  • who is buying commodities at the same price? They can't be making twice the money if their overhead is more. It's called inflation of price or devaluation of the dollar. Either way the end result is the same. People paying more for less.

  • 0:00 Hey! I have seen this guy before! watch?v=Yloely_r31M

  • I don't trust these people from INFLATIONUS they are just scaring people and luring them to buy gold and silver from their own "business" not that I don't believe the US and the world's situation is horrible.

You're just a stupid being manipulated by croocks!

    Enjoy

  • @eufalobrasileiro100 any half-wit can tell the difference between a penny and a dime without too much thought. what exactly would these 'crooks' get out of me collecting pennies and nickels? noone is making a profit from it except for the banks responsible for money supply..... YOURE being manipulated by your own narrow thoughts.

  • Economics in general is a myth, an illusion and nothing more. why aren't we basing things on real resources in the first place?

  • @Littlegoatpaws

"Economics in general is a myth."

Please, refrain from saying things that are completely fucktarded.

  • Gloom and doom and Austrian economics adherents who do not understand the scientific method as it applies to economics.

  • yeah man the price of rice when up overnight one year nobody had a clou what went wrong

  • It you want a government, you must agree to taxes, inflation or debt, your choice.

  • potato chip index is based on potato chip demand. Prices of houses are propped-up by buyers demand.

  • @eladelantado Right now, house prices are propped up by government subsidies and tax credits to buyers and low interest rates. People who would not buy houses at price X are able to buy it at that price after the non-market incentives, which artificially increases demand, and the corresponding prices. The incentives are paid for by taxes, deficit spending, and inflation.

  • potato chip index

  • Can you please do another interview on this asian guy....He is almost as good as Marc Faber, Peter Schiff!!! what is his name?

  • @bakabusu4 Yes agreed! He is incredibly good.

  • But china will not allow to collapse as they own dollars. So that means that the dollars can't go down. Or there is something that I miss out?

  • @SilverRose09 They own dollars, and property. They will have the help of the U.N. to recover their property. China will be the new tip of the sword.

  • Nobody is going to invest in the USA until the people clean house.

  • great video, thank you very much

  • 40 million dollars an hour in interest is paid to the "PRIVATE" federal reserve system ! Wake up America ! Also $1 is'nt a Dollar it is about $22

    WE LIVE IN HYPER-INFLATION !

  • 40 million dollars an hour in interest is paid to the "PRIVATE" federal reserve system ! Wake up America !

  • Home prices needed to come down because they were far too high. Banks have got to eat the loss if they loaned on the inflated values. Fact is that many of the government programs are working and will continue to do so. Things are slow right now but not that bad yet. Also the dollar is buying more then ever before. The rich are going to pay for alot of this if they don't tax them more now I believe. Hey, it's your choice if you sell your gold to the next dude, and a bad one cause it's up

  • The problem in this country is THE CORPORATION. Every recent man made disaster we've had has been at the hands of the BOARD OF DIRECTORS. If you want real change you will have to change the corporate charter. But who has the BALLS to go up against billion dollar corporations. The tool or vehicle by which elites do their scheming is the CORPORATION!!!

WAKE UP!!! THINK!!!! AND DO SOMETHING!!!

  • POTATO CHIPS AND HOSTESS CAKE PRICES ARE SEEING MASSIVE INFLATION!! WHAT ARE FAT WORTHLESS AMERICANS GOING TO DO? STAY TUNED!!

  • Wow I thought our Euro is going down the drain, but it's seems that Americans are far worse off.

  • @Video

You know how they were talking about home prices... and how there so ridiculous.

In my area, I live in the south, not the deep south... Anyways, average yearly income is like 20,000... maybe 30,000.00 if your working at the hospital or city government. And homes go for 120,000.00 to 150,000.00 a pop... Freaking ridiculous.

  • when 500 oz of silver can buy a new home the markets have corrected. right now its somthing like 10,000 oz.

  • taxation or... inflation ?

  • Anyone know who the asian guy is?

