  • Thank's, do you know what car will replace the Town car ??

  • RIP Towncar

Being a luxury car is not about having all kinds of stupid widgets or 10 billion horsepower, its about having style, beauty, class, comfort, and yet being very reliable. Considering how repulsively ugly cars are in this age, this Towncar has maintained its classic beauty very well. And it is by far the most reliable luxury car. 400,000 miles no sweat. These Cadillacs and Chryslers with their smartkey, remote start, Onstar, GPS, are so ridiculous. Oh and FWD is a joke.

  • 2:33 what's that car on the back? the brown SUV

  • @mrthestig8 I got a Mercedes-Benz CL600 W215 for my first :) (2001)

  • Mach mal eine Probefahrt mit einem Lincoln Town Car Baujahr 2011 oder 2012 !!

    Geniales Auto !!!!!!

  • Ford discontinue the car. Not too many consumers wanted. many use for this car was for limo

  • Why are people whining about these being discontinued. They're outdated as hell and nobody buys them! Sorry to break this to you but ford isn't going to bother to update or keep making a car that nobody buys! It had a long run but its over. If you think they're so damn great then you buy one!

  • I love the town car from 03- present day

  • Ford is making a huge mistake with the discontinuation of the Panther Platform; an easy source of money in the past is dried up and America is without the large, V8, RWD sedans that defined what a car from this country used to be!

  • My Lincoln has almost all of the same features of this car, and it's from 1989. Funny how this model sells for $50,000. What were they smoking?

  • isnt that just a mustang engine?

  • Can you make a video about the Lincoln MKS 2013 Start up , exhaust , and in depth tour ??

  • Sorry .. ^_^

  • Start up , exha

  • The trunk is huge!

  • like the real solid axle

  • Damn, they will not make fords like this anymore, is it a good thing, who knows.

  • 238hp V8!? wtf, thats the worst V8 horsepower rating ever!

  • @Bagadaboats the car is meant for crusing

  • 4 SPEEEED? I wanted this car, but I can't understand why it would be anything less than 5

  • i love these types of cars but this one is just overpriced.

  • @kratos1017 It's not overpriced if you get X amount of years with trouble-free ownership, as the Panther platform typically provides.

  • I have a Signature Limited also. Mine is a 2005. The exterior and interior are two tone with factory navigation & sunroof, chrome door trim and special chrome wheels. Amazing ride. Love this car...

  • Such a smooth ride and fast car.

  • Great car. Too bad Ford quit production of the Town Car in late 2011 . 

  • 00:44 What is this labels? I'm from Russia, i do not know.

  • How many cupholders you need?

  • Ford is making a mistake phasing these out to focus on younger buyers with cars like MKZ. This is the last traditional RWD luxury car left. They should have just made a "performance" version of this by borrowing a detuned Mustang cobra engine (like Mark 8s), firmer suspension, and a console in the front instead of bench seats. The buyer who is not yet 60 might have gone for it.

    Sad to see it go.

  • I must ask. Where the hell where the owners/employee's driving to only get 8.5 mpg from that thing?

Where they running some hot laps a Laguna Seca or something?

  • My g/f has a 93 town car with over 212k miles on it. Still runs like a champ!

  • It's sad that people mess these cars up with their huge ass rims... just sad.

  • As nice as the 2011 Lincoln Town Car looks, it does seem a bit behind the times, and maybe it's for the best they are discontinuing it. Only a 4-speed automatic? No remote keyless start? Only an auto-down power window like my 2011 Ford Focus, not all windows being fully automatic? Yeah, best to let this one go.

  • You have these obnoxious boy teenagers (16-21) driving Honda's with loud exhausts and adding distasteful exterior modifications or their American V8 Muscle's with Flowmaster exhaust systems, but there's me. I would definitely not mind driving something like this. This is the pinnacle of cars that can be considered the best of the best in US history.

  • @G0Far Same here. All that stupid tuning and overpowered audio in those civics drive me nuts. Totally unprofessional. It also shows their mature state.

  • @joseph591 Yes, and the audio systems are not even that good. They're from JVC or JBL; odds are is that they bought it used. Truthfully, it also shows the place they work at (Wells Fargo isn't going to hire some douche that drives a ricer Civic). They all work at McDonalds or Burger King. When I arrive at my job, I want people to get the image that I'm what they want; professional and non-obnoxious.

