  • @thesidrotten sadly, already done...

    dangermouse - december 4th

  • only one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @vendetta920 2 -.-

  • someone made a remake with this for a jay z song

  • A nice, simple, Maharashi-inspired song ruined by too many overdubs and George Martin's needless strings and horns. Note also the whole recording was dropped to Db.

  • @jsmcguireIII I personaly love this song..I think it is nice just the way it is..The beatles loved to use dif instruments any ways..Paul loved that 20's sound.Peaceout

  • @jsmcguireIII are you kidding me? Martin was a genius. Its perfect!

  • @ziggen2434 Brian Epstein was a genius, Martin was another "auteur" producer who wanted to impose his particular sound on those with the real talent. His cheesy mixes did bring in a wider-blander audience which made everyone money. His high point was certainly Sgt. Pepper, but after that, his production was mostly saccharine schmaltz.

  • @jsmcguireIII - i guess its tough to say. The sound shifted so quickly that everyone had to bring a creative element to the overall band. Not trying to convert anyone taste or opinion, the sound progressed way past Martin or any of the Beatles to be something on its own. Its my opinion that the weakest link (if that is indeed Martin) is as influential as the strongest just on the merit of the Beatles brilliance.

  • One of the best ballad :') ~

  • Hey check out my cover of this on my page :)

  • Beatles forever!!!!!

  • 2 people need a severe slap.

  • @eezysqueezy Agreed

  • Paul was a country boy in a city to crowded for his likes. But the world showed him better.

  • Lexus stole this song for their TV commercials

  • This is easily one of their most beautiful songs. <3

  • @PeaceLoveRockabilly I agree. Only one Beatles song is above this. That is She Loves You.

  • Hey to the guy who just lost his mom... bless you!!!!! 100000000000 angels are with you.xoxox

  • It's so peacful and happy. I can't express the feeling I get when I listen to this song. It's just beautiful. I love it. ♥

  • This is just one of those songs that I can listen to many times and not get tired of it.

  • what a beautiful song

  • I overlooked this song completely until I was riding through the mountains of West Virginia and it played on my iPod...I've never felt as serene as that day.

  • close your eyes, this is so fuckin perfect

  • I agree with talalay. This is music, not this watered down/crappy muffled music of today. Of course there are exceptions but most of todays stuff is shit.

  • If you dislike this, you have serious problems.

  • learning this on guitar... never gonna even compare to the beatles though! :)

  • And just to think the guy on the guitar here was the bass player. What wild talent.

  • This is my favorite song of all time!!! Screw you jack white for butchering a masterpiece! Also how arrogant can u be to think u can change a song as beautiful as this; dumbass!

  • @wrd2thebigbird he wasnt arrogant for changing it, and he didnt change it anyway. he just made his own version of the song. the original is still unchanged, so why are you complaining? just dont listen to his version!

  • Damn you Paul McCartney for writing this song that makes me so emotional. Damn I love Paul McCartney! <3

  • i am the Son of Mother Nature's :D i love you mama

  • love this first thing in the morning

  • Man, how does a guy come up with a gem like this? Such a great tune.

  • @johnfright One can only wonder

  • I'm so thankful that we had quality recording equipment invented just in time for the Beetles. Now this song can live on forever!!!!!!

  • The 2 people needs to die

  • @thespreader94 I didn't mean the Beatles re the wallet. That was just about me.

  • Reminds me of Simon & Garfunkel. <3

  • is this song about pot by any chance cause the title would make you think that.

  • @grevejp44 no but iam the walrus is

  • @reetenbow not for what I understand, it was written for one of john lennons school teachers that was reading book with walrus in it to the class at the time of it's release.

  • @grevejp44 well listening to it, the lyrics are kinda trippy so what i always got from it was it was about being high, especially considering the end of the song. so i may be wrong but it really makes no sense either way.

  • @grevejp44 "I Am the Walrus" is a song with a bunch of nonsense lyrics inspired by multiple LSD trips and Lewis Carroll's poem about the walrus and the carpenter in "Through the Looking Glass."

  • @McLen194042 yes, but he also added some random words to confuse one of his old teachers- who was making his students analyse the Beatles' songs.

  • @McLen194042

Nonsense lyrics or not, that song is badass.

  • @Punk93Metal I completely agree with you there. It was one of my first favorite Beatles songs.

  • I'm not going to write a five paragraph post on how great this song is, because The Beatles give songs that are to me, with out words, they are my favorite band, this song only helps the addiction :)

  • People still write music like this. I write songs like this, but good luck finding a record company to promote it. I hear and play stuff like this at the open mics. My stuff isn't as good as the Beatles, but at least I write from the heart not the wallet.

