  • 86 was an underrated year, as much as he was a strugglin man..sick shows at red rocks, mardi gras kaiser jack straw was mind blowin, ...alpine , i think better than 89...

  • @MrSharkey11

"Real smart of him" to be diabetic and not know it, you mean ? Yeah, Sharkey, way to go.

  • love this song, every time.

  • 3 people have no soul.

  • God I Miss the Grateful Dead

  • My comment is...I saw Jerry And The Dead 3-24-1988,@ THE OMNI INTERNAIONAL in Atlanta GA, the night my (almost) 22 year old was conceived... His dad was the "BIGGEST DEAD-HEAD" I'd ever met....May he R.I.P. Anyway my 22 year old loves 'em AND Wide Spread Panic. I am always grateful to say I saw them not just once, but twice...4-09-89 @ THE OMNI again. This song was my most memorable the first concert & the second was Alabama Get Away/Love&love not Fade Away.....AWESOME COMBO!! R.I.P. Jerry!! (o:

  • my dad told me tht wen the dead went to the spectrum philly became over populated with hippies. they interviewed jerry and the interviewer asked "well wat about the people who say tht the grateful dead is all about drugs?" jerry said " thts complete bull shit. if all ive done in 40 years was spawn a generation of drug addicts then u missed the boat. and everyone who thinks tht has missed the boat."

  • Need the Boys today....

  • JERRY IS SUCH A ROCKER.

  • Tooodellooooo!!

  • Was this the show jerry opened up the second set with?

  • im a fourteen year old daughter of a deadhead. this music just rubs off on you. you cant listen to it your whole life and ignore how awesome it is.

  • this one was hotter

  • was at this show too....sick but the 87 roanoke run was priceless and the missipi there was pretty much up there........god bless Jerry

  • was at this show too. stands out for sure

  • I went to all these Philly shows. Something about this version of Half-Step makes it stand above any other I had heard in the 130 or so shows I attended.

I guess you had to be there. I was on the floor surrounded by heads that simply LOVED the music. There was a collective, communal feeling in the crowd. Also this show had probably my favorite Lost Sailor. Just a high-quality show all around.

  • i wish thegtuy tapeing focuesed on jerry

  • i wish i was alive when jerry was around im only 12 and my dad listens to them and loves their music and i started 2 like em and ive seen some rat dog concerts and dso but it can nver be the same w/o jerry R.I.P. Jerry Garcia

  • im 12 too, my dad loves the dead. me too. and i went on Dead Tour 09 and saw the first three shows.

  • im the same way im 11 my dads a deadhead and i love their music i advise you check out the band further its bob and phil with the lead guitar player of dso

  • @staples216 i feel your pain im 16 so still no dice why would such an amazing person have to be taken

  • @staples216 im 14 same here my dad listened 2 the dead all the time when i was little. its just such great music. its a lifestyle.

  • @staples216 , Hey kid, the closest you're gonna get is Phil Lesh & Friends on a really good night! Forget about ratdog! They don't come close to Phil! Phil's the one that's really carrying the torch for jerry and the DEAD! Ask your old man, he will tell you! Peace to you!

  • @staples216 good for you kid. keep it up

  • @staples216

Fudge yeah kid. I WISH I knew about the Dead sooner. 20 is too late!

They should teach the Dead in elementary school!

  • @staples216 you are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i felt like i was too young, when i snuck out of school in '85 to catch spring and fall tour. you make your dad proud. there's nothin' like this- seriously. " 'nailed a re-tread to my feet and prayed for better weather" seriously- props to dad( evidently, he raised you well). and you, darlin. keep the faith. you don't even know how much you're needed.

  • @staples216 I wish you could have seen a Grateful Dead show as well best time I ever had. The greatest show on earth. Because they weren't the best at what they did. They were the only people who did it!

  • @staples216 I hear ya, I'm 27 and just barely missed seeing the dead with Jerry. The thing is it's all there for you to listen, and that's what's important. The dead's music is timeless and meant to be heard by future generations.

  • I love the lazy river part. I think this is one of their best songs by far.

  • miss you Jerry

  • if itscalled mississppi halfstep uptown toodeloo then why do they say halfstep mississipii ect.

  • It's a half-step too fast. hah

  • haha weir..

  • Jerry's guitar work is sadly missed thank god for the memories

  • 2:25 "keep your clothes on ..out there"

  • ha ha!

  • although i dont know if you downloaded this from someone else but please slow it down and show it the way it was meant to be heard and seen

  • it is a tad fast....but enjoyable, better than my cassette of the spectrum shows! At Least we got footage, that makes up for the fastness. Im sure you agree unless you were lucky to have attended these concerts!

  • shut up.

  • huh?

  • Its a tad bit to fast? what are you complaining about. Just enjoy it.

  • PUNKROCKERDUDEBRO: Glad to see you jump from punk rock to Good 'Ol Grateful Dead music. I'm assuming, punk is your fav music. Every Punk I ever knew, liked Punk & that's it!! Those dude's hated GD &Beatles..don't know why?......i guess punk rock fans have an edgy, arrogant, and mindless attitude.....Not us DEADpeople we like all music(s) or at least have the will to listen to something different. "SHEENA IS A PUNKROCKER,NOW"

  • idk man i like punk, greateful dead, zeppling, floyd, beatles and even jazz and some hip hop

  • Bobby said "hey, keep your clothes on out there."2:24 in

  • jerry's voice sounds ROUGH...

  • Yeah rough in a perfect way.

  • i just saw ratdog w. bob weir yesterday. They did the best version of this song. Allen Woody came out and played for this song

  • i was there at jones beach at that show and allen woody didnt show up... but they did do a kick ass version of mississippi uptown

  • wait, who was the fat guy with red long hair?

  • Youre talking about Warren Haynes, he plays with Gov't Mule and the Allman Bros.

  • yeah my bad. I was confusing the two b.c they had the video of allen woody in the back during the show

  • If you are talking about Allen Woody the bass player, he is no longer with us. RIP

  • not bad but i think tony spinelli version

    is better

  • toodooloo.. what a fantastic song. not a great version but what a song!!!

  • What does Weir say @ 2:25? It sounds like keep your clothes on there.

  • backstage? you lucky bastard.

  • 81 thru 89 seem to be my fav. years. There will never be anything like that scene in concert touring ever again.

  • Oh man...sweet cut