  • @G0Far Wow, you sound like a real exciting person...

Most of the people who drive the cars you're talking about wouldn't want to work at a place like Wells Fargo, myself included. Boring ass bank...

Not that I have anything against Town Cars and Crown Vics. I'm sad to see the Panther cars go. I think my next daily driver may be a Crown Vic police interceptor. Cop motor, cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks... sounds good to me.

  • @G0Far You sound like a real exciting person to hang out with.

  • Comment removed

  • @G0Far its's only a shame that the best of the best aren't that good.....

  • @rickrossthebosz Reminds me of how a Ferrari or Land Rover works. You cannot rely on them as daily drivers. Whereas this Town Car or a W163 ML500 can get you from coast to coast over and over again without any issues. Money doesn't buy reliability, it merely buys name brands and performance.

  • @G0Far You've got good taste my man. I'm 16, and I wanted a Cadillac for my first. Not to ruin it with rimz and out of this world stereos. Just to have a smooth riding car, that's also potent when it's needed.

And I got a CTS (first gen)

  • thanks for the video

where is the parking sensors hidden !??

  • Love the bit when it says 8.5 MPG!!!! Lincoln really does know how to get those environmentalists unhappy!

  • @theteacuphead it dose not give you 8.5mpg, you would have to reset the option where it shows you the MPG and drive around so it could get the real MPG. Mines give me 16.2 mpg in the city.

  • 6:45 that hurts me

  • @Jakeman2164 This is the same engine the Mustang had in it before Ford put the 5.0 in it. That powerplant had 300 HP so yes they can get better power out of it, but they don't.

  • @SixHundredHP Some of us like the keypad entry. Not the key fob knick knack.

  • Sometimes, change isn't needed; the Ford Panther Platform is definitely one of those cases; excellent body-on-frame construction, styling hearkening back to a bygone era, etc. These truly were the last true American sedans; I'm going to miss column-shifters and bench seating in sedans, as well as actually turning a key to start a vehicle among other low-tech solutions. I may be a bit on the younger side compared to average buyers of these cars, but I can definitely appreciate the classics! :-D

  • town cars last forever. ford is making a mistake by not making them anymore, especially for livery

  • @rwny62882 i bet ford brings it back but crappier than ever in like 6 years

  • @rwny62882 awkward how they still are.... they arent making FORD CROWN VICTORIAS AND MERCURY MAURADER/ GRAND MARQUIS any more

  • My 99 F-150 has the same engine with more TQ and basically the same HP. Ford should improve, the key fob is also exactly as old as my 10 year old truck.

Its nice for those who have owned past town cars, but now its falling behind competition.

  • Instead of stopping production

how about a redesign for 2012?

  • Americans still buy these? Jesus. They were out of date in the early 90's! Awful. Absolutely awful.

  • Comment removed

  • @carbonxcopy

They last forever, drive like a giant couch, and are great for relaxation and business. I don't see your logic on this issue.

  • this car have a keyless open, but dont have start button hahaha :)

  • WHATTTTTTTTT!!! THEY'RE DISCONTINUING THE TOWN CAR?!?! FORD WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!? YOU LET GO OF LAND ROVER, JAGUAR, ASTON MARTIN, MERCURY, THE MARK LT, THE RANGER, THE THUNDERBIRD, THE EXCURSION, THE BRONCO, THE ESCORT, AND THE ZEPHYR!!! They were all beautiful cars!

  • @G0Far

It's a real shame; the Crown Victoria, Town Car, and Grand Marquis are now all discontinued >.<

  • I'm going to miss the Lincoln Town Car!!!!!!

  • Cant believe their still making these... -____-

  • 6.0 v8 only making 240 horsepower..... there are 4 cyl turbo's which make more then that rofl.

  • @Yuriel45 must have some sort of advantages to have a such big engine like this? but yeah its weird to see a v8 6L only making 240hp :o

  • @Yuriel45 Its not a 6.0, its an old 4.6 v8 that is tuned for low rev power. It suits the car better than a high reving engine

  • dude do not rev the engine on a cold start other tha that cool vid

  • @leojlam The engine was warm, you didn't look at the gauge before you commented?

  • @JoshJW11 every single one of kyles revving segments is done on a warmed up engine. id guess he warms up and sets the car up before filming starts

  • @yamahonkawazuki I know, i was telling someone else the engine was already warm because the person told him to let the car warm up but its already warm...

