The answer to phil 2:6-7 is in the beginning of the chapter. In vs 2 Paul is talking about the church being in UNITY. In vs 3-4 Paul goes on to tell the church that in order for there to be Unity the church needs to humble themselves and think of others as better then themselves. in Vs 4 he tells them, to have the mind of Christ. The church by nature are all 100% human but are told to act like Christ and become a Servant like he did. If Christ was not the same nature as God, this makes no sense.
@pretoshohmoofc Wrong. The passage does say to have a mind like Christ but then it explicitly explains that Jesus Christ became flesh and IS GOD. This is why the attitude of Christ likeness is so important because God came down in the form of man and humbled himself willingly to save us. Christ was by nature God, but didn't hold on to this position, and humbled himself and gave up equality with the Father to serve him on earth. Even though he is STILL God in the flesh, he was sent by the Father.

@incisacult Wrong, the greek word that is being used in Phil 2:6 is harpagmos, and is where we get the english word "harpoon" from. A harpoon grabs on to a whale, and won't let go. Christ didn't hold on to (harpagmos) his equality with the Father. (meaning, he HAD equality with the Father). But let it go. The KJV uses "Robbery" which is an old english world to mean "Grab on to".

The answer to phil 2:6-7 is in the beginning of the chapter. In vs 2 Paul is talking about the church being in UNITY. In vs 3-4 Paul goes on to tell the church that in order for there to be Unity the church needs to humble themselves and think of others as better then themselves. in Vs 4 he tells them, to have the mind of Christ. The church by nature are all 100% human but are told to act like Christ and become a Servant like he did. If Christ was not the same nature as God, this makes no sense.

Christ was by nature God, but didn't hold on to this position, and humbled himself and gave up equality with the Father to serve him on earth. Even though he is STILL God in the flesh, he was sent by the Father.

@incisacult Wrong, the greek word that is being used in Phil 2:6 is harpagmos, and is where we get the english word "harpoon" from. A harpoon grabs on to a whale, and won't let go. Christ didn't hold on to (harpagmos) his equality with the Father. (meaning, he HAD equality with the Father). But let it go. The KJV uses "Robbery" which is an old english world to mean "Grab on to".

You just choose to say what you do because your presuppositions claim that Jesus is not God and saying "You O God" violates your theology. Most Bibles do not translate it the way you do. In fact, the ASV, KJV, NIV, and NKJV all translated it as "Your throne, O God..."

@2008believer There is no grammatical requirement for INCs translation. Most bibles take the verse in its plain, straightforward sense, as do the ancient translations...So you are wrong. History proves you wrong as does your fake greek knowledge. Your presupposition is wrong. Also its a quote from Psalms 45:6 which says exactly: "Thy Throne, O God, is forever and ever." Either way logically the Father is talking toward the Son and claiming that verse. INC interpretation is simply wrong.

Why is legei [greek] which is translated as 'He Said/saith/says' not found in Hebrews 1:8? Because its not there. Therefore God wasn't speaking in Hebrews 1:8 as you claim, you cannot disprove this. Use any text if you can - sinaiticus, vaticanus, alexandrinus, receptus, etc... its not there.

@2008believer Who is speaking then? It is pretty clear from the context that the author is talking about how God says a bunch of things. Verse 5 says "Which of the angels did He ever say..." and it keeps going and in 6 "He says," and then 7 "Which of the angels did He say" and then verse 8 "about the Son." It is self evident that the Father was speaking about the Son as God. You have faulty greek knowledge.

Indeed in verse 5 - it is written eipen [greek] for he says about the angels.
verse 6 - yes it says legei[greek] he says about the angels again.
verse 7 - True it says legei [greek] he says [english] about the angels once more.
verse 8 - its NOT written LEGEI/EIPEN[greek] HE SAYS [english] in that verse. He motioned - PROS[greek]TOWARD[english] the son. God DID NOT CALL his son God. That is TRUTH.

@2008believer It does not matter if it says "HE SAYS" or doesnt, the point is its obvious God is still talking. You dont just cut off from midpoint of a paragraph talking about the same subject and then say "Oh all of a sudden he is no longer talking!" it makes no sense. Its the same person talking, "About the angels he says.......but about the son,..." its common sense. He says does not mean Father God was not talking anymore. This is a really poor argument.

What God says is TRUE in the past, present and future. If God did become a man, then he lied. Yet that is impossible because:
Hbr 6:18 ...in which it [is] IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE...
Therefore your god is a liar, my God isnt.
