  • Flying v I made for rocking out, not smooth jazz

  • Kurt Cobain??

  • name of the song plz

  • ._.

  • Both guitars are awesome for different genres of music, yet, your setup sucks. I can't even understand the difference between guitars. I am not sure if it is because bad recording or is it your setup? Well this kinda music is good with single coil in middle with a low gain distortion tone, or overdrive.

  • rockrapper

  • They are both excellent for their own respective sounds which best fit the SONG! To think a V is better (or worse) that a Strat is totally moronic. For this bluesy thing your doing, the Strat single coils cut through cleaner but, let's say you wanted a darker/dirtier sound, better grab a 496/500 Gibson for the job. Both great. Anyone who says otherwise has never cut an album in a legitimate studio where nuances matter. Not some basement with GarageBand or Fruityloops on their moms old computer!

  • le voy mas a la fender

  • the flying v is the best guitar ever!!! and good point those are the 2 guitars hendrix is famous for using but when hendrix played them i do think he sounded better on a strat

  • You don't deserve those guitars.

  • @RobotFollower I hate when people think that people who aren't the best in the world are required to have shitty guitars. Having great guitars while learning can actually motivate you to become better. When he becomes the most kickass player in the world, he will still have these guitars, remember.

  • @RobotFollower And btw, he's not bad. It's just the recording quality that is bad

  • I have 8 guitars but only 2 are real quality that is my Gibson Flying V and Gibson Les Paul,, I have an LTD 400 Explorer which is pretty good but I never tried the Gibson version,, Fender is my next objective.......

  • @ATobaccoChewingPig If I Didn't Capitalize Every Word Then It Wouldn't Have Gotten Your Attention!!!

  • I Had Both A Gibson Flying V And A USA Fender Stratocaster!!! Guess Which One I Traded Off... The Fender!!! Fender Has The Clean Tone, But Gibson Has The BALLS!!!

  • Rich kid :p

  • fender is the best!!!!!!

  • both are great guitars,

dont need to be one or the other...

i have a fender strat from 1993, but i will soon buy a gibson flying v

  • id say put one in a spare room for 10 years and focus harmonising with one of them then pick the other one and it will be well good. they are too good guitars to be switching the whole time

  • FENDER FTW

  • sounds the same to me, i like them both.

  • he looks a tinny bit like Kurt Cobain

  • I like the sounds of both guitars. The only thing that keeps me from getting a Flying V is the balance issue and the shape of the guitar. It feels so uncomfortable for me to play a Flying V and when I let go of the guitar the neck practically hits me in the face.

  • its too costly

  • fuckin metal duuuuude

    flying v pwns

  • Great job!!!! I prefer the Strat. But that is just me ;)

  • Killer job buddy! I think I like the fatter sound of the Flying V better. But maybe I'm partial, I got a Flying V myself!

  • The Gibson sounded mushy, Strat sounded cleaner and brighter.

  • you cannot compare those guitar on w/c is better, they;re both AWESOME, they just have their own genre.

  • in case of styke i prefer to gibson but if we are talking about the sound, i prefer to fender ...,

fender is the best for country and rock n roll..

  • I think the V had cleaner/warmer sound... the fender was a bit cold

  • I'm not finished with you quite yet... "Why does he have a Fender Strat AND a Gibson Flying V???? Why can't I have HIS guitars??? Answer: A) LIFE is unfair. B) Santa hates you. C) You're a broke-dick dog. D) While the kid in the video was working, you were on your sister. (or his parents bought them for him cause he got good grades in grammer class) E) ALL of the above. OR; F) ... FUCK YOU!!!! All the best pinhead, Jeff

  • Dude, I am now asking myself how old you are, because you propbably have a good time fucking out forteen year old kids, so get yourself a job or a life or something, and I agree with you life is unfair. You sound like life didn't work out for you. Maybe it wil be smarter to kill you instead of me. By the way, don't bash my english, I am from Holland.

  • @ARVNpistola313 that doesnt make sense

  • @TarbleSauce

    Your*

  • Oh, and I'm fucking goddamned sure that I SMOKE YOU on the fucking guitar, I will upload some videos.

