Sypha's bad life was actually explained in a PsP castlevania game. She was sent to this era to hunt dracula, an era where magic-using women were burned and labeled as witches. She disguised herself as a man and joined the church to avoid persecution and death. After defeating dracula, she is finally able to reveal her identity.
Also, Trevor standing there with his arm around her, a total bawse.

It said that she had had a bad life. I always assumed that meant she was raped and thus very VERY wary towards men. So she used magic to disguise her sex until she knew she could trust Trevor.
But what about Alucard and Grant? I bet they want hugs, too...from Sypha, at least. Man, imagine how many endings Castlevania III would have if it let you replace Trevor with one of the others. Grant and Alucard, Alucard and Sypha, Grant and Sypha, Grant alone, Alucard alone, Sypha alone....
And if you can beat Dracula with Sypha alone, you automatically win all Castlevania games forever. I tried using Sypha to kill Dracula once. It didn't go well at all. :-(
I always viewed this as the best ending. Just something so cute about the way Sypha just does a little head-lean. It's a good way to end a long and great game. :P
no its not wrong, since you dont see her being refered to as 'she or her'' until the end. the ''take him with you/leave him'' thing is what confuses most.
It says in the ending "Syfa has had a bad life". I always assumed that she was raped or had a likewise bad experience...and thus hid the fact that she was a woman. Then when she trusted Trevor, she let him know. Besides Japanese anime/game lead males can be really stupid at times. Maybe Trevor has glaucoma?
Could have been any number of bad experiences, could have been what you said and/or she was ridiculed for trying to be a vampire hunter. As for Trevor not knowing, eh, she may have used magic to disguise herself.
OR...perhaps in a game with a name like this maybe her lifeh as been affected by dracula as well considering she is indeed a vampire hunter. besides it COULD also be a metroid thing where its supposed to slap you with a shocker near the end... im just saying its another possibility that doesnt take some parts... to the extreme.

Sypha was my favorite companion. I managed to get to dracula with her lightning magic, and dracula suddenly became ez-mode.

@Belharg I use Grant simply because he can cheaply bypass sections.

For me this is the REAL ending among of all others in this game. Thanks to Sypha, the Belmont clan continued. Who's Sypha and Trevor's son?? =P

The writers of the Captain N series obviously never saw this ending before making Sypha into an old fart.
NinjaGhostScorpion 3 years ago
True, but then again they were also probably told not to so the ending would not be spoiled, let alone Sypha was in disguise (probably by her magic)

I'm not sure the writers of the Captain N series saw any NES game.

I believe so, she and Trevor were married. That's how later Belmonts in the series are able to do item crashes later on in the series - - -