  • Really, Lincoln? It's 2011, and you STILL haven't upgraded your Town Car? I agree with XxAtomic646xX, the 2011 Town Car looks just like the old models! In fact, it also kind of looks a lot like the 2000 Continental my mom's friend use to have back in the old days!

  • I like town car's and all, but I don't like this body style. I'll stick to my 80's :)

  • its a shame the Grand Marquis, Town Car the Crown Vic are gonna be gone after this year is done . ill miss them that's for sure

  • Comment removed

  • Can't you please do a looong test drive, Kyle? ;) I'm so sad to see these cars go away, they were the only proper american cars left

  • @FralleGM your user name has GM and you call this "proper"?

  • @corvettefunstudios My username has nothing to do with General Motors

  • The best looking US car.

  • Surprisingly economical. 25mpg is easy to get on the highway.

  • Interesting that it still has the gear lever and gear identifier as the 90's versions

  • lmao the 2011 looks the same as the 90's models

  • @XxAtomic646xX right?

  • @XxAtomic646xX some of the things in the car have been unchanged since 1998, but the rest has slowly changed; 2003 new front end design and seats with enhanced internals, 2006 better output and tachometer w/ improved OD, 2007 better safety, 2009 recessed window switches, 2010 new VINS and better computer, 2011 better safety with larger headrests, 2012 last model year, discontinued in August.

  • @XxAtomic646xX And therefore one of the few car models that isn't uglier than it was in the 90's :D

  • @XxAtomic646xX They're completely different. 1990-1994 had similar style. Then 1995-1997 was the same, then 1998-2002 had pretty much the same style. 2003-2011 when they stopped making them, as he said in the video, stayed pretty much the same with very little changes.

  • that chrome grill is gorgeous!

  • OMG THATS THE SAME KEYFOB FOM MY GRANDMAS 98 ESCORT! LMAO!!!

  • Oh, I am CRACKING up now. People praise the engines in these things. Are you fricking serious? Only an American company could manage to get such a small amount of power out of a V8. Subaru has a more powerful FOUR cylinder, and Lexus gets in the high 300s with HP on the 4.6 in the LS.

  • @techluvr1234

That's not the point of these engines. These engines are a very old design, and are primitive compared to today's engines. But on the flipside, they are very durable and easy to work on, that's why these cars are popular in taxi and police fleets.

  • @techluvr1234 These engines are fantastic motors and fit the car well. They have a decent amount of torque, so they can keep the revs low. Keeping the MPGs high and the noise low. If you drive these cars right, you can get almost 30 MPG. Which can give the car an almost 600 mile cruising range in complete comfort.

  • 47,225$ Starting MSRP!!

    Shitty car

  • Who cares.. its beautiful.

  • You make great vids, saabkyle04.

  • I really like 6-passenger American cars. Sad that manufacturers are stopping the poduction of these cars.

I always wonder the quality of Town Cars, especially mechanically, the drivetrain. I read the quality of Lincolns are not that high, in respect to the price tag they carry.

Crown Victoria is a reliable and durable car. Everybody knows this. As I searched over the internet, Town Cars don't have as much quality as Crown Vics. Is it true? I really wonder other people's opinions.

  • @slowokan Canadian....

  • @strumem90 American...

  • @MultiAustin11 Mercury Grand Marquis & Ford Crown Victoria proudly made in Canada for over 26 years, Lincoln Town Car made in Canada from 2009-2011....

  • @slowokan Not back in the 80's town car was much more luxurious than the crown vics

  • It looks abit dated.

  • Those new Navigators look pretty nice. Will you be doing one of those?

  • can someone tell me why it costs almost 50k?

  • Drove a Crown Victoria at work the other day. I gave it one last good ride before it got sold. :(

  • @vettefreak89 so you work at a ford dealer? and your username is vettefreak? oy..

  • @Corkoth55 no I do not work at a ford dealer I work at a used car dealer lot. and Vettefreak was an old username I came up with back in jr. high because I enjoyed Corvettes back then.

  • @vettefreak89 "certified" preowned? or just "used"?

  • Wow it is so weird that this car sounds EXACTLY like our 1999 Crown Victoria LX. I thought over they years they would sound a bit different but nope, still sounds the same. I found it kind of funny. And nice review man! I do have a request though. Could you make a video on a 2010 or 2011 Ford Crown Victoria??

