My kids have over 30 kids in there math and language classes instead of about 24 which has been proven to be the best ratio between teacher and student. My 4th grader had three classroom of 4th graders made into two just days before school started. There are too many kids in his class. Green Bay schools hired all new hire as subs. No benefits. They can get benefits after day 45. Guess what, many where forced to resign on day 44. No lie.
Yes, elections matter. I don't usually support recalls either. However, Walker has gone beyond his platform on a number of issues. For example, he repealed 32 rights for lgbt citizens of the state without ever raising the issue of repealing human rights during his election campaign. When such a matter occurs in other countries we call it demagoguery or (more accurately) a crime against humanity.
In all, more than 4,700 school employees retired in the last year -- a level many school officials attribute to Walker’s own budget’s push to force them to pay more for pensions and health care.
Racine schools, for instance, reported a net drop of 100 staff, mostly teachers aides. But by Walker’s method, Racine shows a net gain of 14. The reason for the difference: Walker doesn’t count the 114 retirements in the district.
Lady, you're deluded. What's worse, you delight in being deluded. Wisconsin is screwed when people like this woman believes that the rich really would like them if they had a chance to know them and perhaps take a short little walk in their "cheap-plastic-made-in-China" shoes." The rich do not like you. Scott Walker is an astroturfed candidate that's been enabled, both financially and strategically by the Koch bros. There's still some money left out there-and damn it- the Kochs want it all !!!
@somersetdc with all do respect, so many libs sound like you (raving lunatics that seem to be mentally ill) and you dont use facts to back anything up, you listen to a BS rumor and it becomes gold. Someone tell you something just because and you run with it, and when another tries to give you facts that dis-prove your bs you stick your fingers in your ears and say LALALALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU. you dont seem to be able to handle facts and/or logic. I guess we cant help everyone
@somersetdc It just sucks that you spread lies like a virus and because of pepople like you we have the problems that we do. Not all, Ill take some blame for the few problems we have from the people on the right, but you lefties. I sincerely wish there was help for you like a rehab clinic is for druggies
@apbtx21 As others have said, you're very angry Your remind me of the coworker everyone has who "seems a little off" and of whom they wonder when this person will explode emotionally. You equate liberalism with mental illness. I'm sure this seems rational to you, but to me-it demonstrates hatred for people who have different views and perhaps, your own mental instability that you are projecting onto others.
You can research the Koch connection to the Tea Party. It's not a secret. u r blocked.
@somersetdc PT 1. Actually Im very calm and was trying to get people to understand because at times it needs to be spelled out since we all are not on the same page. I dont have hatred toward libs, i have pitty, i feel bad for them, that they are mis-lead. The Koch's are republicans, WHOOPIE (who cares)...The unions are liberal and lie cheat and steal to get what they want- as Doyle said "Its not over til we WIN!" you cant accept defeat. thats why this recall is so botched.
@somersetdc PT 2. And who cares if unions are liberal or give millions to democratic candidates, except that it keeps raising our taxes in a bad economy already, and they are cheating for this recall...Walker did what he said. The views you speak of, they are so contradicting on the left, but that always seems to be ok for the lefties...its insanity not hatred...socialists hold hatred, lefties at madison rally hold hatred for throwing hot coffee on us for supporting walker
@somersetdc PT 3. Take the castle doctrine, liberal paper headline read "homeowners to legally kill people" what is that...some one breaks into my house, puts my family at danger, could rape them (take their soul for life) or kill them. You want them to be able to sue me for everything i have if i neutralize them and they get hurt after they illegaly entered my home. You would support it if it was your fam at risk. Thats why I say insanity, lunacy (sic) not because of hatred
To this woman, I feel sorry for you that you have had to stoop to this level. If one is NOT UPHOLDING their oath to office then he deserves not to be in that office he was elected to. Does the Constitution mean anything to you, oh yes I understand that the Constitution is not taught in schools any longer just propaganda.
@NemesisRev9 Yes, Rev9, it always is. I am glad to learn of your dietary needs, challenges and successes. Not sure how it is relevant to the present discussion, but if it makes you happy, then by all means, do go on with the details of your bowel movements. Whatever fascinates you, really. Open forum and all. Now, back to Paul-lite socioeconomics and geopolitics of denial. Bridge to the 18th century, etc., etc..
She is so wrong. It is about being popular. Scott Walker is not representing citizens if he is doing things that are unpopular. He made the easy decision as it was made for him.
Congratulations to this brave teacher. I have no idea how she is as a teacher, but she is clearly a leader, a person that stands up for her convictions and a role model.
Teachers unions have become the most corrupt organization in the US by constantly wrapping their self serving agendas as concern for students. They are not concerned for students and the evidence is the failing schools, after we increased spending for decades. It is time to recognize that although it's the unions that are truly corrupt and not the majority of teachers, it is the teachers that keep supporting a corrupt union for their own selfish benefits.
@bigtimelibertyfun Nonsense. School funding, especially teachers' salaries have been severely restricted for decades. Schools have had to cut and cut, year after year. Now Walker's cuts are even worse, but there was federal stimulus funding this year. Next year, that will be gone, and the second-year cuts will be very difficult for schools.
Walker CHOSE to balance the budget on the backs of teachers, nurses, and other public employees. He could have shared the burden fairly, but he catered to the selfish "stick it to the teachers" crowd.
As I was saying, i just do truly admire you and what you have done. Dont let what others say get you down. I we are all back to highschool again, when you just dont quite fit in, you will picked on and thrown all kinds of crap your way.. but I know youre much stronger than all of this. You have lots of support and alot of people are just too afraid to voice it. We all love and care for you dearly, best of wishes <3 Love Estephany
Dear Mrs.L, I am a former student of yours and I must say I am super surprised at how my class is reacting to it. I think that just because our parents think one way doesn't mean we can't grow a pair and actually look at the facts before we follow like lost puppy dogs. I believe that all the comments and negativity you are gettin from your students is NOT because they know what they are talking about, but simply because they have spoon fed this crap and now think they know everything.
Kristi has been a friend since high school. She is a good person with good morals. She wears her heart and feelings on her sleeve, at least you know where she stands! That's more than most of the Hippocrates out there can say! Good Job Kristi... I'm proud of you for standing up for what you believe in!
