I like the red- it is kinda a burnt, rusty red! So matches the rug.. we kinda have a similar rug- the blocking with colors...too bad it is in the garage lol!! I really think the rug ties everything together really nicely :)

I have that SAME RUG from Lowe's!!! All the colors work really well together! My living room is a khaki color (so is my carpet) and my furniture is brown. The rug is such a great accent! I bought a nice picture from Kirkland's that matches perfectly also! You did great! Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Super cozy! We don't really have accent walls at my house because I'm too scared to really go for one, but I really do like how yours turned out. It is maybe a little darker red but it will work for a good long while at least :)

I think the red color is perfect. I do see what you are saying though, about something looking not quite right. I think that having the accent wall above the fireplace is the wrong wall, since it makes the fireplaces look top heavy. I would suggest painting it a color that matches the fireplace and painting the walls on either side instead. But I think you mentioned that you didn't want to do that! I hope you don't mind my input. I just think that for continuity, that would make more sense
