  • had this been the version I seen as a kid well lets put it like this can you say shitty underoos?

  • cool

  • Want to know something messed up?I've seen this movie maybe a dozen times in 20 years, but it wasn't until the FIRST TIME that I saw THIS scene that the movie freaked me out.

  • the only reason why this moviee didnt freak me out is cuz i read the book first :P boy was that gruesome

  • Holy fuckng shit

  • lol scarred my friend for life

  • Daaaaamn nature, your scary! o_O

  • This is the only part of the movie that is scary.

    Fuck scary.

  • O mi god...

  • keep on doin your stuff :D

  • no music......creepy

  • scared me when I seen it in theaters

  • Comment removed

  • Is there two spiderwalks? This one is the best one, the other one look too much like she was off the stairs, with the wires and such. Is this one from the 1973 version? Is it on the director's cut or something? Will the scene be in the movie, or separate as a deleted scene?

  • i think the version of put out her tongue is better

  • the part with the blood is fucking awsome hehe and the sound..

you know, in Islam people can get possesed by jins (not the jins or jienis that grant wishes) some jins are good or very good and some jins are evil..a friend of my said to me once that little children can actualy see the jins when someone is possesed (deals with jins can also be made) and the kids ofcorse behave scared..becuz of that i'm not scared about that movie, cuz little kids always laugh at me :D

  • Fucking hell. I'm 20 and this movie still scares the shit out of me.

  • well....Happy Halloween! :D

  • My Dad saw this movie when it first came out....he said if they would have kept this scene in the movie back then, people wouldn't be able to handle it b/c they had never seen anything like that on film before.

  • They should've kept it but not use the blood and change it up a little

  • I'm glad this scene was taken out of the original. Completely useless. It really has no point being in the film.

  • It didn't fit with the other "possessed" scenes, all of which occur in Regan's bedroom.

  • the lack of music just makes the scene even more disturbing.

  • this is the ONLY version ive seen

  • dang I wish this was in the netfliks version

  • well, there goes my 8 hours of sleep

  • Best horror film I have ever seen.

  • The last time I saw this movie was when I was at a friend's house (that is haunted btw) and it was like 2AM and my friend jumps up from the couch looking toward one of the walls all "Did you see that?!?!" .. Apparently ghosts think it's fun to scare people during horror movies. XD

  • Am watching this movie, right now!...And i'm at this scene in the movie, and they just went to a commercial...This scene was originally cut from the 1973 version b/c of the wires showing. But, put in the 1998 movie and again in the 2010 version!..Shit is CREEPY!....LOL

  • This version is better than the tongue flicking version.

  • i recently watched this movie, and was looking forward to the crab walk ,but it never happened. What this scene deleted from the movie???

  • @TVZombie3000 It was deleted because it wastechnically ineffective due to the visible wires suspending her in a backward-arched position as she descends the stairs. They later re-released it with the help of computer graphic imagery

  • Wow, demons must have joined a pysical exercise class in hell. They are training all day long (although there is no day in hell) just for being able to do such shit in order to scare people !

  • My father will not let me watch this show. HOW AM I EVER GONNA WoRK AT A HAUNTED HOUSE?!?!?! :@

  • @Gunslinger931 I'll be happy if he was there :/ Coz he is the one who makes Regan better lol

  • I agree with the director to cut it out of the final version (not the remake).

This scene was just too early in the film, before she was really ill.

  • @Gunslinger931 The exorcist is the priest not Regan

  • @Stace1976 There are people who don't know that?

What the hell is the world coming to?!

  • I would find the nearest blunt object and beat that thing to death, son/daughter or not, if you are doing that in my home with blood dripping from your mouth you are not human lol.

  • ILL BE RUNING OUT THE DOOR

  • pretty sure this is really CReepy

  • It does scare me much now but i first saw this while hiding behind the coach when i was six. That was the single most scariest moment of my childhood life.

  • @KeraGirl1 - I also saw this when I was six when it was on television in 1981. Instead of the boogeyman, I feared "The Exorcist Girl" was underneath my bed waiting to growl and puke on me. Not fun times for a six year old.

