  • The KING is cray cray lol

  • Hello! This was a great film with a superb finish. But could someone help me interpret the ending? What I thought the ending meant:

The clown troupe all dancing and celebrating in the end implied that the two clowns had died. Also, after researching the background and the history upon which this film is based, the film signifies that the king faces his demise by the revolt. Thats what I think happened....

  • Omg ! That was so sad when he cut his wrists ! I cried so much ! :(

  • wow.... totally thought that was a girl

  • i want to be as pretty as jun ki...that will never be possible though.. TT-TT so sad

  • i still can't believe that he is so beautiful, so much better looking than most female actress

  • Here's my take on the ending: I always see it as like, an afterlife kind of thing. Because they were all happy and all together again on the road and free. That's just my opinion anyways :)

This is one of my all time favourite films. I cry every single time, it's just so beautiful :)

  • Man, this pulls some strings. Very touching

  • ก็หนุกดีอ่ะนะแต่ฟังมะค่อยรู้เรื่องอ่านก็ไม่ทัน ต้องคอยระวังเวลาอ่านจะมะได้ดูภาพด้วยอ่ะ

  • Tbh I feel sort of sorry towards the king aswell o-o his life is fucked up

  • An incredible story, the acting blew me away. Made me cry like a little sissy boy in front of my girlfriend...

  • very Nice! ! ! ! !

  • If only producers understood how great BL's are

  • So rich in culture.......beautiful custumes......great story.........Thanks for the upload!

  • Such as sad and beautiful story...

  • Awww..... got to love those bittersweet endings.... Good movie.

  • honestly, if i was a guy, i'd be gay for him too

  • Please,, upload IlJimae...

  • oh gawd i totally broke down when Gong gil was playing puppets towards the end T^T and when they were both on the rope </3 heartbreak! Beautiful movie!! I wasnt expecting such a beautiful story~

  • Was the king mental?

  • @nn852 The history shows that he was very irrational, often volatile. So based on the facts, I believe he underwent some sort of mental instability.

  • I dont get the ending..

  • @risquecat critics was also confused with the ending but it show gg and jang along with their fellow performer even dix who die in the hunting scene was there enjoying their time together. which i think is good.

  • watch this movie for the second time. just loved it. truly one of my favs film and one of the films which i never get sick of

  • Oh Lee Jun Ki. You make me feel so manly. And I'm a chick. =-=

  • I think this movie was very touching but I hate them (...the king) for taking his eyes, I think it's disgusting. But maybe that's just me...

  • @oneshrewdlady I agree with you, that king pissed me off for making Jang blind, Gong Gil's heart belongs to Jangsaeng not the king :'(

  • The actor that played the King said that the kiss between him and Lee Junki wasn't scripted. He had warned Junki that he was probably going to go off script and that whatever he ended up doing, Junki was not to react surprised.

  • that's true someone face can cause many troubles

  • The king is such a troll.

  • i tried to hold back the tears... but damn. this hurts.

  • being born an artist back in these times... man... that's painful

  • wah! I'm crying now >.< its raining out so my laundry is wet too, the sky is crying with me V.V

  • does the king have sex with ki(the clown)

  • I tear up every time I watch this movie.

  • For some reason, I really love the long haired boy and teh tightrope walker.

  • @firestormthehedgehog the one with long hair name is lee junki

  • I saw this movie Friday night and Sunday night also. But one thing I didn't get was the ending. Could someone please explain it to me.

  • @RekaiKyioshi1 I guess they die in the end? the fan thrown from the tightrope walker's hands signify they commit suicide what... and the ending where they (the troupe) is happily together with the guy who was killed means they're all dead in reality, isn't it? But i guess they're happy in death, being together and away from tyranny?

  • @bethehelm94

    Thank you ^_^

  • @RekaiKyioshi1 The king was going to let the blind guy walk the rope the last time before he executed him. But Gong Gil showed up and they committed suicide by jumping off the rope. They promised to be minstrels together again in the next life. The crazy king and his consort were going to be overthrown and killed by the ministers. The ending where the whole gang were happily together again suggests that they're happy in death or that was themselves in their next lives.

  • @hoaihuong

Thank you , I feel better now that I know what happened.

  • Weird Movie.

  • i think the king is bored, looking to experiment..something different, something new? Good movie-Thanx

  • I just remembered. This is somehow related to Jewel in the Palace. :))

  • OMG!the king just so mad!!

  • The king just downright scares me... reminds me of the king from Hong Gil Dong that lost his mind.

  • LOLZ---the hunt scene reminds me of the target practice scene in Swan Lake (the cartoon version with Eric and Odette).

