The thing I like about this show is that they show you two types of popular girls. Quinn whos popular but is shallow so for the people who see it your not really sure why people would like it. While Brittany is popular but is nice so you could understand why people would like her. Granted shes not always smart but is slightly smarter then Kevin as proved Daria the Hunter.

After doing further research I found a lot of articles saying that girls generally get better grades than boys (but fewer graduate degrees, lower IQ scores, etc.). I know that grades aren't necessarily indicators of a person's intelligence. With that said, you're in the right and I'm in the wrong.

its a way the show had to mature. 5 seasons of season 1 and 2 would get old. dont get me wrong they were great. but they were one time things. i think it matured in a way that was beneficial. just my thoughts though.

@amazingnothingness that's the thing about Brittany. She's supposed to be the stereotypical blonde-bimbo cheerleader, but she turns out to be smart and even deep at times. Quinn actually develops later in the show, but I haven't watched those eps yet (I only heard that on wikipedia so far, though). On the other hand, Kevin remains the stereotypical dumb jock lol. too bad. At least most of the popular kids aren't mean, though (besides Sandy and Tiffany, that is).

Brittney is smarter than Kevin. Actually, there was an episode where Brittney had more common sense than Daria, (This was the episode when Daria wore contact lenses.) I truly believe Brittney and Quinn are as intelligent as Daria. They just conform to female stereotypes for popularity and attention from the opposite sex.

That's why i love this show. The characters parody highschool, but it does this with deep interesting characters. I wish MTV would bring back this show.

Brittney is smart, yet she never gets to use her intelligence with the people she hangs out with. (I got this impression of her in the later episodes and the second Daria movie.)

Since Brittney never tests her wit because she fears rejection, she appears dumb with Daria.

Quinn always has Daria around to test her wit. She hangs out with shallow friends, yet goes home to a smart family.