Years ago, the school boards followed the state's example with a way to save taxes. Instead of giving pay raises, they raised benefit contributions. Now Walker has forced them to renege on this arrangement, by taking making the teachers pay a second time for the same benefits.
If he had given them their pay raises back, it would have been fair. But he used that money to balance the budget, instead. That is wrong.
@pfalbrecht she should be doing this in the union not spewing all over the news & TV ads. how much did she get payed for this? or is she going to become another of Walkers secretaries? making double the pay of the same job holder last year?
She doesn't seem to understand how democracy works. Of course, to the ideologically blind it seems like sour grapes! duh. To the politically informed, Walker is a deceitful, right wing tool. Didn't she hear the phony Koch brother call? If the people of Wisconsin think that the candidate wasn't forthcoming, the laws are such that they have a recourse. It is called a RECALL. Now she's crying "harassment" . One thing's for sure, she doesn't teach history.
Watch the PEOPLE vote and thumb this Walker shill down. Maybe David Koch can organize Americans for Youtube Prosperity and bus the votes in. If Ohio vote on Prop 5 is any indication, Gov. Walker better start talking to Koch Bros @ a lobbying job or selling embargoed goods to Iran.
@KoussaMoussa You ignore the fact that the bargaining law went into effect in Wisconsin, but didn't go into effect in Ohio. Now Ohio has to lay off teachers. Does that sound like what Wisconsin needs?
@XxlivinwithitxX I think the answer lies in fair taxation. When Reagan cut taxes on the richest, unemployment shot up into double digits. It took MASSIVE borrowing to bring the #s down.Dubya did the same causing a huge money and jobs drain from US corps. Instead of reinvesting, they took cash out - it was cheap! Now we pay with no jobs, no equity and no "sexy" answer teabaggers want. The answer is TAX equality. For the rich, for the corps. & jail 4 Phil Gramm, but that's later
@XxlivinwithitxX It's not fair. Not fair at all! But not for the reasons you think. It's not fair because the Reaganomics & dubya policies have decreased the earning power of the Middle Class, & thus, as the income of the MC dropped, so did the effective revenue IRS gets from it. And it's the REPUBLICAN economic policies that are primarily responsible. So, XxlivingxX, not FAIR at all. Some would say criminal. My primary point, however, remains unaddressed by you. Your turn.
@XxlivinwithitxX and so it goes. when a Rethug runs out of arguments, he goes ad hominem, thus proving self an idiot, and nobody else. The government indeed has such power and it's through its taxation policies. When those are aimed at crippling MC, one gets Russia or Ukraine. Furthermore, despite GOP talking point, the gov. indeed DOES create jobs. Infrastructure, research, hell the machine UR typing your BS on was brought 2U by tech invented by such jobs. Good luck, ignoramus.
@XxlivinwithitxX we build infrastructure projects until the bridges like I-35 across the creek from you stop falling down. we build them until WI and the state to your right has drivable roads. we build them until we have energy efficient structures. we built the Hoover Dam;we sure as hell can maintain it. But you miss the LARGER point of *where* these goodies come from. All your high tech gizmos came from BASIC R&D paid for by TAXPAYERS. ALL OF IT. ALL. GET IT? ALL.
@XxlivinwithitxX among the idiotic statements made by you, this one stands out as the most stupid. Congratulations, Xx, that is no small accomplishment! You have proven yourself a worthy GOP voter. GOP base *needs* people like you. Carry on.
@KoussaMoussa The old French Liberal school of economic thought (the physiocrats) disproved your point of view over 200 years ago... of course, I doubt a person like you would be inclined to read anything on the subject.
@VolkOseba Au contraire, mon frère. I do nothing but scour 18th century French economic theories (in my off time from the Shakespearean sonnets, of course). Only some1 w/a mental development of a GOP voter would discern agrarian-based national valuations in what I wrote. Take it back, only some1 who pegs fiscal policy on commodity pricing would make that gold standard of mental leaps. nuke e, post WWII boom, electronic revolution I alluded 2earlier –NONE of that would happen w/o Gov.
@XxlivinwithitxX I see by your lack of response, that you are out of GOP talking points an cannot think on your own. To be fair, there is no logical defense for their economic policies, unable to produce a single "job creator" for the media. Logically and intellectually bankrupt, they are now tossing in morals too, voting for Newt. What a great bunch of [white] guys!
@KoussaMoussa I support Ron Paul. There is no point in talking to you. You either support freedom or tyranny. Taxation is tyranny, regardless of what you or the Constitution say.
@XxlivinwithitxX You ought to consider moving to a Ron Paul-like paradise of Somalia: zero taxation, zero tyranny of Government, just happy sunshine. Good luck with Mr. Paul; it'd love to see him explain how isolationism is gonna work in the 21 century. The only thing sadder than an old idiot is the young ones who follow him, b/c they are too lazy to think and opt for intellectual shortcuts.
@KoussaMoussa It's called non-interventionalism, NOT isolationism. Somalia is not a Ron Paul paradise because there is no Constitution in Somalia, not government elected by the people, and no rule of law.
@XxlivinwithitxX you just tossed your beloved Constitution out the window to avoid the tyranny of taxes, look above. Geez, you Tbaggers have ZERO memory. What Ron Paul preaches IS isolationism. He would stay out of critical places and have ZERO friends and allies globally. It's been tried. EPIC GOP FAIL
@KoussaMoussa Isolationism has a key component Ron Paul lacks: protectionism. Supporters of tariffs and embargoes are far more isolationist than Paul will ever be.
@t8rtot Please take the high road. I've been defending the Take Back Wisconsin movement against claims that we are too angry and hateful. All I can say is that there are a few bad apples on both sides.
No, I was cut for budget reasons at the end of 2010, and then in another district at the end of 2011. I would love to still be teaching, but until there is a good system that doesn't just reward based on years of service, or focus only on the core areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, and English, I have no place as a Business teacher.
I'm a former teacher and offer you my full support. I would have no problem doing a Pro Walker commercial myself. I was there last year and heard all the whining about "losing pay" - having to contribute to pension and healthcare. It gets really sickening to be a part of. Unfortunately for me, word is out on where my support lies since I told the union to stop bothering me with their propaganda, and therefore I can't get a position. Hoping Walker makes it through this. Best of Luck Kristi!
"He did! He did!" That's debatable. The Pew 2010 State of the State report compares other states to the state with the worst budget crisis, California. Illinois is bad, but not as bad as California. Things are more stable in Illinois than last year. You will see Wisconsin has an exponentially smaller problem than those states. So are Walker’s policies about the deficit or are they power grabs? IMHO, smart budget cutting ought not to leave that question being so “debatable”.