  • jesus christ! lee jun ki is beyond gorgeous.. i have an orgasm everytime i see him!

  • @crazyalien08 LOL Too funny! That's the J-style!

  • -_-

  • that's a guy? is the king gay?

  • the king's just mental :/

  • From the part where he got blinded till the end just brought me into tears ;__;

  • the real girl queen is really beautiful. and junki my love is beautiful too =D

  • My mom thought he was a girl

  • 05:44 Was that really a man!? Damn Lee Jun Ki!

  • a innebunit regele :|

  • I heard good comments about this movie b4 but did not really understand the meaning. I am glad to see it finally. Did not expect that Lee Jun Ki can act this way. Good to know another talented korean actor with also pretty face. LOL... Love him now...

  • Thanks for the good movie

  • such a beautiful story,,LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

  • Mentally ill king!!!!

And is it just me who think that Lee Jun Ki looks like Choi Ji Woo from most angles...?

  • sad to say but it's like a michael jackson king, he just wants to have a playful life :) but then the king turns weird o_O

  • dammit i wanted gong-gil and captain to live happily ever after

  • im not a homophobe, but the homo parts did creep me out a little because the king was creepy! this movie was a beautiful piece of work that should have been subbed and came to the west for us to view in theatres as well!!

  • @Desi1204 lee jun ki was creeped out from the kissing scene xD he still gets shivers

  • @leJiNX really?! I don't blame him!! that king is creepy

  • @Desi1204 I agree, I am also not a homophobe, but because of the king, I feel really weirded out. I am seriously creeped out because of him and it is 2 in the morning so I have to go to bed, I know I will have nightmares about him lol even though I am twenty years old haha

  • @Desi1204 lol i only watched it for the homo parts XD

  • @xStrangersLullaby jeez i posted that comment 10 months ago, but remembering the weird parts now, yeah, still creep me out

  • ki jun's handsome

    i like this movie

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwww *crys* fucking love junki <3

  • That was an extremely depressing and weird movie. I loved it. :D

  • the ending is so sad for me but I love it so much. So much

  • Why are half the characters in this movie suicidal?

  • I never buy dvd's, but this movie is so precious I've decided to buy it :) I've seen it 4 times already, but I feel like it gets better everytime. It's just how good it is <3

  • so the empereor is .. bopolar??

i dont get his mood swings

  • @CallMoiE

He was a famous tyrant during the Joseon dynasty called Yeonsan-gun. He really went wrong when his mother was exiled for scratching the king's (that is, his father) face, and was later executed for showing no remorse and having temper tantrums.

  • My word but I am so glad that I watched this. I nearly didn't because I didn't fancy the sad end which I just knew was coming. I was hooked almost at once and couldn't stop watching. Well done to all the actors it was a really good performance. And also thank you for the upload, very much. xx

  • does anyone else think that 4:35 is a story about Gongil and JS? Like a memory of them falling in love or something... Cos later he uses the puppets to repeat something JS said... Ooooo LALA!!!!!! XD

  • oh mi gosh .. the king sure has some nut bags in his head.. I knew it! from the beginning he's no good

  • i stil preffer the frozen flower much better than this movie

  • lol that king is insane as hell :D

  • i lov junki , he's so pretty <3<3<3

    i've never like a guy b4 :(

  • The actor who plays the king really did an amazing job of consistently portraying him as unbalanced as he was. His face shows the depths of his insanity in every shot.

  • The Best. Period.

  • I heard soo many ppl say that is the best kmovie out there

Now that I watched it... This is the best Movie in the whole world!!!!

  • i cried at the end of this

  • In the end, the king became the clown.

  • By the way, did the king ever sleep with Goongil? I know they kissed but... :O

  • What happened to Goongil and his friend in the end?! :O

    sAD...

  • 9:46 Junki was soo cute :d he's like WOOP the king's here, better hide :D then at 10:17, he's like O.O PEEK <33

btw... doesn't the show seem a lot like Chinese Opera? I think that's where this style was originated from...

  • Far better story (even if true) than Romeo and Juliet. Great movie 9/10. I'm glad I saw it.

  • How did you manage to upload a video more than 10 mins?!?!?!

  • ok so wat happens at the end.who are the people run to do....

  • wow great job lee junki oppa! your acting was really amazing! :)

  • it sounded more like poetry to me than like street performing..

  • wow.. did i cry.. no need to answer

  • don't know what you guys think, but I've personally found the king really freaky throughout the whole film? o.o

  • nice movie!!! neva thought it could me this much touching!!! =)) and a compliment to jun ki, great job dude!!

