There is no "industry standard board". You can use anything as long as your creative.

partly correct. Your right that you can use alot of different sounds but if you walk into any general studio you will either see a motif or a motif rack in there.

Yes and they use a lot of other gear and software as well,so you aren't limited to what you have to use and they way you want to get to where your going. I can A/B compare sounds from a DVD soundset that will clown a motif. Plus you can always sweeten in the mix.

@marv4976 man, if you only knew how many projects are NOT mixed in Protools,as some engineers opt for TOTAL analogue recording & mixing. Protools is the most COMMONLY used but it is NOT the standard. It depends on were you are on the globe. In Europe,they use alot of Nuendo,Steinberg DAWS,etc. You are confusing reality with advertising,as Digidesign are the ones billing PT as THE industry standard. Power voltage in the US is 120v,now THAT'S STANDARD!