  • @kingofmilwaukee

  • serious shit

  • pump and dump scammers

  • To everyone NOT WANTING to watch this whole thing, CLICK THE TIME to know why so many things are imported into the USA! What an eye opener! 7:06

  • Excellent video.... have to tell my pops not to sell his farmland back in Mexico... we might need to become farmers once again.

  • the 15,366 people that watched this video are clearly the smart ones!

all the rest are sheeple still stuck on their TV watching celeb news!

  • Buy silver, buy silver, buy silver. Buy x-tra food, toilet paper, garden seeds, vitamins & meds, guns, ammo, batteries, and even if you don't use them, all the whiskey, and cigarettes, you can afford. Don't tell yourself "I'll get around to it". Start now and gradually accumulate, so you "don't get caught with your pants down" so to speak.........

  • @TheDigitalWeb lol. lmfao. u made me laugh so hard. instead of doing what you mentioned, why not become self sufficient, then u answer to nobody. peace.

  • @boppzz Right-O! Am self sufficient. Live in the country, hunt, fish, built a chicken coop, own a roto-tiller(got tired of doing it by hand) and grow and can my own food! That's a start, eh? Barter will be the new way to buy & sell. Smokes( I personally don't), whiskey, organic seeds, tools, propane bottles, ammunition for .22cal, .38cal, .556cal, & .308 will also be trade-able. A box of fishing tackle & a GOOD rod & reel will get you some nice dinners!

  • @TheDigitalWeb sounds like you've got it right on m8y. its the only way forward. a simple life is a good life. enjoy. peace. oh and good luck to u. keep me posted.

  • I am learning how to cook, farm, eat, and sell bugs! This is no Joke! This is my way of surviving the future, and I believe it goes farther then investing in gold, or setting up a food storage.

  • @RRbattlefield

bag of SunChips use to go for .69, now im paying 1.29....yet inflation is under control..and im the Chinese president!!!!!!

  • Food doubled? I'm paying the same thing I was paying a year ago at ralphs for the same stuff. Canned food, microwave healthy choice, cereal...

I know there's inflation but I'm not seeing it in food... yet

  • @SKUNKBALLScom

the distortion is already there (in bank reserves) this is the middle point between creating the money and banks lending it to people.... the only way to avoid the inflation is for the fed to suck it back in by raising interest rates to an excess of 20%

  • @SKUNKBALLScom

have you noticed food prices go up a year later?

  • its funny how this smear campaign is going on in the media against toyota and the overblown up action thats occuring branding toyota as terrible cars. This is just an effort to boost ford!

  • @XxgoetfacexX NO Matter what they say I will stay buy Toyota!!!!!!!!!!

  • I agree with you to,I love the free market and a consumers ability to decided where to place their hard earned cash. I have owned 3 toyotas in my life time and one ford, the ford was a total nightmare! the toyotas never gave me one problem! great on gas! and were just GREAT! point being I do question more then just what is going to be the next car ill buy, there is a reason why things happen the or are happening the way they are now. Finding the answers is important.

  • @XxgoetfacexX i have 2007 prius and 1993 camry and both never gave me any problem, 93 camry is almost 17 years old and still run like new, I love toyota and Honda!!!!!!! once I bought chevy and 3 years payment were on it and it was falling apart

  • Me too! TO hell with "American" corporations taking their jobs to India and China!

HP Ceo said, "Americans have no God given right to our jobs."

American corps have NO God given right to our money. VOTE WITH YOUR MONEY.

  • @UnoRaza The corporation are greedy and take the jobs to 3rd world countries and then when they import the stuff back they don't pass the savings on to us. So we end up double screwed. BUT the US government's regulations and taxes only makes the corporations want to leave that much more. The federal government needs to provide better incentives to American factories. I think in many ways some of the unions have also driven the factories overseas. Need to stop treating job creators as "EVIL"

  • @brandon9271

It's funny that Americans call others 3rd world countries, in fact, Americans are broke!

