  • I meant "trouble following printed instructions". Darn iPhone!

  • Thanks for the excellent video. My wife was having trouble look lowing printed instructions, so I watched your vid and she was floored when I was able to teach her the double. :). Great way to score major "good husband" points. :)

  • @BlakeRudy Awesome! 11.7% of my viewers are males!

  • Very nice video, nicely done and highly helpful, thank you! You are wonderful.

  • DOES IT MATTER WHICH WAY YOU LOOP THE YARN????

  • @lisbeth346881 To grab the yarn and draw it through, it does not matter, but the yarn over for forming the double crochet needs to go around behind the hook and over. Are you a knitter? In knitting the YO goes in front of the needle and wraps to the back. In crochet it comes from behind the hook and comes to the front.

  • @lisbeth346881

    just a little bit

if you loop it forward, it will make the rows tighter and a little smaller.

if you loop it backwards, like she shows us, it will be looser and the holes between the columns will be bigger

  • how do i avoid large openings (gaps) at the end of dc row? they are unsightly & make my work look sloppyy! TY!! Love you videos!!

  • @catlynn1964 I made a video on alternative turning chain. I'll add it as a response to this video.

  • Hi! Your videos are really helpful! Thanks for doing them.

You mentioned about the holes at the end of the rows where we make the turning chains. Not sure if you have a video up already on how to fix this? Otherwise, how do I fix it?

  • @orangecupboard yes there is a video...It's the alternative turning chain. keep following the back to basics scarf video you will find it or go to my channel page and do a search.

  • i keep ending up losing a stitch each time idk how

  • @candigirlc Count your turning chain-3 as a stitch. When you go back across do not forget to work a double crochet into the top of that turning chain.

  • i keep ending up loseing a stich each time idk how

  • That seems complicated. lol. I just learned how to crochet a few weeks ago. I can only do the normal stitch.

  • You are going to do fine. Just remember to keep trying! By normal stitch, do you mean the single crochet? My B2B tutorials show the four basic stitches. Sc-Single crochet, hdc- half-double crochet, dc- double crochet and tr Treble crochet, in addition to the foundation chain. These are all in US terms... If you are in the UK or AU, then these terms will differ.

  • hmm... I'm pretty sure that it's Sc. I'm gonna watch your B2B tutorials and try to learn the other ones. You're really good at explaining this all. Thanks for making these videos :)

  • ooo TY! i didnt know to put the 3 loop at the end! that would make sense now! i have just started learning how to do this...my mom showed me the single and the double! and i learned from YOU how to do the boxed circle thing! lol TY again for sharing these!