Walker is going to damage our schools too much. Next year, when the second round of budget cuts hit, and the federal stimulus funds go away, the schools are going to be in a world of hurt.
@palaciosphotography1 just because you don't have a union to push for what you want don't be jeleous, if your 401K took a hit that doesn't mean you should take away hard fought for retirement plans
@palaciosphotography1 the unions were willing to give Walker the money he asked for all they want is the right to fight for them back when this is fixed.
I love the double standard. George Soros openly gives tons of money to leftist interests, even helps a president get elected... but the Koch brothers can't support their party and candidates. You can cut the hypocrisy with a knife.
@NAGGERNUTZ When George Soros funds the opposition then it is safe to say no party is really supporting the working people. When the only people on the left that have a voice in the mass media are Ariana Huffington and Sam Sheppard, there really is no opposition. No hypocrisy here.
I think it will set a dangerous precedent if this recall goes forward, whether Walker wins or not. Recalls should be reserved 4 cases of malfeasance or gross incompetence. The entire impetus behind this recall effort is the pension reform/collective-bargaining legislation that was passed in a legal, corruption-free manner. Simply recalling a governor b/c U disagree w/ 1 particular policy IS sour grapes.
I keep hearing everyone bring up how much money the Koch bros contributed to the campaign but you should look at how much Johnson controls and a Schlitz Brewing and Allen-Bradley heiress donated to the left. You lefties need to do your research and not always believe what is force fed to you from union flyers/emails. I can tell you all are being brain wash. I see and hear the same stuff and it has no merit.
That's why our unemployment rate has climbed from 7.4% to 7.9% since may... Great plan, working fantastically. Oh well. Keepin' it civil!
If it's sour grapes then so be it. I'm pretty sour at the moment. The guy said he'd "Do what's right for Wisconsin" not start us up on the huge race to the bottom.
And he's been trying to screw up Wisconsin Energy and the University of Wisconsin's system. As a student going into college, I'd really prefer him to not be governor. And hell, I didn't even vote
@MajorJakobs 6000 new jobs since same time last year. And at your age do rally understand what is going on or do you just believe everything you are told?
@AllDaCraze At my age I should be the most politically active. It is my responsibility to be knowledgable of my state and my nation's political and economic situation.
Also you say that 6,000 jobs have been created, but that doesn't take into count how many jobs have been lost. And besides, how much would you say these jobs pay? I'm willing to assume most of these are minimum wage.
There is only so much he can do considering obama husein is still president. Obama is a job wrecking ball. This is a real bad time for the entire country. He balanced our budget in a recession, hell it is a depresion,Gov't just hides it better now- soup lines are now WIC Cards, A thousand people standing in line for a job are now using the internet, or applying at Generac (you see that line). Foreclosures take alot longer now so you dont see people on the streets like you did in the depression
@apbtx21 Sir, we've been in a recession since the 80s. Anyways, our President, Barack Hussein Obama (not 'obama husein' in case you forgot, you might not like him, but at least use the guy's real name) has considering the state of the economy that he inherited, done a lot. Especially with the Republicans opposing him on every turn, and the democrats never backing him up on anything.
People like to talk about Obama care (which hasn't taken affect yet) and the stimulus (created/saved 2.4mil jobs)
@apbtx21 The truth is, Obama isn't the cause of the problem, he just got stuck with it.
Imagine a million ton train on a steep downward track going very fast. It's very difficult to slow and stop that train, and even harder to make it go back uphill.
If you'll notice that things have slowly gotten worse /slower/. You can't expect us to lose over 20 million manufacturing jobs since Clinton's NAFTA blunder, and then have Obama suddenly fix everything with his magic wand.
@MajorJakobs So according to your logic, Walker isn't the cause of the problem, he just got stuck with it ... you can't expect Walker to fix everything with his magic wand.
The difference is Scott Walker DID fix a whole bunch of stuff and he hasn't even been in office a year. He did exactly what he promised and it's working. Unions are lying about not knowing. They sent out newsletters with details before the election and started working on recall right away, before the bill was passed.
@MajorJakobs your right its not all Obama but hes had 3 yrs, Walker did way more in less than 1 year... apologies if you are one, I use to be, Its the damn Dems...Happy Holidays Merry Christmas
@apbtx21 Hell most of the stuff Obama's proposed or passed have been complete compromises with the neo-cons in the republican party. He didn't want the failure that is Obama care, he wanted a public option, where people could choose between gov. healthcare or private healthcare. He caved on the Bush tax cuts (which economists have said helped cause the massive debt we currently have).
Please read and respond :) All three comments please.
@MajorJakobs When the republicans get in office they are doing away with Obama care with any luck...He doesnt want to drill or mine, everyone else is going to be drilling on our outskirts with less regs and less knowledge and crappy equip and we will have to clean up the mess so not to pollute our waters and so on.
@MajorJakobsThe keystone pipeline he wont approve- but yet we PIPE in TONS and Tons of jet fuel for JFK Int'l (more hazard than oil than oil) He is a job wrecking ball. As for compromise he just keeps moving the goal post, he doesnt want compromise. We say ok fine then he tacks on more crap to the negotiation. Which party walked out of the negotiations??? - THE DEMS. Which party left WI and sat in IL so they didnt have to do thier job??? - THE DEMS. Who wants to take my gun rights
@MajorJakobs THE DEMS- Who supports these protester who have hurt thier so called fellow 99%'s because people dont/ cant get to business around them, cant ship anything cuz of them at the PORT. Did they care about the truck drivers who are barely making that was ssuppose to be picking up that product, or the business who is trying to keep employees...they didnt care that it costed them thousands per truck, per rail car...The DEMS said they were like the tea party.
@MajorJakobs well my tea party doesnt do things that jeopordize the happiness and lives of those around them, how bout the $3.00/ hr servers that had to be layed off cuz people wont go to the restaraunts cuz of those grimey loud anooying terrorizing other peoples happiness..theyre pissing n moaning bout jobs and they are jeopordizing other peoples jobs, people that arent the 1%. supported by DEMS- shut up take risks put everything on the line and try and achieve and become a 1%'er
@MajorJakobs (read from bottom up for the replys) As for deficit maybe if the govt wasnt pissing our money into the wind and would actually budget and unions wouldnt rape tax payers or the employees the "care" about and make companies pay thru the nose things wouldnt be so bad - when a company can completely move to another country, pay wages their, pay to have everything shipped back here and delvd, and take on all the extra regs for int'l shipping something is wrong- union gouging
