  • why on earth would you choose to go to work by car in london? that journey looks immensely boring! I'd rather go by roller skates!

  • @dyzoly The studio isn't in London, it's in Surrey, so you have to drive there from London.

  • @Money88Honey oh, ok. but then all of the parts when he goes over 20mph are cut out..

  • what a great show all 3 of the peeps are just perfect

  • I had no clue what buggery meant until I looked it up lol.

  • james may, boring? No way, he is very interesting!

  • Stephen fry!

  • Buggery Woods lol XD

  • james is a legand

  • Love his definition of a bus.

  • Wow way better quality then the first part!

  • This might as well be called James May in 3 minutes and 45 seconds because you get everything about him from his OCD nature, all the way to his clever humor.

  • Imagine 'In the car with Jeremy Clarkson'

"Get out of the bloody way caravan!!! AARRGGGHHHHH"

  • I like James' description of a ''bus''. lol xD

  • @MacGyver920 I'd like to hear what he'd have to say to describe the underground trains lol.

  • @debbiethemadbee Yeah! Me too! :D

  • Awesome dude! :) Love him!

  • I should think it would be reasonable to expect that a video titled "In the car with James May part 2" would have a related video titled "In the car with James May part 1"

  • @TheMisterfancypants there is one, and there's a link to it in this video.

  • Cool man (sound is quite awful, but who cares?)

  • I love the description of a bus... Cool man (sound is quite awful, but who cares?)

  • the 34 dislikes are the ppl on the bus

  • @Charapova100 So true!

  • Death by BoolaBoola WTF is that? Is it a word he's just made up? ROFL

  • James May always strikes me as the kind of bloke, who if you got to know him, you would never run out of interesting things to talk about. He was a clever addition to the programme.

  • Does he have a slight touch of OCD?

  • @SaltPepper57 I think he must have. It's not full force OCD; he can function normally, but you can tell the really minor things really get on his nerves.

  • Any chance of putting the other parts up on youtube please?

  • i love james may he is legend!! :)

  • Thanks for uploading this from The James May Fansite

  • @ACjake666DC It wouldn't be the same (I would certainly miss him) and to think that recently it could've been the case :(. So glad he's fine. I didn't really appreciate him when I first became a fan of TG but that changed and gradually I warmed upto the point to where I really liked him and still do. He's definitely my favourite of the three.

  • I just loved the way he defines a Bus xD

  • If I don't meet James in my lifetime, I consider it sad. Although I imagine him to be someone you have to know rather well to talk to for awhile.

  • @EaAddict360 Not necessarily. He can be quite an easy person to talk to but he can also be a bit shy and reserved.

  • is it just me or does he look leka a mixture of Dave Murray and Adrian Smith from Iron Maiden?

  • God I want to have a beer with this guy.

  • I live round there, I have to walk through that wood to get to the train station, I often have to do it in the dark and I only occasionally get murdered.

  • Captain Slow - The best and my favourite Top Gear presenter

  • Anddd Normal People stumbling on this video have no damn clue what Captain Slow is talking about!

  • where he lived on his horse :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • Comment removed

  • i hope i grow up to like james may :D

  • pls upload the next parts!!!!!!

  • I'm guessing the 33 dislikes are from Fifth Gear fans lol. Anyway come on James we know the real reason for Hammond staying over was so that he could be navigator to stop you getting lost.

  • why the audio is so bad??

  • Where's part 3?

  • If they made a show of just this I would never miss an episode!

  • lol the first one had 150,000 this one has 66,000

  • @leaf16nut Nawwww... he's fine mate... no worries (^_^)

  • Great vid......one of the best shows on television. James May is extremely knowledgeable and hilarious at the same time.

  • This is something James would say: Most Porsches go to 4 (gear), but this one, this one goes to 5. cof cof S Tap.

  • UPLOAD THE OTHER EPISODES! LOVE IT!

