That stuff that they do nowadays is by no means Slam Dancing, it is some kind of weird Karate thing invented by mallcore kids that way they have something to do at Slipknot shows. But ask any real punk, skinhead, or metalhead, Moshing and Slam Dancing are the same thing. The punks started Slam Dancing in the Hardcore Punk scene, then eventually the Thrash Metal scene began to adopt some traits of the Hardcore Punk scene, such as Slam Dancing {The metalheads called it Moshing} and stage diving.