@apbtx21 i do agree on some points but here is the problem i find with your speech. these unions we are discussing are not private companies they can't move to china!!! wtf?? When did the door open for other countries to ship products to the US this cheap but the tarrif for goods going to said country is 150% or more. don't worry about the winniers and cry babies, cause when someone comes to your house and steals your valubals aand rapes your women the police will get there,
@mmeck175 Walker passed our carry conceal law and the new castle doctrine. Sad to say that your scenario would happen in a liberals house, and then it would be said that the guy didnt know any better, maybe he grew up without a daddy (because thats how most libs are). As for your tarriffs, people no longer like to work for anything, they want it given to them (so the libs do). Unions wont let you fire the dumbass thats a drain on the company, no he needs to be paid 40,50,60k/ year
@apbtx21 if its not time to vote for or against the union, that might take priority. and btw if your not from WI or living in WI shut the fuck up you ignorant jackass
@mmeck175 again very hostile. Do you see how you libs are? Im glad libs dont carry guns I love WI. Love it more now because of walker. If you dont why dont you try some shitty liberal state like IL. They keep going deeper in debt, they lay off thousands and thousands of union workers instead of finding some common ground. They raise taxes on everyone including business owners (the rich) and guess what :0 thier deficit hasnt changed. That sounds like something you would support.
@apbtx21 so you think that Walkers plan will keep all taxes at the same level and still get the state out of dept? what is going to happen in the next few years? it looks like walker is making the same mistakes he did in milwaukee. not all the things he is doing as gov. are bad but as a whole, i truely believe we can do better.
@mmeck175 the cost seemed to be alot of layoffs because the unions dooped the teachers into signing before act 10, then instead of reopening contracts and having everyone give a little they just let them go...I hated being unemployed and would rather kick in a little extra money (hopefully not to the union) to save my job and instead of pissing and moaning about it find a more suitable emplyment if it wasnt what I thought was fair.
Do any of you liberals have a brain? It sucks the teachers have to give a little bit, but at least its not the students that are getting things taken...again, like always...If its that bad maybe they should quit and get a job in the private sector...oh wait, the pay and benefits are way worse then what was just reformed by walker...disagree with me, then why didnt they get a job in the private secor...Quit sucking us dry!
@apbtx21 Where have you been? The students ARE getting things taken away. Music and art classes are going away, class sizes are increasing. Next year it will be worse, with the additional budget cuts, and the federal deficit money gone--which is what made this year's cuts not as bad.
@ge556 Then the school board did not do their job properly because the cuts should have been for the contracts. But nice try to blame the governor for the school boards fault.
@ge556 The unions decided to keep the money for themselves and hang the teachers out to dry. They will sacrifice the pay as along as they get their money. Plus the all the private employees did not get raises over the last few years. Everyone must make sacrifices in a bad economy. The teachers don't have to pay union dues anymore. So a little added bonus.
It would be nice if Unions forced to represent non-dues payers could also negotiate a lower wage scale for non-members. That would certainly fly if the right-to-work folks are serious about saving money and giving them a choice.
Damaging our schools is WRONG for Wisconsin. Schools survived this year through taking from teachers, and from the federal stimulus funds. Next year there will be more budget cuts, and the stimulus funds will be gone. Our schools are going to be in a world of hurt.
I would LOVE to know what school district "Kristi" works for? When she was hired and her connections? Since February 2011 Wisconsin history with Walker's power grab we have seen time and time again CORRUPTION, LIES, DECEIT. We are fighting back and people like you are having some "sour grapes" of your own because we will prevail, TRUTH is funny that way, it always prevails.
PS...I don't like the Koch brothers any more than you. :-) Warmongering Neocons posing as libertarians.
I do appreciate what the Koch brothers do however... that is help offset the left propaganda (Soro's), with right propaganda.
BOTH DECEIVE!!!!
Glenn Beck likes to deceive through partial and half truths but the left utilizes this tactic to. Do NOT believe MASS MEDIA. It's called propaganda for a reason.
Wonder how much she was paid to say that. Then again, she might be an actual right-winger supporting policies that are not in her best interests or in the interest of our country.
Kristi, I don't do this kind of stuff but I had to post and show support for you. Read the book Rules for Radicals. They just want to wear you down. We don't have to make fools of ourselves. We don't have to trash our Capital. WE don't have to waste taxpayer money. All we have to do is silently make our vote when the time comes. Lots of people are supporting you.
Haha too bad teachers are spending all their time on YouTube bashing Kristi and the facts instead of... idk... TEACHING. Poor me, poor me. You know what? Waiting for Superman.
that's ok, a lot of people say things without knowing what they're talking about. it's just too bad this lady's face is in the video while she's saying it.
Kristi sticks a knife in the backs of other teachers and the children she is put in charge of educating by spewing propaganda for the man who is destroying her craft. $1.6 Billion dollars have been cut from educational spending in Wisconsin, leading to massive layoffs, along with cuts in curriculum and programs, and she has the audacity to get on television and say that Walker is doing good. Shame indeed.
@llachow Thats ok. You union thugs have already started with the hate mail and threats. So very tolerant of other views you are. Just keep pushing your lies and hate. The US knows better than ever before that unions are the biggest problem for MPS schools. And it seems that MPS and Thornton have just realized it as well. Your reign is done in this state. You lose!
@llachow You and your ilk are 'destroying the craft'. When you support rules that insure its practitioners are not the best they can be, which support the weakest among them. That is truly a disservice to the children, the parents and the taxpayers. The shame is yours.
NO. FRIGGIN. WAY. $1.6 billion in cuts will only hurt out schools. We'll really see it next year. If you've got school aged children and you want their high school diploma to mean anything at all, you'll vote to RECALL WALKER.
"The man or the woman that says what they mean and means what they say" ...she thinks that's Scott Walker? Lol she's got to be an actor she can't seriously believe that.
Several schools in my area closed, and teachers lost jobs due to the budget cuts. They also wanted to raise property taxes to help fund the schools that are still open. If the property taxes aren't increased, they may have to lay off more teachers. The burden was moved from the state level to the local level but we still pay the price. Walker plan has done nothing for education, but he has increased the unemployment percentage.
She's a Charter School teacher. All she has said is moot. She's pandering to her own interests. Not The State of Wisconsin.