This scene wasn't even needed. The head spin and the eyes rolling back were enough.

  • I like both spiderwalk versions. Too bad that scene was deleted. It would of freaked people out a lot more than the cut version did.

  • the original is kind a funny but this one, give me the creeps!

  • OMGG

  • wtf, the origional is better :/

  • i watched this at my friends house and she knocked the breath out of me from jumping and landing on my stomach :p

  • I love this scene! But I think the best Spiderwalk is still in the movie "The unborn". But this movie is still one of my favorites!

  • i thought this was cool and my sisters think im insane

  • i gut the uncut movie from netflix and watched it last night and this scene scared the shit out of me and my mom xD then we laughed for a while

  • when i was a child the part that really scared the crap out of me was where the records was flying everywhere, regans mom went upstairs to see whats wrong, the door closes behind her, the dresser moved in front of the door, regan spins her head around & says See what this sow has done your casting daughter

  • *Shudders* I think I know why it was deleted. Yikes! But personally, I don't believe in Hell. I believe in the afterlife, but not Hell

  • it was probably removed cause it was so fucking disturbing

  • @vivamarisa Well, that was before they could digitally remove them. It took a while to do so, THEN they added it...... well Im guessing. Sounds like something that would be happening in the 70's

  • Comment removed

  • D: esta ecena es bueniziimaaa pero me da mucho miedo T_T

  • Why was her mouth all bloody?

  • this movie still scares the crap outta me..its on now, the un-cut version, i will keep my eye out for this scene....*shudder*...lol

  • First time I saw that, I watched it when I was babysitting round the corner from my house, the kids were in bed and I watched this part, the sudden string music made me jump! I wasn't scared of her coming down the stairs, it was just the music that made me jump!!

  • the lack of music makes this more eerie

  • why didnt they leave this scene in the movie, they kept the scene where she stab her self in the p_ssy with a cross.

  • @1377ghostrider because the director william friedkin wanted to cut it because they didn't have the technology to digitally remove the wiring holding up her arched body, and also because it makes the scene somewhat inconsistent with the emotion of regan's mother.

  • @rsfobn8 I also heard they removed it because she wasn't supposed to be that far along in her exorcism at that point in the movie yet. I understand why they removed it, but damn...good scene...

  • anyone else find it a bit weird how her mother isn't that shocked? she's just like 'o my god'

  • @theblehguy1 That's Ellen Burstyn's genius--she WAS shocked. In fact, she was speechless and utterly paralyzed with confusion and fear. I mean, really think about if you actually saw that. She's confused enough as it is--something like that would simultaneously blow her mind and scare the ever-loving SHIT out of her.

  • thanks for sharing, I wasn't planning on sleeping tonight anyways.

  • WIth or without music, the scene is effective!

  • Whatever.. I never planned to sleep tonight anyway...

  • creepiest moment in the film...that demon yell if fuckin freaky as shit.

  • This scared the fudge out of me :(

  • I know I'm not the first to say this, but I've also tried doing this. I almost broke my back. XD

  • But yea the sister version were regan chases her that is freaky! I know were resident evil got the licker idea from now lmao!

  • I couldnt sleep in the same house with that little possessed bitch! FUCK THAT!

  • Would anybody want to get Possessed by the Devil or Demon if you knew a priest could expel it?

  • @shawniegirl19800

Hell no! That would probably be the most idiotic decision :D

  • @Alex0ror0 lol i know

  • omg, my aunt saw this movie waaaay back in the day and she said she couldnt go anywhere alone for three months. Not even to the bathroom! HAHHAHA! And so i decided to see why she had thot it was so damn scary. I look at this and its NOTHING compared to modern day horror movies!!! ...btw, i cant believe u guys tried to spider walk down the stairs.... O,O musta been painful! >,<

  • @ChubbyPanda101 yeah my mum was the same! she saw it back when it was in cinemas and said it scarred her for life, hahaha

  • The original spider walk was a lot better than this one.

