  • Tyyyyy stary nie masz 1 światła :)

  • Did you just use the killswitch to turn it off? doesn't that mess the engine?

  • @rankore69

Hi. I never dimiss anything out of hand that even strikes me a little odd. It never occured to me that using the kill switch might harm the MC. So I did a little research and thought some more. The kill switch is in series with the ignition key. Turning the key off does the same thing as the kill switch. I assume nobody has an issue with turning the engine off with the key. Ditto the kill switch. The manual is silent on this, so I see no harm.

  • I really respect people, who are riding motorcycle in this age. I really want to know, since you are riding.

  • @tomasson05

Looks like you hit the "post" button before you had a chance to ask about what you really wanted to know.

  • @calvertthedad Oups. I wanted to know, when you started with your driving license (for motorcycle) and how long do you have driving experience. I know, i can call me beginner but I think, I still want to ride motorcycles in your age and i dont know, how to keep my good condition, to be a safe and fit rider. By the way, the FZ 6 have a 4 cyl. engine? Greetings from Germany and a good and safe ride :)

  • @tomasson05 I got my motorcycle license in 1973, first bike was a Honda CB500 4cyl, about 45 hp. I had lots of close calls in those days, but all learning experiences. I stopped riding at age 28 when wife and children arrived. I picked it up again 3 years ago. Safe riding is observing a set of rules. Watch out for the dreaded "left turn" coming from the other way, don't let people tailgate you. Every driveway has a granny about to pull etc. Think of yourself as invisible to others.

  • How tall are you? I'm 6' with a 32" inseam. You throw your leg over pretty good and seem to have a pretty good sitting stance on it.. At 47 yrs. old I haven't seen many - well, .....any riders our(?) age on one of these. :>) My little 883 Sportster is okay but I still can't shake the need for a sportbike. Thanks for the post and letting me shake off the feeling I'm too old for one of these bikes!

  • @ImGrampy

I'm 6'5"...so tossing the leg over the bike is pretty easy. I have you beat by a couple of years. I'll be 61 in a month. And that's pretty unusual to be more interested in the broader "sport bike" category, than cruisers. I've stayed fit so that helps. I just like the precision and power of these machines. Nothing against Harleys, but I'm more of a sport bike kind of guy. My best riding buddy has a CBR1000RR that's been juiced...and he's 63!!!

  • @calvertthedad I was thinking you were at least 6'. I didn't want to guess at actual age because the last time I did that the guy was actually younger than I was! lol. It's cool that older guys still feel the need for speed. The primary reason I didn't get an FZ6 3 yrs. ago was that I just started riding. I wasn't concerned with power - I was worried about too much power and told the sales lady that. She she'd never had anyone come in and say that before. Thanks again for the post.

  • @ImGrampy I'm not a huge speed demon. I haven't hit the century mark yet with the FZ6. My friend with a CBR1000RR thinks I'm a wimp. I do like having the extra power to get up and go. NY is so full of police with radar, even out in the boondocks, that speeding is risky stuff for your license. I rode my buddy's CBR1000RR and although I could feel the power I was never worried about having it run away with me. Just don't twist your right hand so much. Same applies to the FZ6.

  • @calvertthedad I've tooled around on my little 883 Sportster long enough. I've always had an eye on these FZ's and now am going to see about finally getting one! Thanks again for the post. Ride safe! Steve in Illinois