I guess we cant help everyone
apbtx21 1 month ago
@somersetdc It just sucks that you spread lies like a virus and because of pepople like you we have the problems that we do. Not all, Ill take some blame for the few problems we have from the people on the right, but you lefties. I sincerely wish there was help for you like a rehab clinic is for druggies
apbtx21 1 month ago 2
@apbtx21 As others have said, you're very angry Your remind me of the coworker everyone has who "seems a little off" and of whom they wonder when this person will explode emotionally. You equate liberalism with mental illness. I'm sure this seems rational to you, but to me-it demonstrates hatred for people who have different views and perhaps, your own mental instability that you are projecting onto others.
You can research the Koch connection to the Tea Party. It's not a secret. u r blocked.
somersetdc 1 month ago
@somersetdc PT 1. Actually Im very calm and was trying to get people to understand because at times it needs to be spelled out since we all are not on the same page. I dont have hatred toward libs, i have pitty, i feel bad for them, that they are mis-lead. The Koch's are republicans, WHOOPIE (who cares)...The unions are liberal and lie cheat and steal to get what they want- as Doyle said "Its not over til we WIN!" you cant accept defeat. thats why this recall is so botched.
apbtx21 1 month ago
@somersetdc PT 2. And who cares if unions are liberal or give millions to democratic candidates, except that it keeps raising our taxes in a bad economy already, and they are cheating for this recall...Walker did what he said. The views you speak of, they are so contradicting on the left, but that always seems to be ok for the lefties...its insanity not hatred...socialists hold hatred, lefties at madison rally hold hatred for throwing hot coffee on us for supporting walker
apbtx21 1 month ago
@somersetdc PT 3. Take the castle doctrine, liberal paper headline read "homeowners to legally kill people" what is that...some one breaks into my house, puts my family at danger, could rape them (take their soul for life) or kill them. You want them to be able to sue me for everything i have if i neutralize them and they get hurt after they illegaly entered my home. You would support it if it was your fam at risk. Thats why I say insanity, lunacy (sic) not because of hatred