  • @dream2last

not if there is no Toyota's to buy... he just said that they stopped exporting them to the U.S

  • We're also smacking them with the usual regulations; the banksters are pissed at Japan for being smart and telling them to "take a hike".

  • even these guys dont get it.if something is scarce or expensive to eat ...it will get ugly

  • The UN has cut off water to central california farmers again taking a shot at supply and demand.

It appears they want to starve Americans some time soon.

  • @whoismikehobbs Nothing is free but I am all ears.

  • YEAH! lets buy gold coins at a 100% marked up price! IF things get as bad as FEARED in this & similar gold propaganda...LEAD & GUN POWDER will be worth MUCH more than gold. When the fear subsides, gold will DIVE!

  • you guys are all talking about trading gold and silver when the shit collapses, but what will you be trading it for? The shelves will be empty. Gold and silver are great monetary investments. But i think @ this points the best thing to do is stock up on food, water, guns, and ammo, those things will be worth more than any precious metal/stone. And if you dont own any land when this shit goes down...ur fucked.

  • "We are being taxed to death in America..." - 8:40 - No Shit... Fed income tax, state tax, medicare tax, social security tax, real estate tax, automobile tax, sales tax, not to mention all sorts of fees for licensing (fishing, driving etc...). How is it Americans pay taxes on things they already own (homes, auto)??! Even with these taxes, they have enormous gov't debt, and spending deficits. WTF!! If it was up to me, i'd have a communities stop accepting Federal Reserve Notes.

  • the only problem with that is that if you don't accept federal reserve notes for a debt, than the debt is not recognized under the law, but if you had a straight barter system or used silver/gold and didn't have debt.... perfect

  • "using gold / silver for trade is what I was thinking of. and yes... i have no debt.

  • good for you my friend, scary times lie ahead... May God bless and protect you and your family

  • Gold prices is high. If we are sure of collapse of dollar versus gold then of course its good investments. But can we be sure of it? But silver still seems affordable. What about transferring bank rolls into foreign currencies - such as Euros?

  • Myself, I am personally investing some in gold/silver, but also buying a few extra items when I go to the grocery store. Invest first in the things your family needs to survive... i.e. what would really disrupt your life if you couldn't go and buy it today...tomorrow...next week...next year. So obviously food/water is the first to secure, but also clothes, tools, paper products, toilet paper, pet food, it doesn't hurt to stock up on items with long shelf lives on items you can use eventually

  • @danpt2000

tax tax tax.....all more reason why some young people are leaving the damn country!!!!

  • Why can't America compete with China and Mexico????? GREEDY UNIONS!!!! GREEDY UNION WORKERS!!! FOOLISH GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS and conflicted voters!!!

  • you forgot Greedy Bankers, greedy corporate bosses raking in $10's millions a year of bonuses, stock options etc...

  • Damn!!!!!!!!

  • its better to live in the third world country for now..just bring your dollar while they worth something......IMAO

  • @chardnj

I actually came from a 3rd world country and by comparison with what's happening these days in the US, You are absolutely right!

  • FUCK PROPERTY TAX!!!!!!!!!!

  • They can keep the dollar bag of chips.

  • NOW they want to screw us with food.

  • last year Grapes here in texas were $1.99 per lb. 2 weeks ago. it jumped to $3.69 per lb. but when i asked the clerk how much it was she said 9 dollars. i was like oh helllllll no!

  • wow is that for real????? you know with all this policy they are killing us..I will understand if USA cannot grow grapes..yes I will pay that much if I want to eat GRapes..but the sad thing is you can grow grapes mostly anywhere in UNITE STATES. I remember when I was young we likes apple but they are so expensive because they import them..because we cannot grow them in my country,,that i can understand..

  • Meh, the last statement by the guy with glasses isn't a good statement - the dollar is worth 1% of what it used to be... not really... in China, Poland, Vietnam, Germany, India, Chile actually every single country on the planet has manfisted inflation over a long period of time.

  • Depreciation is judged by comparison to goods and services, not other forms of fiat. The 90%+ depreciation is judged against gold, silver, property, stock, etc.

