For years now i have considered the first Mahavishnu Orchestra to be the single best band in the entire existence of humanity. After seeing this video, I humbly realize I have underrated them.
The most amazing musicians. The only thing that would have made Mahavishnu better would have been Stanley Clarke on bass. ;) Rick needed to solo more.
Starting at 11:00 is some of the most technical and fantastic drum playing I've ever seen. The individual beats he is keeping is ridiculous. Just look at the intesity on his face! A god of drums!