    Peace, Luuk

  • G) Hes rich and spoiled =P

    just kidding.

Its kind of unfair comparing those 2 guitars in that way, the flying v is more of a heavy rock/metal guitar and tthe strat is more of a blues guitar, of course right here the strat is going to sound better but try to play some metallica/ozzy oscourne on those 2 and the flying v will come out the winner.

2 different guitars for 2 different styles, no point in comparing them in the stregths of the other =P

  • why did people thumbs down on this, its completely true...these 2 guitars are meant for different things.

  • luukjuh49- You cap on this kid for not playing to YOUR standards? Yngwie can SMOKE me and I'm quite certain that I could SMOKE you... if not on a guitar then at a spelling B. Lastly, if you think that owning two guitars is expensive then that's most likely because you can't get a real job with your "limited" education. You more than likely bitch at the fact that the gas station charges .50 cents for air when you need to top off the tires on your Huffy. Kill yourself, Respectfully, Jeff.

  • sounds like fuckin crap

  • its a personal choise , if you lie to play or to listen to blues, jazz, funk, etc, you are obviously going to prefer fender. But if you like calssical rock, heavy metal and stuff like that, you would like every gibson better than any fender.

  • I love playing metal and rock but I prefer a Stratocaster over any gibson guitar

  • strat definitley

  • every one has to start somewhere. personally i like the gibsons more but fenders have my respect

  • i agree

  • strat

  • every one choose differently

  • the flying v sounds better, although it would help if you sounded better lmao

  • luukjuh49 Yhis guy cant play a damn guitar, why does he have a fender strat and a gibson flying v. That's fuckin expensive.. Dude, go spend your money on something else

    right!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yhis guy cant play a damn guitar, why does he have a fender strat and a gibson flying v. That's fuckin expensive.. Dude, go spend your money on something else

  • Hendrix played both strats and V's

  • really cause ive only ever seen him on a strat..

  • a lot of his recording and some live performances were done on Gibson's. Its rumored that he used a Gibson Les Paul junior on the recording of voodoo chile. On some of his other recordings he uses his white Gibson SG custom. Gibson also makes a Jimi Hendrix signature Flying v, it has the same psychedelic paint job that Hendrix hand painted on his.

  • Burning of the midnight lamp promo

  • @xxTIGERSHARKxx You want a medal for that discovery?

  • So??? Hendrix Has Absolutely Nothing To Do With This Video!!!

  • Hey, buddy. Maybe he has those two because he's passionate about playing guitars and he wants to have them?

  • I love the Flying V™

  • Strat

  • gibson whoops fenders ass.

  • I play Fender, therefore I pick the Strat.

  • V can be metal and blues. There's a reason for that... lol Where do ya think metal evolved from? But yeah, V all the way.

  • Like every gibson, don't you know the reason why?

    Humbuckers my friend.

  • i love both

fenders better for that song tho =]

  • strat e cooler than Flying V when it comes to clean,

Put some distortion on both, and see the flying V kick some fender ass :D

  • I think Strat is better

  • If you only play music like this i should take the fender

  • the strat sounds better

  • GIBSON PWNS ALL OTHERS

  • i think the fender is better for that kind of music it has a better tone

  • I like that you've made both guitars horrendously out of tune. It makes it easier to concentrate on the sound.

  • V is for Victorious!

  • oh my god ive never been faced with a decision like this both guitars are amesome to amazing proportions...i....i...idk

  • good job ...i like...the strat..but the v looks cooler =P woot 50,000th view

  • Hmm... I kinda like that V's sound better. It's, erm... more focused or something...

  • Stratocaster wins (better lows as jackcarpenter says) but both guitars are fantastic.

  • strat wins but i luv both guitars

  • I think the Fender sounds better. The lows seem to be more pronounced. The sound is more full because the Gibson has mostly highs. The Fender seems to have better distortion. However it could be because of pickups and settings. The Fender seems to have a larger body for vibrating, resonating and sustaining the lows better. Visually the Gibson is better.

  • stratocaster obv.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........zzzzzzzzzzzz

  • strato!!

  • The winner is!!!

    Gibson!!!!

    xd

  • id have the strat any day

  • I'd have both any day.