Teachers unions have become the most corrupt organization in the US by constantly wrapping their self serving agendas as concern for students. They are not concerned for students and the evidence is the failing schools, after we increased spending for decades. It is time to recognize that although it's the unions that are truly corrupt and not the majority of teachers, it is the teachers that keep supporting a corrupt union for their own selfish benefits.
bigtimelibertyfun 2 months ago
@bigtimelibertyfun Nonsense. School funding, especially teachers' salaries have been severely restricted for decades. Schools have had to cut and cut, year after year. Now Walker's cuts are even worse, but there was federal stimulus funding this year. Next year, that will be gone, and the second-year cuts will be very difficult for schools.

I believe that all the comments and negativity you are gettin from your students is NOT because they know what they are talking about, but simply because they have spoon fed this crap and now think they know everything.

XxlivinwithitxX 2 months ago
KoussaMoussa 2 months ago
@KoussaMoussa How is it fair when 1% pays 40% of taxes?
XxlivinwithitxX 2 months ago
@XxlivinwithitxX It's not fair. Not fair at all! But not for the reasons you think. It's not fair because the Reaganomics & dubya policies have decreased the earning power of the Middle Class, & thus, as the income of the MC dropped, so did the effective revenue IRS gets from it. And it's the REPUBLICAN economic policies that are primarily responsible. So, XxlivingxX, not FAIR at all. Some would say criminal. My primary point, however, remains unaddressed by you. Your turn.

