This sounds nice especially the drums, but there's no way it's superior to the Mega Drive port. I can hear PSG sounds in this version and PSG is inferior to FM.
Further more I think I have the best version of this.
Not to sound like an old git... but games today don't quite have the fun and silliness of the Amiga generation. Unless i'm looking back with rose tinted glasses.
@lastv8interceptor aajhhh i agree with you my friend...games was so funny back those days i had amiga too...i played golden axe titus the fox and much moreee!! those games bring back my old childhood...nostalgia!! hahahahah peace and love!
@lastv8interceptor Nope, you're spot on mate. Amiga games were FUN, first and foremost! Gameplay was everything. Now it's just about how much prettier or more realistic you can make it :(
I can't speak for the snes version but this was included in the Genesis version. I watched it through twice the first time I turned it on. It was great how they actually played in time, hadn't seen that before in an opening theme. This is my favourite part of the game!
Great theme songs, why dont they put killa rock songs on todays games? they dont make em like the used to, all graphics no gameplay, no pure addictive replayable fun, no class.
@ShiryuGL yeah ive been there too and im not too old im 25, in fact i had my super nintendo a few years ago, intact. and i didnt have money so i sold it to my fathers friend and guess what? my father didnt charge him anything!! so practically i gave it to him... i was soooo mad! i miss it T_T
ohh myy does this still crack me up!!! the music is fab ( and should be used on my name is earl ....in a chase scene..lol).. and still larffin at chucks flat foot at being charasmatically out of time...wow...funny funny..... the theme was better then the game though...
but imagine the programming it took back then for such small laughs....WELL I NOTICED...lol...
If you compare to some of the other platforms availabe at the time, that's trying to perform this theme, the Amiga really shows its superiority in the sound department back then.
I love the way that at one point Chuck goes crazy with his guitar playing, his hand is literally a blur! lol I don't remember the game at all, but I DO remember this crazy intro. Its up there with all the classic Amiga tunes, like Cannon Fodder's "War - Never Been So Much Fun" and that funky Gods intro music.
so many are saying that this game was rubbish but I remember playing this when i was little and thinking it was awesome! I think you had to be the right age and it was very simple looking back at it, i was 7 or something!
When I was nine years and my brother was twelve, my parents bought us our first computer. It was a Amiga500s. The year was 1991. One of the games we had was Chuck Rock, which is exactly in this video. It was great, brilliant, witty, fun and infinitely beautiful. Spain also beat the evil Gary Critter, hahahaha!
The sounds and music in Amiga games. That's why I loved this old machine so much. I managed to get an Amiga 500! :) Back then I also used to listen to this music, I recorded it on tape. Groovy!
Fantastico, è proprio la musica di Shadow of the Beast! Grazie della dritta!
I remember doing homework while this song played over and over on my amiga...indeed it was the good 'ol days. My personal favourites were, besides this classic game theme, the Super Cars II intro and menu music, and all Lotus games. I would even load the games sometimes just to listen to their themes. If there are some amiga game cover bands out there, I'd love to know.
all the versions of this tune are good, even the game boy one and that was pretty bad haha. i like all the versions plus someone did a MP3 version of the tune, i would check it out its amazing
4Mat of Anarchy did the tune for CORE. He also did CarVup.. but core was upset coz they found out that most of the tunes for that game had allready be used in an Anarchy demo a few months before! lol
Defo not to be had as a ringtone on your phone. Otherwise you'd be totally rocking out and never answering and all your mates would think that you'd gotten all snobby cos of that new girl you started going out with and she'd be like you're better off without them and then they wouldn't take you on that lads holiday to Ibiza. I was stuck with an Amiga 500 to the end of 1995, so I wasn't reluctant to upgrade to a PC... I was ecstatic.
I used to compare Amiga games with their arcade, Genesis or SNES versions, and the poor Amiga always got the version with the worst graphics. I watched Playstation and Saturn commercials on TV, and then I looked back to my slow and obsolete Amiga, which would've never been able to run those games. When I got a PC, I felt as if a whole new world had opened in front of me.
Unfortunately, no games used any of the upgrades an Amiga could get. I read my old Amiga magazines and I find reviews of a 68020 w/math coprocessor for A500, a card to add a real 256 colors mode to any non-AGA Amiga, an 8 MB RAM expansion for A500, hard drives, CD drives... but games were ONLY made for unexpanded computers!
You're right, Amiga COULD do much more than what it did, but no game developers ever gave it the chance to. :-(
That's right. It was a fantastic computer. It still is!! When I was young I had a lot of fun with this machine...those times are over...no fun with PC anymore :-)
Why not? A PC can be fun too! There's a lot of titles out there, and if you have an nVidia video card you can even play them in stereoscopy! You can make your own levels for a lot of games, you can code in Dark Basic with the same ease coding in AMOS used to have, you can emulate a lot of machines from the NES to the Playstation 2... there's a lot of fun you can have with a PC! ;-)
