I'm pretty skeptical of that tonearm. I don't doubt that it works and it doesn't skip, but there's a lot of science and complicated maths that go into making a tonearm that does those things with minimal record wear. That thing just looks like some bits of aluminum stock from home depot that someone slapped together.

Also, Q-bert is the greatest scratch dj ever.

@brandonshreds -- I made a special tangential micro tonearm - you can cue up anywhere on the vinyl but it stays on the chosen point and holds about 10 revolutions ...before skipping back.

this thing is dope.i too have a qfo,which is fresh,yet this is another species of scratch instrument.mad respect to the kat that made this.when people see someone on stage killing it with this,it will help the art form be finally recognized.true pioneer,like flash,who never got the credit for inventing the cross fader.this guys name will forever be in scratch history.i want one like today.

I own a QFO, and it's not portable in the way that the Scratchophone is. Q is able to scratch out of his car on the beach because he plugs it into his car, but when he's at the cove on the beach he also brings a small solar panel to power it. Either way, you still need speakers and a source of power to make the QFO portable.

IMO i think the qfo is still better cuz you can put any speakers (even bigger than the Scratchophone has) and its smaller in size, plus you can connect to other qfo's. the only thing i like about Scratchophone is the rechargeable which is very useful. But i would buy both never the less if i had money!

Qfo has no battery so you need to plug it in, plus it has no built in speakers so you gotta carry some around.

The Scratchophone has speakers and a recchargeable battery . You can choose the mixer you want built in it.... And it's heavy duty!

@5upraa thats a uneducated comment to make, a big retailer would never have the balls or insight to invent a product like this. Vestax came close with the qfo, but all they did was merge the pdx 2000 and a pmc 06, take away a few features &repackage the 2 in vestax tin &plastic .The scratchophone has huge practical implication's for scratch dj's, it ain't cheap but look at the price of all the parts, which doesn't leave a lot 4 the years of design and the two months it takes to hand make 1
