@lennydale92 Living in the US my entire life, I still don't understand why they call it "football". Every now and then, somebody kicks they ball. But other than that, it's all in the hands. Now, calling soccer football makes way more sense, because you're not allowed to touch the ball with your hands. I honestly don't understand America sometimes.

@tantorecords Gee thanks...I'd really like to travel and see what the rest of the world is like. I've never been out of the US (except for Mexico, once). I feel like because the US is "the mixing pot of all nationalities" there aren't any real...old traditions that are not the result of another country traveling here. (Couldn't think of a better way to word that)

The reason that American football is called "football" is because of the "no-hands" rule. America had a national rugby league (American football comes from rugby) until 1905 when 18 players died playing the sport. The "no-hands" rule was one of the biggest changes made for safety, hence the name of the sport. I don't agree with the name but who cares? Basketball!!

Further to the point, many of us resent the conservatives in our countries who happily contribute to often-polluting, unfairly-run U.S. corporations to reap the financial rewards that brings.
Most upsetting are our medical professionals who head to the States for higher wages/lower taxes. Those people are NOT generally left-wingers. Trust me.
