  • Alright...I think I love these girls. I think that people are comparing it way too much with the original, when it's really just a new idea.

  • Such a bad match of song and (undoubtedly talented) artist it may be genius...

What was I thinking?... Almost worth flagging as 'inappropriate' on YT!

  • WUTHERING HIGHTS-IT MEANS STORMY AND SCARY BUT THIS IS LIKE CANDY

  • Okay so they have talent...but this just dosen't fit. Wuthering Heights is supposed to be a haunting and deep song this is just to happy. It was a good attempt but no one can do it quite like Miss Kate Bush.

  • is the middle sister any relation to the tia-anna who also sang this?

  • i dont find this scary at all

  • i think i just came ....

  • personally, i never liked the song until i heard this version. i think that the original is seriously lacking in vocal talent. this is a different genre, but it works

  • Angels are not worried about the time passing by.

  • Disturbingly awesome.

  • This is brilliant in it's complete departure from the original. Very accomplished and entertainting. Destined to become a classic cover of the iconic song. IMHO. I wonder what

    Kate would think of this...

  • Don't knock it so quickly - it has its merits. I think it's fantastic that so many artists have chosen to cover this landmark song. None can take away from the original by the wonderful Miss Kate Bush, but they are enjoyable to listen to.

  • Lovin the song. Ignore the haters. :)

  • @AegisNova Perhaps 'jarring' would catch my meaning better. That mid-20th-century close harmony group style tended to focus on sunnier themes. Also, the singing focused on careful interplay of voices, it's usually rather tightly wrapped. Whereas Kate Bush's original is about as gothic in tone as you can get (not just 'goth' in the modern musical sense, but in drawing on the Brontes and the Gothic/Romantic type of literature they typified in their earlier works, and the vocals are histrionic.

  • this is genius. kate would love it (probably does if she's heard it).

  • @TheWoodlandWitch66 LOL--alas, they are Italian and British, Uncle Sam not included.

  • A song as great as Kate Bush's original really can't be harmed by radical reinterpretations. This is flat-out hilarious, precisely because it's such an inappropriate choice for this style, and yet they play it as 'straight' as you can.

  • @trapezebear How is it inappropriate?

  • I dig too...it is a blast!

  • I am confused- I am all melancholy (pleasantly so) from versions of this song and now it's the Andrews Sisters. I'm NOT saying this is bad- just had to shift gears. Quite unexpected and really quite an amazingly unique adaptation. I dig it.

  • This is scarier than seeing a talking scary clown in your bedroom

  • Amazing really!!! didnt think you could do that to this song!!!!!

  • Wow and WOW!!!

  • Knowing the background there's only one conclusion: Cheery girls are even more creepy than disturbed girls.

Good that it's not another copy. But ... they apply the same filter to anything. Seems the original doesn't really matter.

  • WOW now this is a fitting tribute to Kate Bush. I've heard the other covers of Wuthering Heights and wore myself out laughing. Truly this cover is very classy and inventive. Kudos to these girls!

  • This is a really interesting cover. I love the mood dissonance between the lively close harmony vocals and the creepy lyrics.

I'm surprised at all the fans claiming this is an insult to Bush, etc. here. I'm also a big fan of the original, but I don't want to hear the same song rerecorded by other artists. There's no improving perfection, and I think it's much better when musicians reinterpret and reinvent the songs they cover.

  • I am always open to new experiences, but this has be the closest thing to a criminal offence with music, as is allowable. I hate that most versions of the song are poor copies of Kate Bush, so kudos to the ladies for attempting to give their own twist, but this twist is wringing any meaning out of the words, please ladies, consider the subject matter of the Bronte novel, it aint cheery! Big mistake in the choice of song to give this fun forties flip.

  • GREAT SONG!!!

  • Alan partridge does a better version of this.

  • No, sorry, it doesn't make sense. Nice attempt. But this sounds like a Christmas song, not a creepy, intense, beautiful, passion-soaked song. They couldn't have taken a less suitable song for their genre.

  • That's what makes this version so wonderful. It goes against type. That's what the Puppini Sisters do.

