Ciderhelm, where is that name familiar, aren't you the guy who, in BC, wrote up a convincing multi page summary on why stam stacking is preferable to avoidance stacking?
If so, thank you. We cleared Sunwell in part thanks to that.
This fight is all about execution, and staying alive. If you have a ret pally, he should probably put up a Shadow resistance aura so the entire raid won't take as much damage from the AOE. And you should probably get a resto Shaman cuz' of their chain heals.
this is meant to be a healing test fight but healing this on both 10 and 25 man its probably the easiest fight to heal, im a holy paladin so all i did was just beacon somone, start casting holy light on mt a second before affect wears off then holy shock whoever is low on health then just sit back and eat while i wait for the next interval. lame fight.
Loatheb does have an enrage timer, but it's not shown. It happened to my party. At about 10k health left, he enraged and one shotted both of the tanks.
The fight lasted about 12 minutes 20 seconds, so if the fight is lasting a long time, please be aware that he might enrage after around 12 minutes.
We managed to clear him on the second attempt in about 11 minutes or so, since our healers did a better job at keeping people alive the second time around.
There's no point in DPS wasting uptime and running out to get the spores, for the first 2 spores have the DPS go out and grab them, and then after those spores everyone stacks up. Since the tank should be first on threat, and the debuff stops all threat gains, AoEing the spores down with everyone stacked up will keep threat stable throughout the whole fight. It's tank and spank from there.
Just a question, does this mean a priests Power Word: Shield would be 100% less effective? If not, this is a place where Discipline Priests could be better then all the other healers.
Patchwerk is blatently the easiest boss in naxx he requires no skill or any coordination. thank's for the video's btw, helped guild progression massively
my guild soaks damage during locust swarm, if my trinkets or shield wall/last stand is not ready or if i get hit with an impale, this fight has wiped us many times even if its our easiest kill
Besides the tank not catching the spores buff .. couldn't it also be benificial for the healers to get it to ?
In particular for paladins .. seeing with average critrating of any healers + the added 50% should be quite beneficial .. not to forget crits are always higher the normal heals ;)
I beacon the tank and start casting my first holy light 1-2 seconds before the debuff wears off. If I'm able to do that I can start casting another holy light so I'd be able to cast it twice in the 3 second time frame. Also with the glyph when you cast your holy light on your melee dps it can heal them all for around 1-2k each if they're stacked correctly. though holy light isnt exactly mana efficient you can keep your mana topped off by using seal of wisdom and meleeing the boss.
when i did this last week- all our dps died, we had 2 pallies, but we 5 maned from almost 2/3 health, too us 23 minuets- but its sustainable for sure. if your a pally healing through this- try to cast beacon of light on the main tank, cast holy light to hit the person with the most damage to them and holy shock another person right after the flash hit, this can all be do in the 3 sec window if you precast. it also heals 2 party members and tops up the tank.
Thaddius on 25 man has 30mil or something along those lines. But you get a nice buff as long as your raid moves correctly that usually bumps everyones dps up 2000 or so=D
Well i think that what he means with "party" is that a group of 4-5 ppl have to stand close to the spore. Not more else you can depend on who will get it. It lasts for reasonable amounts of time so u can kill a spore and dont get next buff but still it wont go out untill the next spore spawns :P
As a resto shaman, i find that when the warning "Necrotic aura begins to fade", it's a nice time to start casting chain heal on your lowest HP raid member, which will hit after the aura is lifted, throw a riptide on yourself, and try to squeeze out a lesser heal on maybe the tank, or another lower-health player.
Priests, i would imagine, would time a greater heal on the tank, then holy nova / circle of healing. Just don't bring anyone with less than 12k hp if healing is a concern for you. ^_^
Loatheb hits like a dead kitten, he casts a debuff that doesnt allow healing for 17 seconds, and he casts it every 20 seconds, leaving a 3 second window for heals to the raid, so the healers CAN precast their heals so that they go off right in that window, such as using a 3 second healing spell when there is 2 seconds remaining on the debuff.
I'm basing it off what the tooltip says (search wowhead for Fungal Creep). Any information currently listed in the Wowhead strats is referring to the 40-man encounters from two years ago.
you can spell healbot with his name, and this is a healing fight.

Organising the spores by highest dps may not be the best idea, it should be sorted by the highest dps/lowest crit chance ratio.
Giving a spore buff to a dps who crits 60% of the time anyway is wasting part of that buff.

lol Loatheb hits like a pillow, 17 seconds of being whacked by an enormous pillow is not too bad when you have 3 seconds of heals ;D lol
icegale126 3 years ago
we just killed him yesterday.
u have 3 sec to heal everybody, so put a paladin on the main tank or a priest and a grp healer like a shaman or another priest for the grp.
It´s really easy i tanked him as a deathknight!
Have fun and good luck everybody!