  • I always enjoy these guys, no matter if they all 3 are secretly gay!

  • @CrimsonRGU then you want to be a mindless idiot who has no scene of direction?

  • @gmancarini1 ???? someone is having insecurity trouble, dont tell me u wouldnt want his job as well

  • @gmancarini1 You are the mindless idiot who can't spell 'sense'.

  • @gmancarini1 Just because you require explosions and crashes to keep you occupied.

  • I like him :D

  • As much as the other two make fun of him, he really seems like the most mature out of the three haha

  • @vettefever67 Not setting the bar too high there, but I agree.

  • you ALL should see part 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 of this in the top gear website ! SOOOO FUNNY at last.

  • Yawn...

  • @LabRat4680 download adblock plus and your internet is ad-free! ;-)

  • @LabRat4680 addblock in firefox

  • What's death by "boola boola" mean?

  • @leronv79 Let me try to explain... Ass. Hole. Log. In. To death. >.<!

  • @Gerwalk1982 What the hell does that mean?

  • @leronv79 It's just a joke, don't know if you don't know it. An explorer gets lost in the jungle, finds a native little town, and he must make a choice, "boola boola" or death. He chooses the firts option, because there can't be anything worst than death... Then he discovers a log that they want to put in his... well... you know... And the last thing he could hear was: "Boola Boola to the death!"

  • @Gerwalk1982 Oh, that's funny I've never heard that before. Thanks.

  • Youtube, What is the best car of all time?

  • WHY THE HELL DOES JAMES MAY STILL HAVE A JOB?? ..

  • omggg ur on the wrong side of the roaddd

  • I reckon if james may had the same hair style as stephen fry they would look almost identical

  • @DarkHysteria Totally agree...Always used to get them mixed up because they look so similar :)

  • I'm not going to drive my Hornet until everything works, everything worked when it was left in the garage in 1993 so everything should hopefully work now, minus the engine that has seized up but I'm getting that sorted this week.

  • Metric is for people who are too stupid to be able to do proper math. It is also less accurate.

  • @audiophile71 Like engineers? I object to being called stupid, engineering is proper maths because it affects everyone, think of that next time you drive across a bridge or breathe in a building with air conditioning.

  • @G1NZOU If you keep writing comments like this, then what else can I do but call you stupid? "Engineering is proper maths" What the hell does that mean? If you mean to say that engineers use only metric, I can assure you that this is incorrect.

  • @audiophile71 Uh, hello.

You're talking to an engineer, what I mean by proper maths is we can effortlessly switch between Imperial and Metric and the maths is what I call Applied Mathematics, maths that has the simple job of accomplishing things.

Ever been told how rocket science is hard?

No it isn't, rocket science is incredibly simple, it's basically calculating thrust and gravity.

"Rocket Engineering" is the hard part, it's the thousands of components that can go wrong.

  • @G1NZOU Engineers are not 19 years old, okay. Playing with toy robots is a good step up from Legos, but a real engineer is a great deal more advanced than that. Lying to yourself and others this way is not in any way respectful to the real engineers who have built the world as we know it.

  • @audiophile71 Right, and my University degree I'm doing I suppose doesn't count.

I've already got undergraduate qualifications and I'm doing one course on Robotics and one course on Engineering Design.

  • @G1NZOU Right...I'm a college boy too...Doesn't make me Thomas Telford.

  • @audiophile71 Did I say I was as good as Thomas Telford?

It's interesting that you mention him actually, my favorite bridge is his design.

  • @audiophile71 Also I'm British and you should know as an Imperial user that it was us British that created the Imperical standard in the first place.

Trust me, the Metric system is much more sensible for cross calculations and the like.

  • @G1NZOU Measuring is a major part of my job, I need not trust you for anything. I also do not care at all about who invented the Imperial standard. Truth be told, the basis for the Imperial measures are thousands of years old and common to many people (finger for an inch, foot for a foot). Until 1983, the basis for the meter was an incorrect calculation between the North Pole and the equator divided by 10,000,000! What utter nonsense. It means nothing in human terms...then it gets worse...