  • ......derp -_-

  • I love this version :)

  • At first I was like "dear god what they have done to this wonderful song", but for some reason I couldn't stop myself from listenint to it and tapping my foot. :P

  • its seem these girls are enticing Heathcliff ~ Let me in your bed room window.

  • It sounds like Heathcliff has come back from the trenches.

  • Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooll

  • my god, these girls had eaten pitch benders

  • My goodness!....This was a surprise. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Hideous.

    Would I bone y'all? Yup.

Would I pay you to arrange anything more advanced that Jingle Bells? Would. I. Fuck.

  • @thekitkatshuffler

If you are a sick-o loner, you are a sick-o loner. But you should learn to keep it to yourself.

  • In a way the cheery harmony makes it slightly disturbing, just in a cutely psychotic way. Here, "let me grab your soul away" while I smile like a 1940s pinup.

  • this is wonderful! I'm impressed.

  • nonononoonoooooooooo

  • this is superb. wonder if they got the idea to jazz it up from UOGB

  • Wonderful harmonies.

  • This is awesome! What a way to cover Lady Kate!

  • Good try I guess. Wuthering heights wasn't meant for this genre. They did a good job, but nah. I've liked most other takings I've heard better than this.

  • WTF!

  • this is scary shit

  • i really enjoy this kind of 40's style music....but i don't think this is the song for it

  • burlesque-tastic!

  • acapella (without the cheery guitar in the background) this would be amazing.

  • Agree with WOFWD123, who on gods earth thought this track should be completely robbed of all its original power and beauty. This is dog meat compared to the original.

  • How to Butcher a song , I bought their album as I like 40's style music but doing it to Wuthering Heights and I will survive is horrendous, I used to torture passengers in my car by forcing them to liosten to it. Happy days!

  • They've got the Andrews Sisters thing down pat. But, my god, did it have to be this song? Makes me run off to find Kate's original and still unmatched version so I can wash the horror of it out of my mind. All I can say is "YIKES!"

  • @centaureg i cant stand kates version it makes my ears want to bleed

  • I've heard worse

  • @thegotchickdoll Cathy is a ghost and is STILL trying to get at Heathcliff. "Let me have your soul, let me grab it." Uh, right. That's not weird or anything, but it works so well, because with those two, who the hell knows what's love and not?

  • I'm a huge Kate fan and I love this!

  • groan

  • I love this song, this style and the bravery of the three young girls to put a style of music back on the map that has been dead for 70 some odd years. all of you naysayers probably cant carry a tune in a bucket. If you cant hit a note with a hammer tyhen you need to keep your negativity to yourselves. Simply saying you dont like it is fine, but digging on their style or their facial features, now thats what's rotten.

  • they have good voices, but they don't express at all the drama between Heathcliff and Cathy like Kate Bush does. Maybe they haven't read the book yet :D

  • Im sorry but this is ROTTEN!

  • i wont sleep tonight this is bioshock

  • dreadful

  • What a gawd awful version

  • I didn't know Wuthering Heights was a Barbara Cartland novel...

  • I'd be pissed if just anyone covered this song.

    But this is cute.

  • Very nice version of Kate Bush's classic. The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain did this song in a similar way a few years ago.

  • @Jymm - yes, look to the right. It's the upload by daviie.

The UOGB turn it into a mini movie about love frustrated.

  • ol' heathcliff wus a southe'n gent !

  • Anyone know what that Dutch TV show is? I'd like to try to purchse that performance of this song. I undestand it was deleted due to copyrights. Perhaps it could be purchased on DVD. Just don't know the name of the show.

  • VERY NICE SONG,LOVE U GIRLS VERY MUCH GREETING FROM GEORGIA (IN EUROPE)

  • I think this is everything a 'cover' should be...Kate Bush is probably super proud!!

  • the best performance of this song by the PS was on a dutch TV program; it was on YT for awhile and then disappeared; it sounded just like this version, except it was live and done professionally

  • this is sorta scary it sounds like a demonic song

  • @magpiepeck

Ah, I thought you meant "Brill" as in Carole King.

  • they sound like the 3 comings of the anitchrist

  • i love it ^^!!!!!!

