  • Wonderful work!!!

  • quels frissons appaisants

  • Do you ever wonder whats the true meaning of life, and if reality is even real, whats true and whats false, what to trust and what to believe, if there is a god or superior being watching over us, is anything real what if life is just a dream and where already dead, wheres the reality where dreams run wild and everything is up to perception, why is everything so complicated, i just want peace and happiness but i guess thats to much to ask or

  • @jonhdoe1090 yes, everyone is a dead walking (Nietzche ) - they already dead at age 14

  • Goreshit's "The Nature of Dying" combined this song with some heavy drum and bass. The smooth strings and heavy D&B makes for an excellent mix regarding the desperate struggle and final calm acceptance of one's final moments.

  • This just reduced me to tears....thankyou x

  • melancholie ist der spaß an der traurigkeit!

    danke!

  • the last 25 seconds are the most sad part of the song in my oppinion

  • @TakingLuvForARide

For me, it was 6:17... I got depressed.

  • While I listen to this, I can't imagine that I'm stuck on the ground.

  • this song is what real music really is

  • Goosebumps. Every time.

  • I love the imagery its just exquisite ... what a wonderful interpretation of the music, thank you :)

  • this is so lovely. i've been listening to it on repeat for an hour.

  • Its also the same theme as "Wriitten on the Sky" Love it....

  • Masterpiece !!!

  • Very deep atmosphere, I am moved by it, except from the last image of the rainbow that's to

obvious and spoils the story you are telling.

  • @paviixox - You're a genius!!

  • stop your music , go to google , type in rainy mood , click on the first link , play these together , enjoy </3 xxxx

  • @paviixox I tried but it doesn't work, maybe because it's already raining outside :O

  • @paviixox Wow...I never thought those two would go together. What a wonderful combination

  • @paviixox You have just destroyed a masterpiece.

  • I don't know why, but this reminds me of Schindler's list.Beautiful :)

  • how can sound make the hairs on my neck stand up. I would give the rest of my life for one day with musical talent so i could make music as half as good as this. oh well better luck next life

  • @ThePenguinColonel Why? Just start making music now......it's never too late. Go take some classes, branch into something new......follow your dreams my friend. I could have died this week from a rare bacterial infection. I had to go to the ER, and they had to pump me full of so much stuff (and will continue to do so all week) that I can't remember half of what the shit was anymore......lifes too short. GO FOR IT!

  • Geht unter die Haut....einfach unglaublich, wunderschön, ergreifend...

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • god bless the chords Bm-A-D-G

  • @aleksisofevil Make it variations on Bmb - Ab - Db - Gb and you're spot on.

  • this music is so beautiful. Words really cannot express...

  • SHUTTER ISLAND BROUGHT ME HERE

  • this is soo beautiful!

listen to goreshit's remix of this, called 'the nature of dying'. usually i'm not very fond of remixes of this kind of music but that song is really just mindblowing!

  • "it's about the bittersweetness of life but it's also hopeful and tender." i think youve got it right. The title is "On The Nature of Daylight". Daylight is created by the sun. Everyday the sun rises and then slowly begins to fall out of view and we are faced with darkness. We see the sun everyday and are happy to be greeted by it upon waking, but we all know that soon it will be setting again. I think your interpretation as well as the title were perfect.

  • I just close my eyes & let my mind wonder to this beautiful song.

  • For me, this song is an old polaroid photo; a sunlit, empty square in the morning; an old road of some forgotten city; a creaking rocking chair; old parquet, musty books that release clouds of golden dust in some cathedral-like library...to me, its all that is timeless.

  • i would rather listen to this then soulja boy..

  • this gets me teary eyed and shivery every time I hear it

  • Скрипка прекрасна.

  • this is like my new favorite travel music

  • beauty.

  • I don't know where I go when I listen this.

The only thing I know is that I love it.

  • Very nicely done video. As for the music, nothing to tell. It speaks for itself...

  • guys I need help, anyone know wich music of Max is playing on this video?

    watch?v=d3aZxx7JWJw

  • im inlove with this song !

  • What pains and agonies - oh this existence

I just realized, I was immortal

  • @batura1 World's use is cold, world's love is vain,

    World's cruelty is bitter bane;

But pain is not the fruit of pain.

    Elizabeth Barrett Browning

  • Disturbingly powerful!

  • Shutter goddamn Island

  • I rarely write comments on songs but this one is EPICLY BEAUTIFUL . I just had to say.

  • This makes me think of the scene in Deathly Hallows Part 2 when Dumbledore says to Snape "Don't tell me now you've grown to care for the boy..(Harry)" and Snape has this pissed off look on his face and proves to Dumbledore that he's always cared by sending his Patronum Doe..

  • 6 moving minutes of absolute beauty, promise and heartbreak! Just magical!

  • Stunning.