The fender has a brighter sound, and the V has a soulful sound.

  • shut up dude i would rather die than have a fender

  • Yeah, I rather live and play the guitar that GUITAR GODS LIKE HENDRIX have chosen as their own.

  • ur a dumbass fenders r great guitars

  • I've always viewed the strat, as a blues guitar. As for the V, It seems to do well in both rock & blues catagorys, but the strat seems to be more favorable in the classic rock songs, than the more complex songs of today. I think both of them are really good, but this is just my standing opinion, upon many other opinions.

  • i hate strats, they don't feel good when playing, the curved fretboard is really uncomfortable, my first guitar was a strat and i hated it. When i got my first V was a completely different feel, way better, surpisingly comfy to play either stand or sitted, solos flow like nothing, and for the stage nothing beats a V, maybe a explorer but you can see the point lol, is a big guitar that you can throw your whole body on it, way more powerfull than fenders, i stay with the V for life.

  • The V looks better, the Strat sounds better ;)

  • Gibson

  • fuck u

  • 2 of my fave guitars

  • haz to be the strat

  • For me, it has to be the strat. It feels nice when I play it. I have never played a Flying V before. Anyone know how it feels to play?

  • its surprisingly comfortable. the neck isnt quite as thick as the les paul, and it doesnt dive down when you let go of it. I was close to buying an epiphone V, but i went for a tele instead :)

  • good choice

    (i wouldve murdered u if u got a epi v over a tele)

  • yeah i already have a Dean with humbuckers, and i wanted something with single coils. its a fantastic value.

  • like hell it is;)

i find epis to be very cheap which is why its better to wait the extra 6 months to get the real thing instead of a cheaper version

also u can do almost anything with a tele

so its a pretty fucking amazing guitar:D

  • i think epiphone sg custom better than tele

  • well you are gay

    epis are shit quality

    i have a squier bullet(60$)

and my friend has an epi lespaul and SG (together 1200$)

and id pick my guitar over his anyday

  • i have american telecaster an 4 epiphones an 2 gibsons and 2 american strats.i have 3 slash signature les paul and sg custom.that epiphone sounds almost as good a as gibson les paul standard but it beats telecaster all the way.and if you compare 60$ squier to 500$ epiphone it is obvius that you ar one dumfuck

  • and why does it matter if 2 epiphones are 1200$?

  • hes just saying that they are a lot more money. i would personally agree that a tele (for me) is better than any gibson. for my taste in music and personal feelings the tele feels and sounds better than gibson but its obvious you like the gibson models so just chill out. you dont have to get pissed.

  • also btw

next time do something abit more complicated because strat obviousely beats v in blues do something like metal than thatll be harder to choose

  • You can't compare a V and a Strat in Metal, pretty much the only metal band that uses Strats is Iron Maiden. V wins no doubt.

This was a better comparison than I thought, but clearly the Strat beats V in bluesy cleans.

Compare them in Overdriven Rock, they both excel in that category.

  • oh u would be surprised:)

my band plays grundge which is a mix of metal and punk

    and i mainly use a strat:D

it actually gives off an amazing heavy metal sound using distortion

  • Fender guitars such as Strats, Mustangs, and Jaguars are excellent for grunge.

  • wow ur pretty sad:D

  • That the finish has been faded, or applied thinly to give it a vintage look.

  • the strat

  • how wrong is this i saved 1 whole fucking year and bought me a clasic candy abbple red strat and this 13 your old has not one but 2 very cool guitars ??? WTF am i praying to the wrong ppl ???

  • lmao!

  • It's called rich parents and being a spoiled kid.

    Lucky bastard.

  • yes

he is....he doesnt play as well as many other kids who dont have a cool guitar

and this doork just beacuse is rich has 2 beautifull gitars

  • fender wins

  • I generally like Gibsons more than Fenders but that Strat sounds so much better! especially for that bluesy stuff. awesome.

  • Yeah me 2

  • I like both guitars but i'd have to say the strat definitely kicks the V's ass! its the same with my dads v.

  • I love my gibson, but for that sorta jive, the strat owns.

  • Strat.

  • Stratocaster baby!!!!