  • @G1NZOU The "Base 10" system that is metric is a confused and fatuous system. If, for example, you had to divide something 1 meter long into three equal pieces (not so unthinkable), the answer is a freaking infinite number! 10 is only divisible by 1, 2, and 5. Divide a decimeter by 2 an you have 5 CM. Divide that by two, and you have 2 CM 5MM. Divide that by two is 1 CM 2.5 MM. What is this? A mess. 12 inches, however, is divisible by 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12 and each inch is divided into 64th's.

  • @audiophile71 As I've already said, engineers use both and don't bitch like you do about the other system just because they don't like it or can't see the sense of one compared to the other, I see the sense in both and regularly use inches as a general measurement.

Both have their uses but you seem to think one will do for everything and balls to the other one, the world doesn't work like that, I can tell you.

  • @G1NZOU If you search "IMPERIAL MEASURES - THE ORIGINS," you will find an excellent article by a REAL petroleum engineer (Sam Malin) who is British (since you seem to appreciate a jingoistic approach to weights and measures).

Stephen Fry says that the national emotion of the United States is optimism and he chose embarrassment as England's characteristic emotion. Right now, would you say that's accurate?

  • @audiophile71 Parcially, I like Stephen Fry and think his opinion is pretty accurate in a general sense.

I don't feel embarrased about being British though, We used to make the best cars, best motorbikes and created the largest empire in human history.

You seem to be taking my defence of the Metric system as an affront to your country, I assure you that I have the highest respect for the Imperial system WHICH I USE ALL THE TIME.

We British find it easy to use both, why can't you?

  • @G1NZOU Oops, spelling error there.

  • @G1NZOU Yes, I love Mr. Fry very much.

Best cars...McLaren F1, early Bentleys, 60's Lotus Elans...Yeah, best cars is subjectively an accurate claim (with stiff competition from our Duesenbergs). Empire is not something that impresses me, but having the sun constantly shining on some part of one's country is certainly saying something. And of course I proclaim my English roots proudly (even though I'm 13 generations removed).

  • @audiophile71 Something we can agree on. (^_^)

Yeah, there is the whole thing about slavery and the like but generally I'm proud of being British, I say best cars because they seem to have the right balance of speed, handling, styling and prestige that made them so desirable.

  • @G1NZOU Oh, yes. I do hope I'm not being too disagreeable. After all, a system of measurement is itself defenseless and sometimes we all feel like sticking our heads in the ground and yell "Midas has asses ears." And yes, so many British cars are fantastic. If it were not for their electrical systems, I would not be driving a classic Mercedes.

Also, if you looked at my Channel Page, you will see that I think the greatest living American is Christopher Hitchens. LOL

  • @audiophile71 We both see the point of each others view which is nice, it didn't just fall to basic insults.

We British seem to have found a balance between Metric and Imperial somehow, We measure our rooms in m³, drink Pints of beer, fill up our cars in pence per Litre and drive them at Miles to the Gallon.

Earlier British cars had decent electrics but I think you're right about the German cars, they just seem to get everything working together properly.

  • @audiophile71 We're making a comeback with our car industry I think, Just look at Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Land Rover, Jaguar, the Arial Atom, Noble and Morgan to see we seem to have kept the cream of the crop out of our manufacturers.

Some of them are now owned by foreign companies but the employees and design are still British, just the financial backing comes from Tata or BMW and the like.

It's a shame Prodrive decided not to mass produce the P2, such a great car.

  • @audiophile71 After all of this metric just seems like a guilt-induced nod to the French. I can use metric and for anything scientific, I do...because I have to. I don't use it for anything else because I have never had any decent reason at all to do so. Every mathematically rational part of my being revolts against the cheaply conjured metric system.