  • That's because they use currencies, not money. Wouldn't have inflation if we were on the gold standard. Currencies are worthless pieces of paper that are measured against each other. When measured against gold they are all falling.

  • Gold is not better only for storage you will pay BILLIONS.

Also you CANT USE GOLD FOR ANYTIHNG!!!! You can't eat it, you can't burn it. Its just as useless FYI.

  • That's a pretty foolish and uneducated statement to make. Gold and Silver have a great deal of intrinsic value. Without gold, you wouldn't have your PC in front of you. Do some research.

  • @profitleads Problem is that gold usually is obtained over a bank. And here you are victim of ripp-off artists again, like banks who bill you for gold and storage they never had. Anyhow, how would you get hands on your gold if they don't like you to? Also "paying" directly with gold is not very practible, specially if there is no more goods to buy, you cannot eat gold.

  • This current situation is unlike any before.

Our President and Congress are hell-bent on obligating the US far beyond its means. Garner Ted Armstrong has been warning about this economic disaster and the emergence of a reorganized European Community for years. Many of his videos are on YouTube, Critical Time - Must See Video - 15 Points

  • @barney1596

    Garner Ted Armstrong?

The same GTA who is also on Youtube

Buck naked at a massage parlor?

The SAME GTA whose father Herbert

said Jesus was returing in 1972?

    THAT Garner Ted Armstrong?

  • Inflation will go on until the masses finally wake up. The sudden awareness that the inflation is a deliberate policy and will go on endlessly causes the breakdown. A crack-up boom rears it's ugly head. Everybody becomes anxious to swap their money against real goods, no matter whether they need them or not and no matter how much money must be paid for them. This is the hoarding phenomena; and it signals that something else must then be used for money...

  • The guy with glasses is very, very insightful. Anyone know how I can contact him or receive any additional information about hyper inflation?? That would be Greatly appreciated!

    Thanks! :-)

  • His name is MustangJake

  • Our minimum wage is so high, foreign companies can produce all the goods, pay their workers, and still make plenty of money. The problem is the minimum wage........ and that's a major contributor to the dollar bubble, the minimum wage will stay level but the amount of dollars in circulation is always increasing.

  • @andrewh817 bullshit, our minimum wage has nothing to do with the problem if anything it is to god damn low. If you pay people more they can buy more things hence continue the cycle of money. If you don't pay your employees any money they can't buy anything except food and shelter. use your fucking brain. peace

  • @filthyfun It's obvious you don't understand the fundamentals of currency or value.....

And by the way, people are working for 5 dollars a day every day in America. THE HOMELESS..... cans, bottles, etc.....

You think any of them would rather be paid 3 dollars/hr at a business than spend all day gathering cheap metal?

  • Price of Food Goes Up = Average Weight of American Goes Down

  • MustangJake is very correct about China's growing consumer society. This might be the only point Gerald Celente is off on.

  • what a fine mess !!!!

  • Mike Kim is very insightful............I wish more people(regardless of race) needs to start using our brains and use common sense.....however, people in our society are too damn stupid and dumbfounded to even fathom or comprehend on educating themselves.....in fields like engineering........

I just feel that we need to be a nation of producers and engineers instead being a nation of borrowers and consumers.........

  • agreed!

we also need to get ourselves back in to the "figure it out, wear it out, fix it up, make do, or do with out" mentality of doing and thinking. I'm embarassed to admit it, but if our food infrastructure was to suddenly come to a screaching halt due to unforseen circumstances or disasters, I know I'd be woefully unprepared. Most stores only have 2 to 4 days worth of stock in store till they have re-order. And if everyone hits the markets, then maybe just a few hours worth of stock.

  • Its not entirely true that the manufacturer is spending the same. The dollar itself is becoming worthless so everything is more due to inflation. Most of the time the manufacturer is using the same dollar to purchase his overhead.

We grow and can our own food. Hunt, fish, grow, learn to preserve, learn edible plants, have fuel........I could go on for days about true wealth.

  • The .99 cent store near me use to carry foods, and household necessary items. Now it has

    mostly arts and crafts.