  • tocas como mi aguela estan mas chidas las

    Dean o las Jakson

  • so... u plays really bad, guy!

    continue!

  • why the fuck would anyone ever play that shit on a flying v, flying v's are for fuckin metal.

if you ever plug that v in again, LEARN SOME OLD SCHOOL METALLICA OR JUDAS PRIEST man...

    but good playing! :D

  • no way dude

if its for metal then jimi was usin it wrong

  • oh yeahh forgot about jimi..

the flying v was the guitar he least used because its not as bluesy as a strat

  • The amp doesn't do justice to both guitars.

Vs have sustain and the action is lower. Strat you get the feeling and warmth from the pickups.

Different guitars for different styles of playing. And I got both, so I know what I'm talking about.

  • Fender is crap. Flying v all the way!

  • flying V has a nice tone, but its not easily played with much other than metal, fender has that nice bluesy sound to it, and are made very well, but it all depends on what music you play, i'd have to go with the flying V

  • keep in mind you cant play a V sitting down.

  • yeah u can, its just difficult

  • yah u can lol

put the bottom of the *v* under ur right leg

and rest the body on ur left leg

  • lol and i cant play with a fender strat sitting down!

    XD

  • i cant play a fender strat standing up!

  • You're wrong ALbert King and some other blues player were playing flying v's since they were invented

  • well i know that, i just mean most guitars with 2 double coil pickups soundbetter playing metal, because of how chunky it sounds. albert king was one of the best blues players, and he made the flying V sound amazing.

  • thats BS, the V has been around since 58, almost 12 years before metal started, it was used by many blues artist. That said the strat sounds better for blues.

  • well idk what UNDERTHEBRIDGE67 is talkin about but the flying v is very comfortable playing sitting down or standing up, flying v an excellent guitar!! idk alot about strats i am gettin 1 tho:D

  • strat

  • is this a joke? flying v is uncomfortable, pickups are messed up, no versatility. Fender is a well-aged company, so is gibson. But the strat body style and killer single coil pickups for the ultimate funky bluesy rock sound. If you wanna play like some metal stuff and look different play the v. but fender sounds better.

  • STRATOCASTER ALL THE WAY

  • FLYING V \M/

  • I like the flying V more because it did indeed have warmer tones.

  • I think that the flying V had more warmer tones. When you played the Strat you did'nt play it as well as the "V" which makes it not sound as good too. Both Gibson and Fender make great guitars. "Keep Working On Your Playing."

  • nice man you should try learning how to play one of them.

  • flying v, should sound the closest to the SG, and it is not primarily a metal guitar. It does blues as well as any Gibson.

  • i play both. but i do recommend the flying v over the strat.

  • the flying v is my chocie but the only strat i like is the vg strat

  • well with that type of playing i think the strat is better but if u want to whip out some crazy solos with a lot of distortion then the flying v is the way to go

  • flyin v BUT!! thats my opinion

  • Do u know what a pick is?

  • the strat won

  • I don't like either of them, Gibson's are overrated and Strat's aren't my style.

  • than why are u watching?

  • Maybe I wanted to see this guy play... Ever think of that?

  • the v is so light

  • flying v is more for metal than whatever ur playing

  • tell that to blues masters like lonnie mack

  • Seems that you've never heard of Albert King.

  • or jimi hendrix

  • Well maybe he's confused with ESP or B.C. RICH.

That's a Gibson flying V mate, she will be whatever you ask her!

  • hendrix played strat, most of the time.. (he had signature SG though) and tell me, that you believe, that V's are used more for blues, than for rock/metal..

  • lol, both

  • The strat sounds better for what your playing but it depends on the music you play

  • Stratocoaster is best!

  • Gibson Flying V!!

    which do you prefer?!

  • It would be great if you could put some heavy distortion on and if you could play some heavy stuff like Rammstein or such, on both guitars with the same amps and settings just like in this vid...THEN I could tell the difference...

+I'd be very grateful if you ever do such vid, because I really want to finally hear that "legendary difference between humbuckers and single coils"... :D

  • strat rules.

  • THE JACKSON FLYING V FUCKS THEM BOTH UP

  • the stratocaster sounded a little worse than the flying v but they were pretty much the same. I would stick with the flying v