  • @jamesmichaelmelody the beatles played from heart... thats why people responded so much... paul's way of connecting with his audience was and is outstanding.. dont sit there and say he wrote from his wallet... if ur not getting attention/success, dont take it on them ...

justin beiber speaks from money.. not fuckin beatles...

  • 2 minutes and 51 seconds worth of outplaying most of today's artists.

  • What happened to this kind of creativity? Phenomenal.

  • @physicsnerd63 Record Companies don't allow for this creativity anymore - they think they know better

  • There seems to be some distortion. Was it on your video or did YouTube mess it up?

  • One of my favorite songs besides Blackbird. No one since has ever made such an impact, and I dare say no one will.

  • sing a lazy song beneath the sun.

  • Absolutely spectacular.

  • Why can't music be like this anymore?

  • @H7Johnson

The most asked question on youtube that does not have an answer!

  • @bossamerica Amen

  • one of the best songs ever...

  • This was my mom's favorite song, and she just passed away, and i can't stop playing it. <3

  • @GeorgeMalcomMullenix...I'm very sorry to hear that. :( My mom passed away a year & a half ago. I played & sang Blackbird for her the day before she passed...I think of her every time I hear or play it.

  • @GeorgeMalcomMullenix sorry for you. but i understand the feeling you have. it makes her closer like she's there. alive in the song. may be i have "wish you where here" for my dad.

  • a good tune ,,if it was me really true it would be just welsh no brit.

    mrk purple

  • who is that one guy who thinks its funny that maybe just maybe that someone somewhere will write a comment expressing his hatred to that one person, oh wait, crap

  • Aparrently someone isn't mother nature's son. Nice dislike. :P

  • F*** u 1 dislike

  • Thanks for the upload, but you wrote 'Whte Album'.

  • 彼氏との思い出の曲です。

  • This is the type of song John Denver would sing ... Great song !!!!

  • wonderful... a lifetime of wonderful. cheers paul...

  • Beautiful.

  • "Swaying daisies sing a lazy song beneath the sun." <---- POETRY.

  • Whenever I hear this, I picture Paul playing it sitting under a really pretty tree in a meadow of wildflowers.

  • I love this song i listen to this sometime and fall asleep thinking about living on a mountain when i listen to this....

  • @BeatlesAreLife89 I was listening to this on my mp3 player a warm summer day last year in our field out back. it was one of the rare and beautiful times i have experienced true perfection.

  • @pianissimo5 yeah thats so special to experience that. i was looking out my window and i live in the country and it was very moving to me. im like that i dream alot and take time to smell the flowers more than some people do. its a wonderful feeling.

  • this song was only good the first few listens

  • i love how the Beatles have a song for like every feeling

  • Listen with stereo headphones!

  • I love how this song has no dislikes.. The Beatles were the best. This is the greatest song ever. :)

  • I like the Anthology 3 version better. More stripped down and simple. Very nice version.

  • I had to listen to this song for a class in school and now I can't stop listening! <3

    -Shelfy

  • Lennon wrote many melancholic melodies.......... which were all fantastico!

  • @Cromag99 Well, yes he did. But this is by Sir McCartney ;))

  • @Cromag99 Why everybody who doesn't know much about the Beatles thinks John Lennon did everything? You would be surprised to know how many of the most famous Beatles songs were written by Paul McCartney.

  • @Helmut83 before i really studied the Beatles, I assumed most of the stuff was McCartney AND Lennon but mostly McCartney.

  • @29noeld That's uncommon. The popular idea floating around is that John did everything in the Beatles. Only when people study the Beatles they get to know the importance of Paul (and George) as well in the band.

  • @Helmut83 what about Ringo show him some love!!!!

  • I love this song soo much, but am I the only one who can't hear the solo at the end? It's not really a solo, well, I'm not sure, but that's my favorite part:/

  • una cancion que logra hacer brotar unas lagrimas

  • ear-gasim

  • Nilsson.

  • i love this song to freaking death

  • @beatlezrawesome LOL me too :D

  • For Meitha, from her Mother Natures Son. x

  • This song -including every exquisite nuance of it- is a masterpiece.

  • Such a great song.

  • Pauls "doo doo doo"s remind me of an irish flute.

  • This song has a beautiful simplicity and lyrics. The remastering brings into relief the arrangement and production in the background.

However, the incongruous horns seem to vitiate the song's bucolic spirit. A sonorous solo cello would have fit better with the clip clop percussion that sounds like a horse.

I am loath to criticize the genius of the Beatles. But I believe this is one track George Martin would have removed had he insisted on paring down the White Album to a single LP.

  • @ARIZJOE The horns are the Englishness. I miss them these days.

  • Jack White does a pretty good cover of this.