XxlivinwithitxX 2 months ago
@XxlivinwithitxX and so it goes. when a Rethug runs out of arguments, he goes ad hominem, thus proving self an idiot, and nobody else. The government indeed has such power and it's through its taxation policies. When those are aimed at crippling MC, one gets Russia or Ukraine. @VolkOseba Au contraire, mon frère. I do nothing but scour 18th century French economic theories (in my off time from the Shakespearean sonnets, of course). The only thing sadder than an old idiot is the young ones who follow him, b/c they are too lazy to think and opt for intellectual shortcuts.
KoussaMoussa 2 months ago
@KoussaMoussa It's called non-interventionalism, NOT isolationism. Somalia is not a Ron Paul paradise because there is no Constitution in Somalia, not government elected by the people, and no rule of law.

Simply recalling a governor b/c U disagree w/ 1 particular policy IS sour grapes.
rightwinggeniusII 2 months ago 2
I keep hearing everyone bring up how much money the Koch bros contributed to the campaign but you should look at how much Johnson controls and a Schlitz Brewing and Allen-Bradley heiress donated to the left. Foreclosures take alot longer now so you dont see people on the streets like you did in the depression
apbtx21 2 months ago
@apbtx21 Sir, we've been in a recession since the 80s. Anyways, our President, Barack Hussein Obama (not 'obama husein' in case you forgot, you might not like him, but at least use the guy's real name) has considering the state of the economy that he inherited, done a lot. Especially with the Republicans opposing him on every turn, and the democrats never backing him up on anything.
People like to talk about Obama care (which hasn't taken affect yet) and the stimulus (created/saved 2.4mil jobs)
MajorJakobs 2 months ago
@apbtx21 The truth is, Obama isn't the cause of the problem, he just got stuck with it.
Imagine a million ton train on a steep downward track going very fast. It's very difficult to slow and stop that train, and even harder to make it go back uphill.
If you'll notice that things have slowly gotten worse /slower/. You can't expect us to lose over 20 million manufacturing jobs since Clinton's NAFTA blunder, and then have Obama suddenly fix everything with his magic wand.
MajorJakobs 2 months ago
@MajorJakobs So according to your logic, Walker isn't the cause of the problem, he just got stuck with it ... you can't expect Walker to fix everything with his magic wand.
The difference is Scott Walker DID fix a whole bunch of stuff and he hasn't even been in office a year. He did exactly what he promised and it's working. Unions are lying about not knowing. They sent out newsletters with details before the election and started working on recall right away, before the bill was passed.