  • winter is exiled but leaving scars in its wake

mother nature cries healing wounds fixing breaks

spring ushers in the joy of the summer

which cries tears of love cries tears of two lovers

just as the winter leaves in the spring

summer is gone on autumns fall wing

but before winter comes with the cold and the pain

the sky opens up with a last cry of rain

  • HOW THE HELL CAN SOMEONE DISLIKE THIS?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?

This is PURE GENIUS. I am absolutely baffled. Seriously. I cannot think of one reason why someone has the nerve to dislike such a masterpiece.

  • @paulsburmachannel I'm glad. Because this exact thing happened to me... after the worst 6 months of my life :)

  • Six minutes and twelve seconds of my life well spent

  • sounds like a beethoven quartet

  • when the power of love is greater then the love of power the world will know peace

  • I love you Funda.!

  • I used to think this a very sad song. But played under the stars and moon on a chilly fall night laying with the person you will forever have as your best friend in your arms... you start to really get a feel for what this song is all about. Let this song tell you it's story. Let it bring out your emotions, and you will find your story within it.

  • @87beastmode87 reading this gave me shivers listening to this song. :)

  • @87beastmode87 gay

  • video bad quality audio is ok

  • I love it! So emotional and deep :)

  • beautiful melancholy embrace ...

  • @windswept23

This song becam very important for me during the last months... This song is able to bring me down, it makes me think about the past. This is magic.

  • @windswept23 No offense but those pics are horrible for that song, not fit at all, second of all, as well thank you... 25 down Sorry!

  • @windswept23 Wirklich wunderschöööön und tiefgehend :) Danke fürs Schicken! :)

  • @windswept23 :)))) Jo :D

  • Made me cry my ass off, and i'm not ahsmed to admit it.

  • This goes straight in to my heart..

  • Only people with lack of emotions can dislike this masterpiece

  • Dive <3 Beautiful song! I love this! <3

  • Dive <3 Beautiful song! I love this! <3

  • i have finally lost my mind, ive been a good person all my life and ive stood my ground but now, just now ive lost it all in an instant. i just snapped like a twig and its all came clear to me that i cant keep doing it, i just cant and this song just basically is my pure emotion right now.

  • @wokeup28 If I read you right and this has pulled the tears free then remember to come back to it when

things feel impossible. This says that it is always possible to get through to the other side, even when things seems darkest.. Best wishes.

  • @sandywin1 thank you, i dont even know who you are but thank you who ever you are.

  • Shutter Island! :)

  • ill make a movie with this theme i promise

  • @thirdechelon95 SHUTTER ISLAND 2 WOULD BE A GOOD MOVIE WITH THAT THEME

  • I keep coming back to this video. With the haunting music it has the quality of a Polliakoff film. Fabulous. If only I knew how to combine music with images like this. How difficult is it? Thank you so much for the inspiration .

  • SO deep. Feelings: loss, sorrow, hope.

For similar beauty (modern classic), search for this new one:

The Inituition - There is no end. There is no beginning.

  • god is real..if not ..how do ı explain this song?

  • this brings to my eyes...

  • when the power of love is greater than the love of power, then the world will finally know peace <3

  • about 600,000 of the views are mine :D

  • which would be worse to live as a monster or die a good man.....

  • @coffer97

Why the Either/OR - why not live as a good man?

  • @batura1 That wasn't an answer

  • @batura1 - It is. You didn't read carefully

  • @coffer97 that's an easy one. I would rather live a short life as a good man that live forever as a monster.

  • @h2soccergod Or you could be a good my monster with an average lifespan :D

  • @coffer97 it's better to live on your feet than to die on your knees

  • @ex13deus

It's better to die on your feet than live on your knees!

  • @coffer97 hello, i love the movie you are quoting, and i love this song... that is the only question in life... you can't be both... suffering is the battle between the two

  • DiCaprio said it well

  • Comment removed

  • @coffer97 live as a monster , because i dont want to people remember me like a bad person , i better die faster like a good person and everyone gonna remember me as a good man and my childrens would be proud of me about that

  • i want my school orchestra to play this. That would be so epic.

  • Why are you all wet baby?

  • Very painful beautiful, if I may say so...

  • So what's up with the 23 people without a soul?

  • Mankind itself is a disease, this song opens up my mind to this realization. It only takes one person to spread something to another. such things are violence, drugs, addictions, literal diseases, anger, hate, blasphemy, fornification, lust, and countless others. The world is without hope in the end. There's nothing we can do for ourselves but wait till that moment happens, the moment when we are free of this world. the woes and troubles and are somewhere better. Anywhere is better than here.

  • @JTajblik read vonnegut

  • @JTajblik the answer is - Paradise....

  • @JTajblik On the flipside, it only takes one person to spread love, joy, happiness, peace, friendship, compassion etc... What makes life worth living is knowing that with a bit of hope, things will be better tomorrow, even if they might seem to be very troubled today.

