American Apparel is genius! I don't know why other retailers aren't cashing in on this 'basics' craze---it's so simple! I work for H&M, and people are constantly asking for 'deep v' t-shirts (our t's aren't deep enough, apparently). Obviously I don't buy AA, but I love their product and marketing.
