@tokyoseoul1 that's how I've learned it to (I'm currently in 1st year Korean at a University). There are probably just different ways to say it. As a first year my teacher focuses on teaching us "proper" and polite Korean before anything else, so I'm going to stick with 이름이 뭐예요? until I learn more
