@snappo20 i had and still have loads of problems with this bike ... is at the dealership now again for stalling issues, rocker cover leak and other stuff. Had engine rebuilt at around 14500 miles, but still love it ! Hopefully it is now fixed and get it back tomorrow. Apparently the newer models don't have these problems, maybe they used our earlier bikes as guinea pigs ;) It's a lovely bike ... we leave London for Cape Town in September on these ...
Ok, so I gather you have owned this bike for a while now... Have you installed knobby tires yet? If so, I was wondering how well the traction was on road with the off road tires. Love the bike, I am really back and fourth on this or a thruxton. The accessories are so damn expensive for BMW's!
@NotAnotherClinton Yeah .. had it for about 15 months now. Never really had the need for knobblies, but just returned from Wales at the BMW Enduro park for some Off Road training, sooo much fun, videos to follow very soon ! On road I felt no difference in traction, felt just as good as my road tyres.
@Lupo1ce well this video was on the day I have received it almost 18 months ago... check my latest video and at the end I have a shot of the bike. Since this video I have done loads of mods, new touratech comfort seat which is nicer than the stock and also definitely prefer the LeoVince to the stock. We have done 7 days, 2500 miles around Europe once with the stock seat and my ass was killing me, motorway riding I was hanging off the one side of the bike just to give my ass a break.
@andreels ah thats bloody annoying! looks like even more money to spend on the bike :( I'm picking up my F800GS Lava orange on June 15th - and have probably spent over 4 hours on youtube looking at bike videos :(
What made you choose the leo vince exhaust rather than the others? The one thing i hate about other bikers is many of them have a stereotype about BMW riders - so with an aftermarket exhaust i hope they see me as not a normal beemer rider! I was thinking of the Remus Hexacone exhaust.
@Lupo1ce you will always spend more money on the bike .. believe me, you will. Handguards, bashplate, crashbars, new screen, new seat, panniers, top box, etc ... list goes on, I probably spend way more than £2000 extra already ... check the ukgser forum under 800 section for some more info on exhausts
they wont never admit because everyone likes the engine of the GS1200R, i thik that is what makes it more money, it shakes like hell and my hands feel weird, love that 800 it feels like a 600cc when you twist the throttle, it is so fast, and it cruises so smooth again it feels better then the 1200.
@flightestman thanks ! Yes, I also think so .. if you check some of my most recent videos, you will see I rented a 1200 in South Africa for 2 weeks and I did not enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 800 .. I also think its a good choice :)
I jsut got my license and am going to get an F800 R. I wanted the GS, but I cant reach the floor lol Never the less, the R is one stunning looking bike.
JukkeX .. no idea why. I have also noticed it, but haven't noticed it with the naked eye yet ... maybe it is something to do with the refresh (frame rate) on a camera that makes it look like it's flashing ? I'll check it out again to make sure ;)
Fully understand. Doesn't matter what it is.

@andreels Well i have bought it with:
Comfort package; Handguards; Panniers and Top Box
I was thinking abotu crash bars; but touratech and BMWs don't seem to look that good!
Then thinking of a tinted front screen from BMW.
I hope to see you around London town :)

@andreels look at adventure-spec for crashbars !

OK, so it's a bit same as if you look TV through camera.
JukkeX 2 years ago
Definitely, I checked it over the weekend and it's only on a camera when it looks like the brake light is flashing.
andreels 2 years ago
Why is the rear light flashing? I saw it flashing in some other video of F800GS too.
