I am looking for a decent camcorder to do video for my own page... On a budget... I need one that has zoom while in video, good sound and pic quality and HD. This camera looks awesome, but I cant afford it. Any suggestions?
So you're the reason Costco is sold out. My JVC mini DV I purchased in 01 works but takes too long to transfer video. I have been looking for a new camera. Guess I need to wait until they have them in stock again. Nice review.
Sheesh... this is MY REVIEW and well over 10,000 people has viewed it and many has bought it because of MY REVIEW. COSTCO has thanked me and also YouTube has made me a partner because of my reviews. So I say to you 8stringthing, when you have a degree in police science, a former U.S. marshal, an advertising executive, then you will be able to determine what a review can be. Have a nice day, and I will be sending folks over to you... please give them a nice review also.
pretty much having the same downloading issues as MrGrandpa1947. The playback quality on the view finder and HDTV is awesome, but when I try to download clips to my computers the film comes out grainy and skips. I've tried downloading on 2 different computers with the same results. I'm running vista on both computers. Gonna call Canon tomorrow to see if there is a fix to this, just hope they don't tell me I need to buy a new computer.
I tried this camera for an hour. Could not find out how to save video to the SD card. Then the software didn't work for transfer of video from internal memory to computer. I returned. Must be a DRM infection.
I shoot 90% of my professional video with a flip ultra HD camera, because I keep it in my pocket all the time. The only reason I paid $500 for for the Canon HF31 is the external microphone plug. A pro video is crap if only the video is good, if the audio picks up extra noise??? bad news. So the M31 with the Rode shotgun mike or the Anzen wireless mic... does professional work I get paid big bucks for.
I do work for the regional airport, rock and rool bands, Renaissance faire's and alike.
hey ! maybe you can help me ? I got a cheap panasonic stereo clip mic, it works fine when i connect directly to the camera but nothing is recorded when i use a 3mts extension cable... any ideas ?
Iput this short review up and over 2,000 views. I never knew how a short clip could draw so many people. This is a great camera for the bucks. I own the M31 model and love it at a cost of $500. Go figure. Happy video shooting... Bill
@mlsprovideos The reason for the views is the m301 model is exclusive to costco, or thats what it seems like. I think most people (including myself) is looking for as much info on it as possible and hence the view count. I emailed canon and they said this is basically the same as the m300. Now its only $300 @ costco online and you get the camera case and 8gb card and a HDMI cable... very tempting!

This isn't a "review" - you're just showing people what the display model looks like at Costco with a description of the specs (???).