As for your tarriffs, people no longer like to work for anything, they want it given to them (so the libs do). Unions wont let you fire the dumbass thats a drain on the company, no he needs to be paid 40,50,60k/ year

apbtx21 1 month ago
@apbtx21 so you think that Walkers plan will keep all taxes at the same level and still get the state out of dept? what is going to happen in the next few years? it looks like walker is making the same mistakes he did in milwaukee. not all the things he is doing as gov. are bad but as a whole, i truely believe we can do better.

mmeck175 2 months ago
@mmeck175 the cost seemed to be alot of layoffs because the unions dooped the teachers into signing before act 10, then instead of reopening contracts and having everyone give a little they just let them go...I hated being unemployed and would rather kick in a little extra money (hopefully not to the union) to save my job and instead of pissing and moaning about it find a more suitable emplyment if it wasnt what I thought was fair.
apbtx21 1 month ago
Do any of you liberals have a brain? It sucks the teachers have to give a little bit, but at least its not the students that are getting things taken...again, like always...If its that bad maybe they should quit and get a job in the private sector...oh wait, the pay and benefits are way worse then what was just reformed by walker...disagree with me, then why didnt they get a job in the private secor...Quit sucking us dry!
apbtx21 2 months ago
@apbtx21 Where have you been? The students ARE getting things taken away. Music and art classes are going away, class sizes are increasing. Next year it will be worse, with the additional budget cuts, and the federal deficit money gone--which is what made this year's cuts not as bad.

@ge556 Then the school board did not do their job properly because the cuts should have been for the contracts. But nice try to blame the governor for the school boards fault.

@AllDaCraze Underpaying teachers is not good for our schools, either. I don't want our schools to be in a race for the bottom.
ge556 2 months ago
@ge556 The unions decided to keep the money for themselves and hang the teachers out to dry. They will sacrifice the pay as along as they get their money. Plus the all the private employees did not get raises over the last few years. Everyone must make sacrifices in a bad economy. The teachers don't have to pay union dues anymore. So a little added bonus.
AllDaCraze 2 months ago
It would be nice if Unions forced to represent non-dues payers could also negotiate a lower wage scale for non-members. That would certainly fly if the right-to-work folks are serious about saving money and giving them a choice.

@onlybuilt4rttp LOL I agree let them suffer the same way

Not really sure why you would congratulate her and Walker for guting

If private unions organize against corporate greed, who exactly do public uninos ogranize against? Voters and taxpayers!

Shame indeed.
llachow 3 months ago 5
@llachow Thats ok. You union thugs have already started with the hate mail and threats. So very tolerant of other views you are. Just keep pushing your lies and hate. The US knows better than ever before that unions are the biggest problem for MPS schools. And it seems that MPS and Thornton have just realized it as well. Your reign is done in this state. You lose!
Spectreman 2 months ago
@llachow You and your ilk are 'destroying the craft'. When you support rules that insure its practitioners are not the best they can be, which support the weakest among them. That is truly a disservice to the children, the parents and the taxpayers. The shame is yours.
chevick 2 months ago
NO. FRIGGIN. WAY. $1.6 billion in cuts will only hurt out schools. We'll really see it next year. If you've got school aged children and you want their high school diploma to mean anything at all, you'll vote to RECALL WALKER.
