im a softball player in australia and i have played baseball for a regional team and the QLD coach thinks i might make Queensland next year for softball. but i was wondering how could i get chosen for a college team and what is the chances of it?
@Daustinsmith14 it doesnt matter how hard he swings just where the ball hits the bat some pros swing faster than him and they dont break bats all the time not taking anything away from him i believe he is the best overall player there is but your just wrong no offense
@ecdcheerleader Are you kidding me?! No offense?! Go look up his 502 foot homerun, go look up his collage stats, and go look up his afl stats they are all great. He has plenty of offense.
@Daustinsmith14 he never said he doesnt hit well lol but your still wrong.. it doesnt matter how hard you swing its all about where it hits the bat dude.. certain spots shatter the bat.. it happens.. come your boner down
@Daustinsmith14 Did I ever say it matters how hard you swing? No, I did not. He said he had no offense which is wrong why don't you get off that guy's dick.
@ecdcheerleader What the hell are you talking about! If you play tee ball and you get a wooden bat and you hit it on the handle its not going to break immediately you have to swing hard to break a wooden bat!!!
The label should face up or down, that way you hit with the grain, instead of against it. It is much more likely to break the bat if you hit against the grain.
@ZzSmacKyzZ you know what is weird? he hit both those pitches on the meat of the bat when he broke them you can tell by the sound. Ive never seen that before.
@Mickeydrews lol how did you know he was hitting the ball on the wrong grains??? how can you tell from here lol i mean im not being a smart ass but seriously... i cant tell if he has the label in the wrong direction
@TheDJ596 u can tell a bit actually, the label is facing back, atleast i kno thats what i see, and when a bat breaks thats also a pretty obvious sign hes holding like it
@BTDeDiiTz the label is supposed to face the catcher or the pitcher, you can hit with it those ways right? In the video i cant tell how hes holding the bat i tried to look but i cant. He had to be holding it wrong because he hit those balls on the meat of the bat and they snapped and the only way you can snap a bat is if you have it the wrong way.... you have a better chance of not breaking it if you dont hit it on the sweet spot when youre facing the label the correct way
Poeple say he missed the high scool years, but what did he really miss? Being walked 42x/year? Not going to prom? Missing homecoming? They say he's only 16. Yeah, but he's the exception, not the rule. Time will tell.
You got a lot of talent kid and you deserve credit but nothing is guaranteed. And if baseball doesn't pan out you're going to look back and regret not enjoying high-school and living and enjoying those days out.
Honestly I think it was stupid to have his dad pull him out of high school for his last two years. Truthfully don't know if he is ready. Saw him this summer in the Cary NC USA Tournament of the Stars in that game he went 0-4 with 3 K's against a Legion pitcher from the Cary NC area who is decent. From what I heard he ended up going 1-13 with 8 K's. This just shows everyone is human. In my opinion his dad made a mistake pulling him out of high school. Whatever floats their boat though.
let me break something to you good people hitting is 90 percent natural talent you cant teach someone hand eye coordination or soft hands. this guy does NOT have NATURAL talent he has an amazing work ethic and started playing the game when he was 3. Pujols started to play the game when he was 16 Alex rodriguez when he was 10 they are where they are now because of their Talent. If it were only hardwork that was required to get into the mlb we would most likely all be major league hitters.
Bryce Harper is a filthy 16 year old....i dont think it was a smart move to go to college could have made way more money if staid in school for the other 2 years but then again its a quicker way to get to the pros either way i support him hope to play against him soon
uhm i play for Boston College you dumb fuck what are you ...??? a fat slob with the same old bullshit of when you used to play....your those old ass guys who talked shit and never did anything Mike Denhardt Boston college and some day ill pitch against Bryce
way to be overdramatic about the comment, hope you dont get like that on the mound.
thats weird too because on boston college's roster theres a mike dennhardt, but no mike denhardt? can you just not spell your own name, you're a tool shut up.