  • It's funny how this scene is so infamous yet wasn't even in the original release

  • @PumaOPumaOPumaO Which is why its so infamous.

  • they should of left that in the beginging

  • fuck >.<"""

  • To me its freekin scary and i dont want to watch it...but i cant help myself to keep watching this...the comments keep me company

  • @perrydaplatypus9 Dude the only reason im watching this is because i can loook at the comments and teh scary bitch at the same times

  • 52 people fell down the steps trying to do this :D

  • Great scene, all perfectly timed and in place.

  • If Regan went all the way down the stairs and went up to Chris and did that moan thing still spider-walking I would have shit my pants.

  • SHIT MY WIFE WALKS THREW THE HOUSE LIKE THAT ALL THE TIME...ESPECIALLY WHEN AUNT FLOW COMES TO VISIT!

  • its not even lindar blair wtf?

  • That wasnt scary at all *pisses pants*

  • Wait was that like the ending or something for another version? yeh it would have been better if it was like the ending

  • I don't find this scene scary at all. The 'sister' scene to this one is scarier, but even that one makes me laugh. In this scene there is no eerie music in sync with the sound of her feet rapidly descending down the staircase. The 'sister' scene ends with humor. She looked as if she was playing cat and looking for milk to lap up. Slurp, slurp.

  • scarest part of the whole film ,this only horror movie that scared me, first saw this at 8 years old

  • wow, this REALLY IS the scene I haven't seen before.I've seen the version with the 'spider walk' before, but NOT this particular one! well scarey, lol.

  • Only one word.... WTF????

  • To all the retards who complain that this scene just randomly turns black and tell people to upload the whole scene. This is the whole scene. if you've actually seen the movie, that is where the scene ends. Just like that

  • This scene wasn't on the streaming version on Netflix. A shame, this scene is creepy!

  • Why hasn't anyone uploaded the complete scene AND not closed the comment section?

  • hahah i actually jumped out of my seat when i saw this in the theater the first time!!

  • please make another were this picked up

  • i think what works with this scene is that sound she makes with her mouth full of blood. that part was new and therefore it especially scared the hell out of those who had seen the movie before. remember watching it with a friend who had seen the older version and she got freaked out when this part came.

  • How did you get a version of the scene without music?

  • A) I hate the sight of blood

    B) I hate spiders

    SCARIEST MOVIE SCENE EVER!!! :O

  • If they included this in the 1973 version of the movie, people would have went freaking NUTTS!! lol

  • This scene is in the movie i saw

  • lmfao me and my cousin laughed sooo hard cause of how fast it went down the steps.

  • I had seen the movie hundreds of times, but when they added this scene, it scared the shit out of me, really creepy.

  • @Multiroester it's boring because this video doesn't include the music. The music makes it hella scarier.

  • that scene is in the movie I have seen it ( the whole movie ) it creeped me out cause I'm only 12

  • @hannah182100 I watched this when i was 12, the whole film it was my first horror movie but I was disappointed as it wasnt as scary as i thought it would be.

  • @Nanodae same

  • I have never watched horror/scary movies before and I watched this with my friend. When this part came on she screamed so loud lol all I could do was laugh while I rewinded it over and over again

  • @Beccaisawsomest

Rewind and watched it over and over?

I saw the movie when it opened in Westwood in 1973 and didn't sleep for two weeks. I almost became a catholic.

  • Was the spiderwalk even in the 1974? Or was it only in the Version you've never seen?

  • @randomdude581 they didnt have this scene until the 2000 re-mastered version of the movie

  • Much better than the other spiderwalk where she sticks her tongue out.

  • the original one is a bit creepier than this.......

  • Dang.

  • well that gave me the heebie jeebies

  • When this played at the theater's, how many of you jumped when the phone rang? I know i did, i actually looked back to see if there was an actual phone ringing.

  • omg

  • Dude... the spiderwalk scene was way past cool :D

  • i love this scene!!!

    its my favorite

  • @MrBetocueva it's my favorite too!!!!