  • @JTajblik I'm sorry you think that. There's good in this world; find it and keep it close to you. I wish you only the best my friend.

  • @JTajblik

Call it a shot in the dark, but i'm sensing that you may be a little depressed.

Why not go buy yourself an icecream?

  • @JTajblik

There's always something we can do to fix things up. Evil will always stay ahead because good people dont do anything.

  • @JTajblik You should realize all those emotions/acts listed above come naturally to most people, can't do much about it.

  • can't stand the violin at 1:45 so Beautiful and touching .

  • Beautiful!!

  • saudades

  • Generally speaking I don't like classical music. It's either too pompous, intentionally difficult or irrelevant, but this is magnificent.

  • This is where I seek solace & the necessary strength to bounce back

  • This Max Richter should have his own VEVO channel!

  • love this music. it was used in the film shutter island, where i first heard it, so i decided to find out what it was

  • omg this music is pure sadness. it lets you think about the humanity and the actual world situation... what are we doing?? why are human so ... so... i dont know...

  • beautiful music and visuals

  • Comment removed

  • great visuals!!!

  • if i'm feeling down i'll come to this song. it's just beautiful. i don't know how to describe it, it makes me feel hopeful. such a stunning piece of music.

  • Absolutely stunning piece of music. Max is definitely one of the best postmodern composers out there.

  • i come back and listen to this all the time, its the most beautiful piece of music ive ever heard. So much emotion, so much power. I love music that makes me feel something.. this takes me on a journey and tells me a very beautiful story.

  • Epic... enough said.

  • been listening to this piece for the second day already, i don't think i'll tire of it.

the violin part just makes my eyes tearful... : (

  • When the day the music dies arrives, it will be the end of the world

  • great sense for the visual!

  • this song gives me chills every time i hear it. then i want to cry because of how beautiful it is. i feel every emotion going through me. music is so powerful. especially when you can relate to it with no words. its truly unbelievable.

  • Sombría

  • yeah...there is a little more to this song and this world than break-ups...morons

  • when you listen to the beginning it's emotion is sad

  • I really wish songs like this could just be cool without all the stupid mushy comments about "the power of love" and "life is nothing without music" You make me wanna puke. This song is awesome but not for those stupid reasons

  • @db247310 The song is awesome to each individual for whatever fucking reason they want, you close minded fuck. Just because you're an immature little cunt and can't handle people being sentimental with themselves, doesn't mean people shouldn't post "stupid mushy comments about the power of love". People can post whatever the fuck they want, which is why I wont tell you to fuck off and shut up, but eat a dick, regardless.

  • @Catharax that person has obviously never been in love

  • @db247310 you are a stupid fuck. music is all things to all people. Sometimes people's lives are just music. When you insult their opinions, you insult their life. You're a prick. Go fornicate yourself with a pole.

  • Comment removed

  • @db247310, what I love abotu music is that it can be whatever the lsitener wants it to be.. For you, this song is simply pleasant- but for others it can be whatever they want or need it to be. Music is everything in notes and symphonies.. For me this song is acceptance, and regret, and everything that runs through my mind. But simply, this song is pure to all.

  • @db247310

You're an idiot. go puke and get off this page

  • some hearts are true.

  • amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • quando il potere dell'amore sarà più forte dell'amore per il potere il mondo conoscerà la pace

  • Changed my mood in no time

  • This is so damn beautiful

  • This song is not supposed to be listened in a sad mood. Sound of violins and piano can ruin your broken heart..

  • I was lead to this music from the movie Shutter Island. I didn't find it through the credits, it was the burning scene that absolutely caught my attention, I replayed that scene over and over and realise it was this music that had put in so much emotion in me. Don't know how guys feel about this, but I think that scene has done this music great justice compared to other movie soundtracks. It portrayed a bittersweet experience of love and life.

  • listen to max richter with the atmosphere of the night, It's something unbelievable

  • this has the pain of the world in it...

  • remember me olocaust, the camp, the snow..the dead..i don't know why

  • about 100 of the views are mine :D

  • never has such a song brought out so much beauty yet so much sorrow in its sound, absolutely amazing in every aspect.....it makes your heart swell with the joy and beauty of the world, in colour yet with the violin playing its sorrow we see the world in black and white in pain and misery, and it makes you feel like crying

  • Does anyone know where I can find the image at 1:40?

  • Did I just shed a tear? - That's not me

  • The little 'creaking' noises in the back just make this even more poignant...like at around 4.48 if you listen carefully :-)

  • they make mistake with bad marks ;] God bless all 22.05 - it wasn't end the world. Nobody don't know this .

  • Chris, I miss you so much it's unbelievable. The last three months have been the hardest of my entire life and I would give absolutely anything to have even five minutes more with you. I still love you and it breaks my heart that you never knew that.

  • how can you dislike this. please. fuck yourself hard
