I may not be 50 yet, but I remember listening to this and all my dad's 8 track tapes in our car back in the early 70's! along w, Blood, Sweat and Tears, The Carpenters, and Real Talented Musicians as the past person just said! Herb Alpert was reaching into his past, Louis Armstrong was reaching into His past. It's too bad that today's kids aren't doing the same. Aside from re-making and re-making instead of re-composing Lasting Music!
I was so into rock and roll back in 1962 and this was even before The Beatles and the rest. But for some reason this instrumental track got to me. Herb Alpert may not have been Louis Armstrong but he certainly impressed me with his great melodies and very very listenable instrumentals. Few can say that today as I don't think many pop musicians have the patience and creativity -- dare I say talent -- to compose lasting instrumentals. This one's 50 years old. Wow.
One of the first songs I remember from my childhood. I thought is was odd to be without any vocals. I can even sense the crowd, with their "OLE!!" Thanks.
I have this famous music hit from Herb Alpert on an LP record that my mom bought 4 me back in the '70's. I didn't know it was from-15 years earlier?-It doesn't matter when it was done. It's a nice hit in music from Herb Alpert.
Thank you so much for loading a superb piece of music I haven't heard since I was a child! I never knew what it was called and always loved it, it's so very good to hear it again :)
It is so good you can picture a bull fight going on.