  • Even though the Town Car/Crown Vic are rubbish in terms of engine performance, they're just, cool somehow. Now they're gone. :(

  • This car always remember me Manhattan streets :)

  • It sucks that they stop making Crown Victoria and Town Car. I really like these cars

  • looks like all the previous models

  • WARNING KYLE! The 4.6 in the Town Car is NOT modular. The 4.6 in the Avaitor a few Mustangs and some other assorted Fords is though. The modular engine is a 4 valve per engine while most other 4.6 engines are 2 or 3 vlave. I wish the modular engine was offered in all 4.6 Fords but it doesnt matter now that we have the 5.0. Thanks for another great vid of a car we will all be sad to loose. Haha this bodystyle is older then me 1992-2011.

  • @yellowcow13 1998-2011 to be correct. The early 90's body style was directed towards the 80's body style, and modern look, but still was recognizable as a town car.

  • @The18Jake Thats right. Its the Crown Vic that hasent really changed much from 1992

  • @yellowcow13 Well I'd be one to know, since I own an 84 town car :)

  • @The18Jake Grandma had a 92 i think idk

  • Iv heard these are smooth riding cars. Is it because it's body on frame?

  • Very nice car in it's own right... It is entirely different to German cars of the same size.

  • As much as I like this vehicle... TOWN CAR? really??

  • @PianoandCarcrack94

If you look it up, the town car was a type of vehicle near the turn of the century that had a particular passenger/driver cabin layout. While the Lincoln Town Car has little to do with this, it does carry the luxury associated with the older town cars.

  • These 4.6 modulars never fail to make my day when I hear and see them start and drive away in person. It takes next to nothing to make me happy.

  • This car looks incredibly outdated.

  • @MayoPie It looks like its from 2003

  • Most obsolete key fob.

  • R.I.P. the most comfy awesome american car ever, well miss you Town Car!

  • i'll like this car if i have a full-time driver.

  • i really dont understand why lincoln doesnt update this car. I have a 2000 audi a6 and it has more technology than this. Lincoln could really make this car nice by using design elements that Audi uses in the A8. it would really make this car stand out a lot more

  • @lotsblocks

Because Lincoln/Ford isn't Audi; they have continuously employed tradition and contemporary styling for these vehicles. It's a shame to see them go, but the Panther Platform has stood the test of time well! :-D

  • I don't see why everyone say's these are "pre-historic?" The only "real" luxury this car doesn't have that other luxury cars have is navigation and a "between the seats" console shifter.

Best off all, these look 100x better than most luxury cars, too.

  • Who the heck would pay $50k + for a car that inside and out looks and feels like it came from early 90's? And the technology inside it isn't much newer either. I mean, I understand that Lincoln wants to keep this car on market because there are older people who would like a simple old fashioned car, but come on, it costs more than MKZ and MKS and compared to that its like a pre-historic piece of crap. Oversized too, even though it CAN'T comfortably seat 6 adults, unless 2 of them are midgets.

  • It`s very sad that Ford will kill the last survivor of the Panther platform...

I`m a brazilian huge fab of this model, and my dream is drive one of these cars...

Thanks for the great vid Kyle, and i hope you could do a full test drive video on a Lincoln Town Car...

  • 4... 4 - SPEED

  • Screw what people say about this car, it may be outdated but older people LOVE these cars, their big good on gas for a large car, and simple yet elegant luxury touches that older people want. Not to mention the ride is great in these cars.

  • I'm gonna miss seeing this and the crown Vic in ny and nj. Too bad that their getting replaced with the shitty v6 powered ford taurus and ford transit

  • I love Ford, but come on, the 3.4 V6 in my 98' T-100 produces almost that much horsepower. That engine is embarasing.

  • i dont care how outdated these cars are, they're WAY more comfortable than their modern rivals.

  • The fact that a car with a V8 only has 239 HP boggles my mind.

  • Crown Vic and Town Car are no longer made :(

My petition at ipetitions(dot)com/petition/stap2012plus is trying to get it continued to be made.

  • @sonic3243 If they're not selling then any smart company will can it from the production line, no petition will help. Either a company makes something that nobody wants and goes bankrupt putting a ton of people out of a job or they update and innovate and profit from that.

