I hope this one scenario doesn't stigmatize everyone into thinking all teachers are like this. There are individual teachers who believe students have the right to question materials and have class discussions. Also have discussions on class rules, rewards and punishments. This is what teacher majors are being taught in universities now. Too bad traditional teaching teachers have seniority thus new teachers aren't allowed to use new techniques that encourage individual thinking among students.

I think the parents should have just quietly gotten together -- instead of complaining to the school officials -- and planned their own little mock terror attack on the teachers that were involved (and getting the students to help in the plot) to "pay them back". "An eye for an eye" is an excellent teaching technique -- and it involves sight, sound, and the kinesthetic (touch) senses -- which are all proved to be learning-enhancing pedagogical tools.
