  • The narrator keeps on using the word jap, unbelievable.

  • I don't see anything wrong with his usage of the term "Japs"..?

  • @RiChSi this video was made in 1945, that's what they were called back then

  • I new the man that delivered the flag to the guys to put up on the mountain, I also knew another that was a radio man there.

Machine guns were set up facing the landing craft and if the men did not come off they were to be machine gunned.

  • @meronmotors

I'd be scared on either side!

  • Looks so small and peaceful. Hard to believe it was the sight of 4000 deaths. Nowadays, we would just drop laser-guided bombs, bunker busters for the mountain area, CBU bomblets, and C47 gunships.

  • @jeffhanson1 No, actually now our soldiers would be told not to kill anyone because the rest of the world would get mad at us for killing people.

We're still apologizing to Japan for dropping the bomb and killing thier citizens. They started the war and got what they asked for, total devistation. My Dad's 19 year old brother died on Iwo Jima while Dad was in an army hospital nearly dead from the his injury in the Bulge, he was 22

  • Wow thank you so much for your service.

  • I am sooooooooooo grateful for the people in the armed forces that are willing to fight and die so that I can be free.

  • @xxCONFEDERATExx1 You are so welcomed. We love serving our country and protecting our own...I'm an Army veteran (1995-2001). HOOAH!

  • Imagine how fuckin scary to see the americans comming by the THOUSANDS

  • waste of life

  • @thewarrider7 youre kidding right?this island held 2 important airfields for the air raids on japan itself. once the island was capture bombers could bomb japan easier and much more frequent. the fire bombings of tokyo took more lives the both atomic bombs combined. where did those planes take off from?that would be iwo jima. and by the wa you tell the Marine Corps that that battle was a waste of life. im sure each and every one of them would want to kick your ass.

  • @snoopy72296 what i am saying you fucking idiot is that men aka american men have dreams and goals and to just see them die is a waste of life. i am grateful for them fighting but i become sad when i see them die because it is a waste of life. so dont get all butthurt.

  • @thewarrider7 every man would agree: they join willing to die, it doesnt mean theyre going to. they know wat they were doing wen they signed up. you say dying for this country is a waste of life? if you were really grateful for the men and women overseas and risking their life for you and this country, you wouldntsay that it was a waste of life. they died for you and this country. everybody becomes sad wen they here about soldiers KIA. no country was formed without sacrifice.
