    うpありがとうございます。

  • Beato isn't an alternative at all, because she can't win. It was proclaimed with absolute certainty. And you misread the ??? if you think there is any kind of alliance or scheme between Bern and 34.

And Witch's Tanabata is only an ad hominem attack. Just because Bern is a huge jerk there doesn't mean that she's evil or that her goals are evil.

Also, I've seen no evidence that Bern plans to leave Battler alone with no family. She guaranteed Ange the opposite, actually.

  • You don't know things very well. Were Beato's chances declared in either red or gold? No. She can still win, just in a weird way.

Bern is a being higher than humans. She regards the people as playthings. The only reason she did that was to get a piece on the board and give Battler another chance. She really doesn't care about anyone but herself.

Episode 5, Erika is her piece. And Erika's a sadistic bitch. Erika seems to be the opponent for now, but we really don't know what's going on.

  • 'But we really don't know what's going on'? You sound very sure of yourself there, right?

And I know a couple Episode 5 spoilers myself, thanks to bloody stupid YouTube spoilers in the comments, and I don't think you're right on Beato's chances.

And you've proven Bern is self-centered, something I do not disagree with, but not evil. Someone can be self-centered without deliberately setting out to benefit from the suffering of others.

  • We don't. The only one who understands everything about the Witch's Game is Battler. That's how he was able to use Gold Truth. Everything else is still shrouded in mystery, such as who Beato really is in this situation, and the true motives of Lambda and Bern.

And going through episode 5 (can't read it) it seems incredibly obvious that Bern is doing everything possible to make Battler go through hell.

Beato will not stay dead. That's just bad writing.

  • No, she's evil. Pure goddamn evil. She recreates Ange's death just so she and Lambda can have a good laugh at Battler's rage.

Of course, she tried avoiding for the most part provoking him into using his true power. Which failed to stop it in the hidden tea party, obviously.

    I could go on.

  • Not that I disagree, but then we'd have to enter in a discussion of what's evil. Sure Bernkastel is having a blast in this game (or so I would suppose), but does that make her evil? Then again she IS helping Battler, but does that make her good?

As for Bernkastels benefit, it is fun. Fun she gains from watching their battle and/or interfering (playing) with it.

  • But I just can see how Beatrice can win.

With the sole Knox rules the possibility of Beatrice is reduced to almost nothingness.

But is very clear that the Theme of Umineko no Naku koro ni Chiru is not so much about denying or not the magic, but ruling out the false truths.

In Episode 5 Erika just try to continue the role of Battler denying the witch, but in reality she is not interested in the truth, she just create false logics and with that false truths.

  • The theme of Umineko is love. Battler's trying to find out the truth no matter what, but isn't willing to accept the Witch and Magic as truth. Erika's a bitch who took on an extreme even Battler wouldn't touch.

Battler would be willing to accept magic if there's no other choice and if magic actually happens to be the truth.

  • Well, that was truth until EP4.

In EP5 the knox commandments almost automatically destroy the possibility for any supernatural occurrence in the game, at least if it is related with the murders.

Also the role of Batter in Umineko no naku koro ni Chiru is greatly reversed, and as of now it seems that the game is no longer about Battler denying or accepting magic, because even at the end of EP5 Battler understood the mystery and became a sorcerer.

  • Battler wouldn't accept magic at all during the first 4 arcs. He's figured out how magic works, so he's willing to accept it if it is the truth. Erika won't accept magic no matter what, she's too far on the Mystery side.

Battler's main goal is to figure out why this stuff is happening, not how. He already knows how, but now it's just about him trying to uncover what his "sin" was that drove his entire family to their deaths.

  • " with out love, the truth can't be seen"

    right?

  • @shunkwugga battler actually has already accepted magic, he's only fighting for denining magic on those two days on rokkenjiima

  • I shall deny that in red... Or I would if Youtube had that option.

Bernkastel didn't guaranteed Ange the survival of her family. She only gave her the possibility of revenge and the hope of a small miracle.

Beato was fighting a lost battle since the beginning. There are no witches in Rokkenjima. She probably said that herself in red to deny EVA-Beatrice in EP3

  • Well, that's not true. Since pretty much the entire episode was an act, nothing she supposedly would say in red, but didn't (i.e. we didnt see), is worthy of any credit. This reasoning is useful not only in this episode, though, but mainly.

Please note that I'm not disagreeing that she might be able to say it in red, I'm challenging the statement that she did do that then - such conclusion would be a false positive which, as discussed, therefore, might be intentionally induced.

  • bern dat ungrateful son of a .....

i will hope battler totally kick those witches asses for all the abuse and sadness they have done to his family.

But a least in ep 4 they show that he cannot lose

  • Actually, they specifically said "Beato cannot win" . Not meaning Battler can win.

However, with Episode 5's opening, it makes me think Battler has caught on to their scheme, and is putting a stop to it.

  • you right that playing the game forever part.

Don"t get hope up the next episode is battler" s counterattack but like kai there will a bad end until the last arc.

I think bern is gonna to be scratch free at the end

  • Nah, I think Bern's going to lose. Well, I guess I should say I hope so. >:((

  • Battler's played Platinum Angel.

  • @MrBernkastel don't know if you have read yet the other episode, but prepare for a major change :D

  • Don't be so harsh on Bern. She's better than the alternatives.

  • Better?

    Hah, I don't think so.

Beatrice is the best alternative, since she states(or at least thinks) in red that she wants to die. Bern doesn't care how she wins, even if that means Battler is all alone with no family

. And since she's allied with Lambda, who also doesn't think Beatrice can win, it seems to me that they plan to leave Battler in pieces while they go screw each other after screwing up his life.

  • Gah, I moved the period.

  • Dude, have you READ Witches' Tanabata? Bern is even worse than Beato!

  • Hey look, it's Ange and the bitch that made her life end up that way.

  • inorite?

  • Meh. Atleast she's fixing it? I'm not even sure it's her doing anyway, not this time.

  • Did you read The Witches' Tanabata?

Eva was willing, heck, BEGGING Ange for her to accept her as her mother after Episode 3, and Bernkastel flat-out lied about the possibility of her family coming home, just for her own amusement.

  • I just finished episode 1 (demo version, though) last night, so I'm really interested in who all these characters are...

/waits for the full version I ordered to arrive. DX

  • Do you know where I can download this song? XD

  • I downloaded it from a torrent a long time ago, so I don't know if it's dead or not, so you can try looking for it if you want. Or use a YouTube to mp3 program/website and convert this video...

Actually, I think I might still have the mp3 on one of my hard drives, I'll go check later and upload it for you.

  • wow! :DD if you could, that would be great! thanks so much!

  • この曲大好きです!

    いい歌ですよね+。゚φ(ゝω・`○)+。゚

  • Love this song! <3
