So much of the poignancy of this for me comes from the idea of the difficulty for a man to express homosexual desire (at the time she choreographed this). Here he is using the pre-existing heterosexual expression of desire (the woman's voice singing this song) and is trying to find a way to translate that into his own body. He is interpreting the desire found in the song into a new language that is his own. Yet he stands so still in a suit, his movements so restrained...

Agradeço ao mundo por ter criado gente como Pina Bausch, cheia de talento, coragem e irreverência. Esta é talvez a coreografia com mais significado que alguma vez vi. O facto de ser dançada por um homem, que enquanto gesticula canta, torna esta performance ainda menos normal. Porque de facto Pina detestava a normalidade por não criar mudança.Os risos durante a segunda parte do vídeo, mostram que a maioria das pessoas não compreende este tipo de linguagem, não gestual mas visual.