  • like their voices and their personality... like their style of music too... but this song... well... this song was made to be sung by kate and kate alone... it ain't the right tone for such a masterpiece of a writin' sung by the goddess of melody... melancholic is the right tone for it, not this... enjoyed a lot of their other songs though; but not this...!

  • Adorable!

  • buena versionnnn

  • coler me in love with the puppini sisters.very kitchey

  • Interesting twist on the Kate Bush classic - they do a good job in fairness, However, no one but no one could ever eclipse the sheer brilliance of the original from Kate. Her's will always be the one and only - the original masterpiece. Let's not criticise others for doing it their way - it's very flattering that so many artists out their think so highly of this wonderful song that they want to record it. A worthy hamge to the unique talent that is Ms.Kate Bush.

  • I love how this style of music is coming back, real music

  • I really love the Kate Bush version, but I very much like this also. Great job

  • woow what a cool jazz version! Their voices are really briliant and they sound very good. But in my opinion they didn't manage to send us the emotions connected with lyrics of that song. In my wiev it's so tragic... And it could make rather cry than laugh. if that girls would like to sing it with that music arrangement they should change the lyrics. Because it's disharmonic. That's my opinion

  • they're entertaining parodies (homages?) their technique is brilliant and it's a lot of fun to listen to

  • ¡Son fabulosas!...... conozco otras versiones y no dudo que sean magnificas, pero las Hermanitas Puppini son mis favoritas.

    ¡Bravo Sistres!

  • Wonderful ! DIVAS !

  • First of all, this is the the genre of The Puppini Sisters, I think they are trying to prove that they can make any song, no matter ghow bizarre and turn it into something actually pleasant to lisen to.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Kate Bush version, I memorised the dance routine, like all crazy fans do.

    Wow, what a rant.

    I forgot, I LOVE THIS!

  • @heatgrud Indeed they put their unique spin on all their songs. This is an amazing version and I hope the girls will come back to do much more music some day.

  • Heathcliff would have let them in, now wouldn't he?

  • @jolf1245 not the one in the middle -_-

  • @Oliveirex1 - get her a cheap nose job and you've got a beauty.

More to the point, would she want someone like you?

    Only askin...

  • @duckbiter In fact, I've got a feeling all of her problems would be solved by my penis :)

  • @Oliveirex1

Men always think that and are so so wrong.

It's not the size of your dick that's important -

it's the thickness of your wallet!

  • @jolf1245 NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

NO he fucking wouldn't and neither would I.

I'd rather let in the Hound of the Baskervilles.

  • @jolf1245 no, because.. well have you seen there noses?

  • @jolf1245 :)

  • Very charming and lovingly done.

  • Awesome, an impertinance!

Such a great song if Kate is singing...

Erinnert mich an die Swing-Version von "Perfidia" (Glenn Miller?)

  • It's like they are almost mocking poor Cathy haha

  • Bloody brilliant! x

  • I like the Kate Bush version, Wuthering Heights is supposed to be creepy in my opinion and this is rather cheery sounding.

  • @TheGothickDoll - so true!

  • @TheGothickDoll Oh but they could easily be three creepy ghosts chanting, listen very carfelly.... it's a clever arrangement

  • @TheGothickDoll It's creepy cheery - creepy as clowns.

  • @TheGothickDoll *woosh*

  • @TheGothickDoll I think this version has the same creepy effect of Clockwork Orange.

  • I've had the Kate Bush version of this song in my head. It is such a relief to hear a not only catchy but a less piercing version. Magnificent.

  • Read the book. Then you'll understand that this version misses the point completely.

  • I think it's you who miss the point. The "point" of this version is gentle, affectionate comedy. So don't take it so seriously: the original still exists if you want to listen to it.

  • Comment removed

  • Kind of relaxing! Puts me in a really smooth mood.

  • Quite good (:

    Very 1940's.

  • Wonderful cover! A straight-up, faithful cover of the original arrangement would have inevitably suffered in comparison, but this retro vibe really works. The took it and ran with it.

  • This is a very good cover...but the original is still first in my heart. I'm glad they tried to do their own thing with the song and not copy Kate.

  • too bad the dutch video of the puppini sisters doing this song was deleted (superb performance & recording)

  • love it!!

  • this song is awsomes

  • yeha, they rock

  • mmmm... they do
