  • As an Athenian, I was really surprised and excited to see the UGA bus! :D

  • next m night shamlayan ahahahahaaaaaaa

  • Good Kamran ! I like it.

  • Awesome:)

  • Thank you!

  • Great video but wish you had dressed the girl in a Pakistani Shalwar Kamiz instead of an indian sari. Would have been more reflecting of you, your characters and your identity. That was the only thing I didn't like about the video.

  • Thank you so much :-)

Well, one thing I feel people fail to realize is that a saari isn't a mark of Indian culture as it is also worn very much in Pakistan as well. In the same way, Indians wear shalwar kameez too, so no dress is really appropriated to a country's boundaries. Dress is a cultural thing, and India and Pakistan share many of the same cultural values and attire.

  • I am aware of some of some of the shared culture. But I think the Shalwar Kamiz is more common in Pakistan since it originates from iranian peoples like Afghans/Pashtoons and tajiks while the sari is more common in india since it originates from indians/hindus. And I think in Pakistan sari is usually worn by those groups who migrated from india. You don't see sari in rural Pakistan. Being in to cultural anthropology I find Shalwar Kamiz more beautiful than saris. Nonetheless good job.Best wishes

  • I understand exactly where you're coming from. You're right, saris are definitely not as commonly worn in Pakistan as shalwar kameez. Along with the fact that mostly non-indigenous people wore saris in Pakistan, various islamist movements over time accredited the sari to Hinduism and therefore the dress became a bit demonized.

I basically chose the sari because of its "one piece", flowy nature, moreso than shalwar kameez, i guess.

Thanks though! It's awesome how you're so well informed!

  • That was legitimately good. To be honest, it dragged a bit at parts, but really, shot selection is great, the way it's put together, etc etc. It really works bro.

Have you heard back yet? I didn't get in. :(

  • I'm a transfer applicant so i head back in the middle of may...i hope i get in haha...but if not i wouldnt mind staying where i am :-)

plus, i really dont think i'd be able to manage nyu financially.

but thank you so much for the feedback! i did realize that it seemed kinda dragged on at some points...

i honestly really liked yours...i feel like if you didnt get in it's probably not because of the film..because i thought it was pretty well made!

  • Yeah, I actually flunked the first two years of high school, but improved majorly, which helped me get into great colleges, though not to study film. (Will probably transfer later though)

Good luck with all your stuff! Thanks for the comment.
