw this guy B4, so when I did see him, I couldn't stop staring, tho I was trying not to. I don't think it was really Richey, but I've never seen anyone that looked THAT much like him, so it kinda shocked me. The guy was gorgeous, of course, around the same height, same facial structure, super skinny in tight pants & a t-shirt & wearing pointy boots, like the kind Richey wore during GT. Really weird!

I mean, he's still complains of boredom and isolation and he's still got scars on his arms, but he seems more light-hearted. I agree in hoping Richey is in a better place - and have noticed too how the early interviews he does seem at times happy and spirited, (whihc is why the interview I have here of him w/ Nicky playing put-put is my fave, cause Richey seems like he's having fun and being playful) but as the years go by, you can see how much more sad and depressed he was getting.