I am now spending 100% more on foods,

and basic needs than I did a year ago.

  • Great footage. Who is the Chinese gold buyer. I've seen him in other G4T videos. He's the MOST insightful of all the interviews. Would love to see hear more from him. His comment in the movie about Cash for Clunkers being a way to get scrap metal to China? WTF? I want to hear more about that too. Great stuff! Kudos Geo.

  • The chinese gold buyer is mustangjake2073 on youtube.

  • Comment removed

  • His name is Mike Kim...and he is Korean.

  • @tinfoilcap

LOL sometimes you really have to laugh at the really over the top pushing for gold investments. True, it will indeed help someone. But the reality of it is that as the dollar de-values, and gold prices rise, so does inflation. So even if someone has something like $30, $40 or $100,000 worth of gold, the inflation at that point will also be high. At some point you have to convert it to currency to use it to live on. Inflation will bite bigger chunks as time goes by.

  • That zipperhead is one weird cat.

  • Why are all of the Top Bankers Jewish?

Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, Paul Wolfowitz, Timothy Geitner, James Wolfensohn, Robert Zoellick, Paul Volcker?

  • a lot more good info in this extended version, thanks for posting! :o)

  • property taxes are different in every state ... why are they talking about it on a national level.

  • As bad as they make it out to be, they must be talking about New Jersey where i live, cause its BAAAAAAD out here.

  • Thanx for the vid man!

  • when people are starving, the people that are storing food will not have a chance.

  • MsPhuckme: Try to come get my food. Ill be waiting for any of you.

  • Oh yeah - housing prices ARE STILL way too inflated in So Cal. Ratio of income to house price - mortgage payment should be about 25% of income

  • Time to prepare for hyperinflation.

  • He is a Korean, that's why he never talks about Hyundai or LG...just talks about China this & that. Ok, I'm not debating about the low cost cheap products. But, you think the people in China are not buying GM cars, iphone & Rim (Canada) or go to McDonald...etc? I bet if it's a good quality product made in U.S.A., people in China will buy it. And, US government should put simulate programs to encougre small businesses, factories and innovation rather than Goldman Sachs to do more gamblings.

  • This is brilliant advice ! If you have some money (like a $100 dollars or so) go by some food. Like wow, no one ever does that, right ?!

  • the food prices had been going up, because speculators bought commodity futures and derivatives, therefore jacked up the prices. There should be more regulations on the derivative and commodity futures market. The taxes might be a factor, but taxes have been there before and haven't really changed, so I don't think taxes alone can explain the rise in food prices.

regarding health insurance, how do you know you won't be sick? if you become sick without insurance, who is going to pay for it?

  • Cool video

  • my son is in school, i ask myself why, we grow cotton we dont refine it, we ship it to china, cash for clunkers,,, to china. everything to china. WE HAVE BEEN SOLD OUT

  • china owns your country, have you not figured this out yet? mexico will be next.

  • The only person i would listen to in this vid is Vision Victory. The other two are too speculative.

  • NOW READ THIS!

European Union Times: November 28, 2009

According to Soviet Intelligence, Obama preparing military for civil war

    eutimesDOTnet/2009/11/obama-orders-1-million-us-troops-to-prepare-for-civil-war/

  • TAXES = BRINGS ECONOMY DOWN

  • You need to explain the increase in Insurance prices....for example Allstate...my homeowners insurance was $500 a year last year, this year it went up to $850. why? nothing has changed on my part. Auto Insurance went up from $50 per month to $76 per month. Why? nothing has changed on my part. This is bull shit. Insurance is increasing every six months. by more that 50%

  • So they can pay back their TARP loans?

  • too much speculation and BS here...Mexico is not our major food provider...where I live...we are our own major food provider...dairy, fruits, wheat, vegetables...here, in the Northwest. The USA is the agricultural power house...get real

  • The fact your wages havn't increased with the increase in production over the last 30 years, is due to the ideals of reaganomics (liberal economics - low taxes for wealthy, cut in public service and deregulation of banks/wallstreet). As a result capitalism was let loose and look what its done to the average American (or indeed the average citisen of pretty much every country in the world). It has created insecurity and destroyed your standard of living. That is the true enemy. WAKE UP!