You can still buy a P71 CV which are bulletproof reliable and cheap to run.

  • @7477238 you can buy used P71s, and they certainly are bulletproof and cheap to run -- except for gas lol but that's not the point. 2010-2012 Crown Victoria Police Interceptors have P7B in the VIN instead of P71, gov't mandate, and the 2011-2012 Panthers have larger headrests, I think are more comfortable.

And the CV and TC sold excellent; CV being popular among police, taxis, and rental car companies while the TC popular among luxury-taxis, airport shuttles, and more importantly limousines.

  • @sonic3243 what do you like about the car?

  • @Oxyquatzal7 comfortable, quiet, well-built, lasts for hundreds of thousands of miles (300,000+ average w/ regular tuneups), relatively snappy (the horsepower lies, they have more than adequate performance, especially the police interceptor), and has styling that fits the job they're designed for.

Crown Vic -- taxi, police, rental car

Town Car -- limousine, luxury taxi

  • @sonic3243 You have some valid points, but some may argue that it is archaic; it has gone relatively unchanged for several years, it uses out-of-date technology and it cannot keep up with some of its so-called competitors in terms of luxury.

  • @sonic3243 I left comment for your petition. Great idea, you have!

  • @sonic3243 they dont make the grand marquis either

  • Rather have the new 300 srt8 with the 6.4 hemi!!

  • Hey if so many people are saying that this car sucks, why are so many limo companies using it?!

  • @bourneidenty Hey if so many people are saying that Justin Bieber sucks, why are so many teenage girls loving him?

  • do the navigator!!

  • I'm definitely going to miss the Town Car and its Panther-Platform brothers; NYC just won't be the same without them! T.T

  • soft touch material = plastic??!

  • Weird... Some of your videos don't show up on my homepage! It is now for a week, and every video after the revisit of the 2000 Jeep, just isn't there! Now it's not a problem since I follow your facebook-page and I go to your channel, but it's strange, isn't it?

  • One of my favourite Lincolns...Nice. Kyle, I hope you don't take this as offense and you don't block me over this but could you spruce up your intro to the cars every now and then.. There's a lot of copycats here that memorize your script down to an art.

  • these things are slick, sad to see no new redesign. one of my grandmas has 4 or 5 generations of these throughout the course of my lifetime. im just curious what will be the new choice of taxi's and police cars in the future?????

  • I didn't think these were still being made..

  • If they would completely redesign it and put a new Mustang GT engine in it but detune it a little they wouldnt have to stop making it! :'(

  • I want to buy one of these so badly. So reliable, so comfortable!

  • This is a bad joke compared to other luxury vehicles...

  • @ratmtbola I think they could have continued this with the same philosophy behind it if they put the new 5.0 into it and actually did a good refresh. then it would be a more worthy choice

  • @saabkyle04 i think they need to update that design... it reminds me of the old one... hey can you do one on the chrysler 300 S v6 and then the v8

  • @ratmtbola i thumbs down your comment , other cars a bad joke compared to these, I see alot of these fords (crown victoria, grand marquis, town car same shit!) hit over 500k miles no problem, they look bad on paper ,but were built to last, almost any new bmw , mercedes, etc is just a garage queen by 80k miles they start falling apart , but the owner's rich enough to buy a new one by than time!.

  • @iGaRaai90 I agree that these Town Cars / Crown Vics are pretty reliable, even though your statement that they hit 500k miles with 'no problem' is a little exaggerated. But that still doesn't change the fact that the Town Car is a bad joke compared to other luxury vehicles. A 10 year old E-Class got more luxury and tech features than this brand new Town Car. And your statement that BMW's and Mercedes' start falling apart after 80k miles is way exaggerated as well.

  • @ratmtbola let me be clear here the reliability of these other luxury cars is pathetic, I've replaced numerous engine's in bmw's 5 and 7 series with less than 80k on them , many more electrical issue's aswell, my buddy and ford says the crown vics, and town cars they ever see just need oil changes many with 500k miles, original drivertrain. But for the same price as this lincoln you can own a bmw , audi, and mercedez of same size since they are more advanced to be considered same class...

  • more hp, more safety features I'll agree in terms of features this car is a bad joke , but I'd still rather own this than a lexus, bmw, audi , you name it . the advantage here is that its the same car(platfrom) they introduced in 19
