@WonderWeiss324 its kind of hard to get over when you're released after 3 (only 3), matches. This one and two other squashes with Umaga and Kozlov. Not to mention virtually zero exposure otherwise. Promos and winning matches is how you get over in WWE (if you're not put in a specific position to get over ala Daniel Bryan), and if you don't get either well,...does anyone really know (or care) who Johnny Curtis is?
The reason Colt Cabana didnt make it in WWE is because he couldnt get over with the fans. While he may have a somewhat strong following amongst internet fans (mostly due to his friendship with CM Punk), he doesnt get the kind of reaction that others do. You dont know hwo much he fought for his position in WWE, maybe he just didnt try hard enough. Stop acting like you know anything about the business...we're all just fans. Unfortunately, theres tons of bandwagon ones regarding Colt.
I have to totally agree with newagepun. BK was so much better as Spanky in ROH, and TBK was a good second gimmick...but this BS he's doing in TNA is just sad and shameful. Not to mention, he just looks sick and unhealthy now.
TBK was his best gimmick ever. Now he's in TNA acting like some strange as incommunicable guru or shit. He made himself a master on the mic and made zeke, an otherwise big boring guy look rather smart as an 'adviser'. And sadly scotty goldman was fodder and never gave him a running chance at anything, even a tag team stint or something.
WWE is suppose to be about entertaining, it gets no better than Colt doing just that. Surprisingly not mentioning how much of that contradicting piece of shit prick Cole is, Daniel Bryan or as people who've been watching him alot longer know him as Danielson is finally getting to do something. The reason he may not seem to have any personality is cause WWE DOESN'T LET HIM BE WHO HE IS.
Around this time but it wasn't enough. Not like the way he is now. Punk had to scratch and claw his way to the top and now has the power to say what he wants because of politicians like HHH and the biggest fuckhead John Laurinaitis kept guys with actual talent aside. Cabana was part of this. Instead of using his strengths, they tried to make him into one of their creations and didn't even give him any time to do what he does best.
Kendrick was actually good when he was known as Spanky in ROH. WWE has a tendency of wanting to change peoples names because they want the copyrights but if you try and change the entire persona into a character instead of letting them be who they are, then you aren't going to get very much out of him. Bottom line is Cabana wasn't WWE homemade like a Batista or Cena or even Orton, therefore Cabana had a slim chance of going anywhere. Punk was finally starting to come into his own......

Colt Cabana's style is comedic, but it has a place in WWE. Santino Marella is a great example of a comedy wrestler prospering.
They dropped the ball on Colt by not giving him any promo time prior to his debut. His character is goofy, funny, off kilter. A couple of backstage segments, or vignettes leading up to his debut like they did with Kofi Kingston would've established his character and let him shine. Just throwing him into the fire without any background was a bad move.
Scotty Goldman was never gonna work look at him he looks like the ppl they make loss when they give a super star a match and a day off at the same time
The only reason some people care about Colt is because CM Punk said his name, that's it. There's nothing special about Colt... he's average, he's today's Barry Horowitz.

The reason Colt Cabana didnt make it in WWE is because he couldnt get over with the fans. While he may have a somewhat strong following amongst internet fans (mostly due to his friendship with CM Punk), he doesnt get the kind of reaction that others do. You dont know hwo much he fought for his position in WWE, maybe he just didnt try hard enough. Stop acting like you know anything about the business...we're all just fans. Unfortunately, theres tons of bandwagon ones regarding Colt.

Around this time but it wasn't enough. Not like the way he is now. Punk had to scratch and claw his way to the top and now has the power to say what he wants because of politicians like HHH and the biggest fuckhead John Laurinaitis kept guys with actual talent aside. Cabana was part of this. Instead of using his strengths, they tried to make him into one of their creations and didn't even give him any time to do what he does best.

Kendrick was actually good when he was known as Spanky in ROH. WWE has a tendency of wanting to change peoples names because they want the copyrights but if you try and change the entire persona into a character instead of letting them be who they are, then you aren't going to get very much out of him. Bottom line is Cabana wasn't WWE homemade like a Batista or Cena or even Orton, therefore Cabana had a slim chance of going anywhere. Punk was finally starting to come into his own......

Colt Cabana's style is comedic, but it has a place in WWE. Santino Marella is a great example of a comedy wrestler prospering.
They dropped the ball on Colt by not giving him any promo time prior to his debut. His character is goofy, funny, off kilter. A couple of backstage segments, or vignettes leading up to his debut like they did with Kofi Kingston would've established his character and let him shine. Just throwing him into the fire without any background was a bad move.

@bigdaddyshane You can't forget though, that he also has a pretty big following from his indy work. His work as a comedy wrestler is great and he really is the definition of a comedical wrestler in my mind. He's the kind of guy that can wrestle with the best of them but has fun in the ring.
Granted, many people first heard of him when Punk mentioned his name, but saying there's nothing special about Colt is undermining the guys talent IMO.

In fact, the only people who do use kicks are Chris Hero (who barely does use them, and is twice as good as any WWE wrestler) Davey Richards (who does use them, it's his gimmick, the guy is like the next Benoit) and Eddie Edwards (Richard's tag partner, same applies to him).

Cabana, supposedly/allegedly because they wanted him to tone up and lose weight and he actually gained weight as Scotty Goldman.