  • wow i love this story, its sooooo deep!!! The character Gong Gil is soooo lovely and if i was the King i would want his company as well!!! but his friend his jealous for sure!!!

  • xDD at 0:20:54 the kings face is messed up xD

  • is this movies base on the truth story like about korean history????......

  • @jaejoonglover123 yes. but There just are some articles on actors in dynasty chronicles. this film mixed with reality and non-reality

  • 0:05:43 Can't help falling in love with that.

  • when lee jun ki cut himself i cried so fucking hard D':

''All my life, i played at being blind''

''Now that i really am blind, its a shame i'll never get to play one''

''And i was just getting good at it too''

when that dude said those lines in prison, tears came out, but when jun ki reapeated it, i was like bawling DDDD'''''XX

  • lee jun ki here was not just a pretty boy but a beautiful rare exquisite woman

  • When this movie first came out in Korea, my friend and I went to watch it. It's been about five years since then, and I find it amazing that the movie seems even better second time around (cause usually, when you re-watch something, it doesn't live up to your expectations lol). Awesome background music, too.

  • @annwyn17 Jessus Christ man, have you ever heard of using punctuation marks?

    google it.. .

  • No way this is brotherly love! Jangsang treats Gonggil like a delicate woman. He covered him when they were fighting off the gang of men and held his hand when they ran. The hug under the tree was totally romantic. And at the end Gonggil infers that Jangsang is his "king" and he's a fool for thinking that the king had stolen his heart. With the lack of women in their world it makes sense to fall for the pretty boy.

  • A very fine film, loved it, now I'm off to buy it!!

  • it seems like there's a part missing between parts 1 and 2....

  • @edolen there are two different part ones

One is only 25-6 minutes and the other one about 53mins

  • Just beautiful, simply beautiful. I love the passion and the drama and asian cinema!!

  • Kyaaaaaaaa~~~Gong-gil ( Lee Jun Ki )

  • Such a good movie. So much better than what we get in Hollywood.

  • seriously..this king is such a complete fool..just LOOK at him!

  • This was a beautiful, breathtaking movie. I really loved it, and loved the feminine actor :))) He was perfect for the role! :) I wish they had a happy ending, but perhaps it was really impossible for them with the way the events developed. It's a pity they haven't even had a small kiss. But the way their love was portrayed, there is no doubt it was stronger than anything else :)

This movie was absolutely wonderful :)

  • Oh my goodness, this story was so emotional! I truly love it now, even though it was very different. But as someone said in the first part, it shows really well what strong love is like even without kisses or physical contract.

  • I loved the movie and the end is so sad but I can't cry even if I'm a real cry baby. I'm just so pissed of because I wish they survived

And now I'm an admirer of Lee Jun Ki! he is so talented and courageous to play such an effeminate character

  • d king is craaazy

  • how sad! T-T!!! they really loved each other.! that king is such a retard. lol big time. lost much?! <333 LEE JUN KI :)

  • theres a saying that goes

"A poor man is a wise man and a wise man is rich man but the rich man is blinded by his wealth." I guess they mean all men are equal either that or all men are doomed by thier greed >.>

  • Just got done watching Between Dog and Wolf, it is amazing how Lee Jun Ki can go from manly to so feminine. I'm amazed.

  • wth gong-il is dude and they still want to make love? wat the heck?!!

  • @vietthy93 the king might not be straight

  • Sooo...the king never had the psychotic episodes BEFORE? I mean, wow. He's good at keeping that secret.

  • is he suppose act to be gay or girls???i still dn't get it but nice movie

  • @ifa115 well.. if you have a look the the history, sometime, a performer who always act as female would mentally thinks that he is a girl but not so much as gay. In this movie, is because she was so beautiful that the king has fallen for him.

  • well...i didnt cry but still......i dont like that junki died...

  • so both of them died??

this was such a beautiful movie was crying some parts and had to smack myself everytime gong gil spoke because i forget he was actually a guy im so glad i watched this movie

  • OMG no fair i'm crying now ur a meany *cry* haha i can't see the key board hahaha i'm laughing and crying at the same time, thanks so much for uploading this movie the writing the actors the scenery it was all just perfectly put together.

  • Epic ending.

Crying like sshhitt right now >.<

is Gong-Gil meant to be a male or female in the movie?

  • @Melchior742 Gong-gil is a man who has feminine features (There's a word for it I swear) Smooth, light silky skin, curly eye lashes, small and skinny build. Because of these features and his nature, he would usually be picked over women because he was easier to dominate.