  • @audiophile71 You're not being very fair. Both systems are equally important depending on the field of science or mathematics you are using. Neither is better than the other, they're just different.

Intelligence and knowledge is not based on how old you are or how long you've been doing something.

  • @audiophile71 Really? It's more accurate than the US system of feet, miles, etc...

  • @Freakzone550 Would you care to explain your statement? Or did you just have to declare yourself?

  • @audiophile71 what on earth can be less accurate then a foot???

  • @BBFF95 You have no idea how stupid you sound. A foot is a very definite and agreed-upon length. There is nothing inaccurate about it. Your's is perhaps the most fatuous remark I have ever read.

  • @audiophile71 what is the shortest length you can measure in imperial units?

The metric system is more accurate, and generally better in every way.

  • @BlackRaptor31 It depends on how accurate you need a measurement to be. Optical comparators can measure down to 10,000,000th's of an inch. For more standard uses, the Imperial system's method of breaking up inches into halves, quarters, eighths, sixteenths, 32nd's, and 64th's is about three times as accurate than using millimeters. There are scales that use 10th's of an inch as well. It is pathetic when I work with people who think I am genius only because I can use fractions quickly and well.

  • Metric is better. Nothing more to say.

  • <<<<click on angusturdO1 and wacht some funnie random stuff!

  • Oh when is the last one going up on the Top Gear site? Come on guys I want to see if James makes it there or gets lost. Lol :D

  • whoops, who forgot to edit out the reg plate on this part??

  • 0:01 to skip ads

  • who on earth could find James May boring!?!

  • This is actually good. I hope they do one for Hammond and Clarkson.

  • I don't find him boring!

  • His rambling on is honestly hilarious all by itself. hahaha

  • @Tovkal agreed

  • He's a pretty cool person, knows a whole lot. You learn a thing or two when he talks.

  • Someone wake me up when this is over....

  • To those who wonder what car he drives I suspect it´s a Porsche. Not entirely sure but I think so. Porsche is, as we all know, horrible cars. They look like frogs and unless your name is Kermit you look sad in one.

  • @GeminiPrimeX if its a porsche, you have like 3 cars to choose from. A boxter, 911 or a carara gt.

  • i wanna see your car!

  • There is the bus... it's a sort of biologically controlled experiment.. to see what happens when peoples breath and sweat and other bodily emissions are mixed together in a connived space.

    that one killed me lol!

  • @gekko1970123321 measuring equipment and couple of canaries? rofl Hammond on his horse too lol :D. I take it he means the one in his house ;D.

You mean confined, not connived ;).

  • Oh come on James admit that he used to stay with you so that didn't get lost en route to the studio lol.

James is lovely and I love how he can whitter on about the most boring of stuff and I still find him interesting.

  • @Teckniphobia - I honestly agree with you there

  • Richard hammond had a very hard accident :0 did u know about that ,,, he crashed a dragster ...going 460 km/h .... 0o0 OMG

  • this is the reason why youtube is the best website ever. ten years ago nobody would see nor watch this video, but now, james may can make a video about his trip to work. and people watch it, and even enjoys it!

  • "Death by bullah bullah"! I remember that joke!

  • what car are you in?

  • clarkson made 25 different accounts

  • clarkson made 25 different accounts

  • James is great to have on while you study, kind of like classical music. He drones on in the background, and while you don't really notice it while it's there, you feel like something's missing when he stops.

  • hahaha, he gets bored buy gas. lol.

  • Well done James. Real world driving example a worthy use of time. Thank you for not partaking in excessive superlatives in describing your experience like some of your colleagues.

  • INTERESTING youtube.com/watch?v=EU4cvmk44MQ

  • he's so damn pleasant, lol. fun to listen to

  • nice video

  • james is probably the only person out there that i can just listen to him rambling

  • who's driving the Porsche in front?

  • @Rlh37Videos01 James May? I assumed he had a chase car.

  • @Rlh37Videos01 James, its a view from the camera follow car