Yea...totally got me too with being a fat slob...actually i play at saginaw valley state
The roster says Dennhardt, so either they fucked up or you really aren't who you say you are...and if you are who you say you are, you had a 4.96 ERA last season, so don't act so full of yourself
ok first off to think the whole state of nevada sucks your just ignorant and this kid has gone up against the best pitching in the country and dominated at the area codes he didnt do that great at the all american game so what everyody has bad games and ps one of the best 2010 players in the nation is from Nevada Kris Bryant
remember.. hes 16 years old and has about 2-3 years at the least to get ready, fix whatever he needs to fix and be on his way in the majors. i hate how people expect too much from him.. yeah hes really good and has major talent but all who speak badly of him. if your better than him you can talk it, otherwise i think we should support him more than point out his weakness.
NL59 have u ever heard of having a bad game they kid is human u know ur not gonna get a hit everytime u dilwid specially against the TOP PLAYERS IN THE COUNTRY ur the retard and promise i play ball bro the fastball is what u wanna hit but MLB are the ones can who lay off the nasty sliders and sit back on changeups.
These people who knock this kid are pathetic man..I mplayed d1 ball for 4 years and professionally for 2, until I destroyed my arm... they forget the kid is 16...hes a true phenom, and it amuses me these 30 year old who shit at home on the internet and give him a hard time...he'll make and EARN more money playing baseball before the age of 21 than they will in a lifetime
if you break two bats in bp ur honestly not that good. i feel bad your him. even the way he stood around feeling bad for himself after he broke both bats lets you know he is a immature player. he was over matched at the aflac game. he is def not ready for pro ball yet. he is def a good hitter but he needs to mature much more. he is def acting his age and as soon as you do that your game is thrown off in the eyes of whatever organization your with and most important your teammates
if u break a bat at battin practice that doesnt make u a bad player u arent just going to waste pitches for batting practice and if u look at when he broke the bats it was hit close to the sweet spot and what is with u saying def?
fastballs up and in ALL DAY, that'll do it. with a huge load up like that, hes gonna have to shorten his swing if he wants to catch up to "great" PITCHING
well no shit he hasnt faced pro pitching hes 16. he has faced some of the best pitching out there and im not talking about regular high school ball.invitationals like area codes, and the turny of the stars, and UA national teams and stuff.
Obviously you've never played baseball on a competitive level. You don't get to the bigs by hitting heaters dumbass. I could hit mid 90's fastballs in high school. My whole team could. Everybody in the college and minors can hit fastballs. The guys that make it to the MLB are the ones can who lay off the nasty sliders and sit back on changeups.
Don't talk until you know what you're talking about scrub.
arttard if you cant catch up too hit and pitchers know that you think they're gonna throw some offspeed to you? what i meant i that he can't catch up to heat with such a big load. fucking retard.
Wow, you can't even talk. What're you in 6th grade? Anyway, the kid's swings have been recorded up to 125 mph. I'm pretty sure he can catch up to a fastball.
Once again, don't talk until you know what the fuck you're talking about. Actually, just stop watching baseball, please. Basketball should be a little easier for you to follow.
hes faced some of the best talent out there in the area code games all of witch are pro prospects not to mention he was only 15 out in cali facing 18 19 20 yearolds, and what is he now 16 faceing some of the best juco pitching out there.hes fine dude leave him alone worry about your own game
idk im most of you know but the avg H.S fastball is 78-80 mph... thats so shitty and i doubt any1 in nevada is a good pitcher so when he bats against real pitchers who can pitch faster than a 4 yr old we'll see how he does
lol your a fucking retard. he went to a showcase and dominated the best pitchers in the united states. and nevada is a pretty good baseball state too, so there you go, you're one stupid fuck.
lol Las Vegas has just as good prospects anywhere else.... many kids top out at 90-92 and there are many great players out there. Subscribe to vegasscout, watch his videos.
Well in Texas, especially here in the Houston area...almost EVERY highschool team has one or two pitchers who throw 88mph +. I'm not sure about the skill level of the Nevada Highschools
He's going to have to get rid of that little loop in his swing and he'd do well to adopt a more Albert Pujols-type toe tap as opposed to the hitchy leg/foot thing he does now.
He generates crazy bat speed, but he has holes that will get exposed if he doesn't adjust.
Should be interesting to see how he develops, and I for one am rooting for him. I hope he can shut up all the people who think he's making a mistake by dropping out of high school.
ur rite about his crazy bat speed and his holes... lets just hope he's not one of those guys that are supposed to be the next superstar and then fail under the intense pressure or like u mentioned, inability to correct his mistakes.
His bat speed is about as fast as mark McGwire in his prime. So yeah....