  • A 150 year old Document of the elite said they would kill the masses with Soft Metals.

Mercury is a soft metal, it's in fish, fillings as you've pointed out, and Vaccines, to name but a few things.

  • Add into the mix hardly any public services and usually large tax breaks for the corporations and the wealthy, no wonder they are so 'competitive' compared to the U.S and its long (continuing) fight for those freedoms and rights (including labor rights) you all so cherish. So who's the enemy, you the hard American worker, No. You're government who provides public services, police, fire, a military, roads etc etc. Not entirely. Or the values of a profit (not human) centric capitalist system?

  • to import then it is to produce some goods domestically. The primary reason is that countries like China, India and Mexico have lots of people who are payed EXTREMELY low wages and exploited to levels no American should ever wish to be. 12-18 hour days, scheduled toilet breaks, barely any breaks, six days a week, poor working conditions, very little freedoms within their work place and commonly seperation for large periods of time from their families just so they can send money to barely survive

  • @@@ AFXE I didn,t know about what the real deal is about actual working conditions in China; Thanks for the information. I,ll be checking it in places like Google. I am starting to see the same here in the US. Especailly on my job where I am contansly asked if I want some days off, no break guard for me and my coworker to take lunch ( I can,t leave my building unless I get relieved so that I can go to lunch )..all becuase company wants more profit

  • I think this is somewhat exagerated, yes the value of the dollar has depreciated over a long period but, admittedly neglecing the last 30 years. wages have generally gone up in parity to account for the depreciation. So his 1% argument is somewhat misleading. If anything, stocking up on food and neccessaties (on a large scale) will only cause panics in the markets and artificially shoot prices up. Don't do it! Finally. taxes are not the only (or even near to the worst) reason why its cheaper

  • My retirement plan was to eat a can of dogfood every day, to get accustomed to the taste, damm! now I have to change to cat food!-no more cheap china dog food !

    only joking little bit.

  • Debt is also a great way to implement Population Control, if it's just too expensive to have Kids, people will stop.

  • Ya. Japan comes to mind. It takes two full time parents on good pay to pay the rent on a TINY apartment with folding beds.

  • $100,000 my ass. Only in Riverside you get that.

  • ANYONE>>who is the Asian/american guy?

I have seen him a number of times on youtube and he is spot on.........

could listen to his ideas/philosophy all day,He makes alot of sence

  • we are all getting robbed, dosent matter if your American,Canadian,Australian,English,Saudi,French,Muslum, christian, budist all of the people of the worlds,if you are working class, the eletists are the problem of the world not the workers...

  • The average American works 6 months out of the year to pay the government in taxes.

  • @@@ LuxAuterna Very True !!! If I may..I want to share this with you. I work as a Department of Defense private contrator security officer; Shesh!!!!! You would not belive the waste of your tax dollars I see everyday at work like US Navy officer taking govt car shuttle instead of taking public transportation simply he or she is a high ranking officer. Just a small example; I must keep silent about what I see or esle I would be fired. Can,t afford to do nowdays.

  • I was in the Navy and I know government waste first hand. Every tax dollar used for the military is such a huge waste. An example always used is something like a $5 screw. Multiply that by bulk orders and hundreds of thousands of different overpriced products and that equals a huge money pit.

  • Its waste's name be Halliburton.

  • Donald Rumsfeld admitted the Pentagon LOST $2.3 TRILLION Dollars, on Sept 10th, 2001.

That's just Theft, pure and simple.

  • China is famouse for exporting land fill

  • @@@ Investornator Agreed!! I guess this means that not everything in China is paradise. I mean I once thought China,s communist government had evrything under control. Hmmm!!... if that was the case then howcome in the Olympics... the US lady athlete , on the USA beach volleyball team, parents were murdered in China? Apparently , just like the landfill problem you described, China,s communists do not have erything under control. Recnt mining disaster anyone?

