Watching this, you see how this small woman can fill a huge arena with her giant talent and her ability to speak to each audience member as though it was just for them. Brilliant, as they say in the UK.
OMG! I've never heard or seen her perform this LIVE! THIS is my absolutely FAVORITE Diana ballad, and my lover for her ballads stretches back to "A Breathtaking Guy".... Excellent clip!
have always loved this song. never knew there was a live performance available to watch. thank you sooooo much for posting this beautiful woman singing this beautiful song.
A good example of why she is one of the best interpreters of lyrics. Her voice was perfect for this song at this point of her career. She'd developed the low notes but had not yet lost most of the high notes.
amazing performance of one of my favorite Diana "non-hits" which is truly criminal; the material Ms Ross has put out in the last few CDs is just terrific but no one knows any of it (except we hardcore fans); just saw her perform at the St. George Theater in Staten Island, 03/20/11, a date which will go down in infamy for her legion of fans; the crowd was great; Ms. Ross was even better! truly an unforgettable final leg of this tour -- hope the next one (in the US) won't be too long a wait -- !
Not really one of my favorite songs by Miss Ross, to be honest with y'all, but damned if I don't find her performance of it enchanting. Thanks so much for posting this video Niles!
When she did it in Detroit, she broke down and cried and the end as we gave her a roaring standing ovation! She then said "Whew! I need to cheer myself up!" and began singing "First I was afraid...I was petrified..." and we ATE IT UP!
OMG Too!! What RARE footage of the classic "Miss Ross" that I have loved and adored since the beginning of her career. I would have loved to have seen this live! Thank you SO much for posting this wonderful video of Diana at her best!!
I saw her do this at Garden State Arts Center in New Jersey in summer 1995. I loved her performance of it. Very similar to this one. I don't remember if she did it at Radio City a few months later. But I think it's a very impressive song and one of the best from her late career. During the 90s her performances had become uneven. Sometimes a gem like this; other times scratchy, off key and temper-inducing. Thanks for posting Niles! You are the best Ross poster!
Saw her perform this in las vegas at the old ceasars palace theater. She was loosing her voice that night but when she sang this song it came back. After she sang, she said wow where was this voice all night. It was unforgetable.

Dlaczego nagrania z koncertów są tak wzruszające? Nieliczni artyści mają taką aurę. Kochamy ich za to i szanujemy , myślę że z wzajemnością.