  • I remember watching this version in the theater. This was the part that really freaked me out.

  • @agetro82 same here! I was sitting & thinking about what others said was gonna happened & to my shock (no pun intended) went numb all around while everybody freaked out like hell... good times )

  • Someone's on their period

  • I don't get it, why did they censored this scene when there are other scenes that are worse?

  • @MarioCeballosTV According to the director...he couldn't get the actress who played the mother in the movie to give a proper reaction for both shocks in the scene. The first shock was the news that the director was dead and the spiderwalk. He didn't like her reaction because it wasn't realistic. There is more discussion in 25th anniversary Directors Cut of The Exorcist.

  • @jaime5429 Oh! Thank u very much! (: And it's true, i thought that to be 2 shocks she should at least shot and cry like crazy xD

  • @jaime5429 what?? ellen burnstyn was genius in this.

  • I have the extended edition of The Exorcist.

  • this movie still scares the sh*t out of me

  • she played this part when she was 12 linda blair she moves fast spiderwalking down some stairs lol

  • how scary would it be to know that demon is in your house?

  • @KurdtKobain09 not rly demon more like the devil its the devil as a little girl

  • where's the creepy music? Music is one of the key elements to a horror film. So is acting, the mother's expression when she saw Regan is just so amazing. Those were just one of the few reasons why this scene is legendary.

  • i love this part...

  • i think my stomach just screamed for me

  • ive tried to do this

  • @omgzombies1000 did you fail ?

  • @omgzombies1000 - ha ha brilliant

  • @omgzombies1000 i failed and broke my rib :|

  • @bagleman64 lol luchy i broke my back

  • @omgzombies1000

    Did it work? :D

  • @omgzombies1000 did u do it?.. i almost killed myself trying lol

  • @omgzombies1000 well I can do this :DD

  • @omgzombies1000 were u successful?

  • I'd rather have a scene where it shows Regan tossing Berk Dennings out the window.

  • eeewwww

  • how do they do that?

  • anyone notice? 666 thousand views?

  • The whole spiderwalk down the stairs part would have me shitting bricks, but as soon as I hear that moan I'd be out of the house like a speeding bullet.

Seriously, I'm surprised they didn't run!

  • They re-released it in Theaters and this was so sudden I screamed in the theaters and everyone laughed at me I felt like such a dork I never do that lol

  • I saw this version of the movie in the cinema and this part freaked me out,but fantastic film on the big screen.

  • WTF

  • how did she walk like that? how did she do that?

  • THEY USE A CONTORSIONIST. IT WAS AN EXTRA

  • freaky xD

  • This is one of the only scenes in horror movies that made me turn on the light

  • Thanks to this scene, I was not able to sleep the night I watched this movie. Plus, I jumped of the bed and I hurt myself

  • @bitchy022309 u didnt get scared by the crucifix scene?? i got so SCARED by that i almost barfed!

  • Mah boi, this scene is what all true creepers strive for!

  • That's such a cool noise

  • I first watched this film when I was about 10 and I have to say it didn't scare me in the slightest. It's a brilliant film and I love the way the film has been made but I never got the hype, even at such a young age. I suppose it was because I was always raised to believe that films, in particular horror, aren't real. It's such an iconic film though and inspired many a horror director to create some absolute gems!

  • I cant believe people watch those movies. if I had watched one of those, I would be holding a Bible for the rest of my life. No joke.

  • woow so scary

  • I don't know why , buht this doesn't freak me out that much , maybe cohs it's in the middle of the day , buht if I were to watch it at 3:00 at night I'd shit my mother fucking pants .

    I was on the phone with my friend last night & he told me to watch it , buht not at night , ahaha (;

  • Fucking... Beyond sketchy

  • No doubt the scariest moment ever in a movie.

  • try watching this movie when ur still a young kid..... O.o..... i still have nighmares..

  • @chumtea1111 bad idea! i mean i watched it when i was 8 and i still can't watch it by myself cause i'm too scare even though i'm 16! when i saw it for the first time i didn't sleep for 2 nights...seriously!