  • What i was saying mate is that China exports cheap crap products around the world that break in 2 weeks and end up in landfill,China should be known for exporting landfill, none of there products are good they are just cheap crap,we are being fooled into thinking these products are worth something

  • China a freer market than the US?? I don,t know especially since China still has a commumist type of government? Also lets not the recent problems they had with the baby milk formula and mine disaster? What do you think? In my humble opinion; I would prefer the food safetly standards of the US. Compared to other countries; America leads the world on food safety

  • haha they do you should tell Australia that:)

  • mot in da house....rock it!

  • when hyperinflation keep rising we'll keep using the credit and the debt will rise. But thats the beauty of the dollar, more can be printed based on faith. Not gold. Hard assetts? Gold has a finite life span. To use those things for direct currency would be war!

  • other, people who buy gold also buy guns and ammo.

  • In some places you cant get food to stock up on.

    In crazy towns.

  • The words about Mexcio,s foods is true; I guess this is why I am seeing quite a few more new Latin food restraunts open up in Bladensburg,Md

  • Question for viewers of this video: the 2 or 3 months of food storage talked about.. would happen to mean freeze dried food ?? such as what is shown in websites like Nitro Pak.

  • albc1964 -

You don't need to go freeze dried or dehydrated to store 2-3 months. Canned goods can stay edible for 2-5 years, depending on what it is. Beans and rice have a shelf life just as long as dehydrated, if you protect from oxygen (plastic snap lock) and keep from light and extremes of temperature.

Flour and sugar can go 15 mos to several years, (again, sealed). But be sure to add leavening for breads: baking powder/soda, and/or powdered eggs. Powdered or evap milk is good too.

  • cont'd:

Almost all of the above can be found in your local grocery.

Go for tuna, canned meat soups and stews for protein, add canned veg, fruits and juices. (Note: Juice keep best in GLASS or Cans) & Dried Fruit/peanut butter/ and nuts! (in shell = fresh!)

DON'T FORGET Cooking oil! My choice is Olive or Safflower, as butter for baking could be scarce. BTW the Greeks stored olive oil as "savings" for "retirement."

I keep long term fresh too:

    Cheese, eggs, apples, squashes, carrots

  • And if you buy lots of tuna... don't forget the Mayonnaisse! :)

Also: tea, coffee, toilet paper, BOTTLED WATER, toothpaste, soap/liquid soap/shampoo and CONDIMENTS (SALT, pickles, hot sauce, mustard, vinegar, syrup, spices,) ... Batteries & lamps, CHARCOAL Grill (you can burn anything in 'em.) Got a fireplace? Firewood!

Sturdy shoes, winter coats/boots, blankets/sleeping bags - these are all INVESTMENTS for "hard times."

  • Tuna has a lot of Mercury in it, not sure that's what you want to eat on a regular basis.

  • So do silver mercury dental fillings!

Familiar foods are important in hard times - I would rather eat tuna once or twice a week than canned fatty ham or corned beef laced with nitrates. Weighing the alternatives, I'd eat tuna over nothing.

  • That's why they don't use Mercury fillings anymore.

  • What country do you live in? California?

The American Dental Association JUST RECEIVED an Edict from the FDA this past August to "warn" patients that mercury fillings "might" be a health hazard! (Finally!!!) They have NOT banned the use of them!

  • Moreover, what do you think is used as a preservative in just about EVERY vaccination - including and most of the seasonal flu and Swine flu doses??

If you think you can avoid toxins in our food, the only way to do it is to go completely organic! Even soy is 90%polluted by pesticide making GMOs in the plants - so good luck!

  • @@@ MzProgressive Agreed !! Even in a time of high prices or a major crisis...one should not neglect there nutrion.

  • Ya can't stay home without it! :) :(

  • @@@ MzProgressive... Thanks for the advice concering what emergency foods I should buy for long term. You right especially the prices at Nitro-Pak can be quite stiff. Plan to check also canning, growing food etc.
