335i sounds great. 328i is impressive for what it is but I still wouldn't buy it if I had the choice. And 36 mpg is impressive but I think what is even more impressive is the 34 mpg that the 335i claims. And I would not wanna be the second owner of these 3er's so much revving hope they are past the break in lol.

personally I think the 328i sounds good, but it will sound better when some aftermarket units come out.

I got 328 N20 2 days ago. Sound is obviously a down grade compared to l6 but overall performance and MPG and when you hit the gas, and tourque is allways there, it's hard not to like it. dash look better, door opens wider, car is actually lighter than previous328 and have better F/R weight distribution.

@ferrari7992 Consider this - the N55 335i is the last R6 engine you will see in a 3 series bimmer, naturally aspirated or not. Makes it all the more special, doesn't it? What a shame. Damn OPEC.

@44lucas I would not be surprised if the N20 appears in the 7 Series as the 728i. Current 730Li (N52) is only available exclusively in Southeast Asia markets.

The N20 sounds synthetic, like you hear they had to put great effort into it to make it sound acceptable. That Inline-6 in the 335i just sounds naturally awesome like all BMW 6-cylinder engines. Sad somehow these engines are an endangered species by now...
