  • sad state of affairs that everyone knows who Shakira, Britney Spears, Akon, etc are, but this guy goes unnoticed by the general public. great player, great tone and an awesome voice to boot.

  • @mattymick12 What is Akon?

  • @mattymick12 I was thinking just that. But, perhaps if unknown geniuses like these fell in the hands of the public, they could easily become corrupted by the mainstream and the evils of the music industry. They'd lose their purity. Thanks to youtube, those who appreciate this stuff can enjoy their craft and these bluesmen are kept from corruption. Interesting.

  • DAMN I GOT GOOSEBUMPS

  • HE'S NOT DEAD. The one that's dead is the actor Roy Rogers. The awesome slide guitar player Roy Rogers is still alive.

  • amazing

  • This music is the soul and strife in each of us. This is the culmination of dreams and hopes that are derailed by lifes ups and downs. This mans heart is in his music and his soul is at his fingertips.

  • This was perfectly played!

  • Thanks for posting this video - Roy Rogers performance was perfect.

  • Underrated singer too

  • Never heard of him till tonight! SHIT FIRE!!! This man can tear it up!!!!

Sad to learn of his untimely demise. What happened to him??

  • @RedIron1066 pretty sure THIS Roy Rogers is still alive. what you might be thinking of is the Roy Rogers who was an actor/singer way back in the day. This guy is only in his mid 50s, Roy Rogers (actor) died at age 86.

  • ...Many thanks Chum, I hope I never forget that...be well...

  • @rednighthorizon D-A-D-F#-A-D is 100% for sure the tuning he's in.

  • Roy Rodgers you are my idol

  • RR is memorizing~ I could watch him play all day.

  • @6stringun mesmerizing...

  • i saw one of these guitars today for $1,100

i wanted to buy it sooo bad, especially after watching this

  • Why people always asks the same question? what kind of guitar? look stupid.

    ...and music in not important?

  • go check out rory gallaghers slide playin on strats and telecasters all stock he seems to get them to sound good

  • Every guitarrist that has a guitar brand supporting him doesn't have a stock instrument.

Get real, if Fender is buying all your shit, would you ask for a normal Fender or one to your liking?

  • buy stock i ment bone nuts low action and .09 strings and rory never was backed buy fender bought the guitar when he was 13 and had the same one till he died then fender came knocking to make replicas you dont need no drobo to play slide you can do it on anything and still get a sweet ass tone!

  • You believe I will take seriously a guy that write BUY isteay of BY?....

    For gods sake....

  • @365fg hmmmm pot calling the kettle black there dude "ISTEAY" OR "GUITARRIST" and if this is what you have to resort to you obviously dont know what your talking about

  • @365fg yea, usually the musician gets a custom version...hell, sometimes the company even uses that custom guitar for their own line of instruments(buy "Roy Rogers Signature Guitar" for example).

  • Stupid, that's a Semi Hollowed Electric Guitar

Also, stock stratocasters don't work good for slide playing.

Why don't you go and discover there are more guitars than just strats as it's seem you are pretty ignorant on the subject.

  • Well, actually it's a fully hollow electric guitar. Not very many guitars work well for slide with stock nuts. Strings need to be pretty flat over the neck. Tone would be entirely subjective. I wouldn't want to tell Roy too much about slide playing.

  • @365fg rly i play slide with my strat (very cheap one lol) im pretty sure that u cant tweak the bridge to help with the strings. But yea there are WAY! nicer guitars than strats. i want a nice semi hollow body with two humbuckers and a nice big amp with losta delay and wah wah pedals :D

  • No, it's not the bridge, it's the nut that can get raised on stratocaster.
