Funny how that man just jumps into the song then the audience gets into it too. Those men (Johnny and Doc) were like schoolboys over that lady's low cut jacket/top thingy she had on.
Hi Pat.: Thanks for your lovely posting. Just so you know, Ed and I are still together and it is 38 years since we met. He is still as adorable today. We've had a lot of great experiences since stumping the band including moving to L. A. for 8 years where we actually worked at NBC-TV and got to hang out in the green room for the Tonight Show with lots of great stars. We're back in NYC for quite a while now and loving it. Best Wishes, Linda
To add to 'SkepticalEd's' points: Carson moved his show permanently to Burbank in May of 1972 - but in the first twelve months there, he and his show made two different return visits of three weeks each to New York City. Before this final set of shows, "The Tonight Show" also did three weeks in NYC in November 1972. The reverse of occasional visits per year to Burbank when the show was in NYC.
After this, Studio 6B was gutted and rebuilt for WNBC-TV's "NewsCenter4" which debuted April 29, 1974.
Just love this video of my dear friends Edward and Linda!!!! Sexy elegant lady!!! No wonder they stumped the band. I just loved the way the audience joined in!! You guys know I love you!!! Your Friend, Lynda
It's hard to believe that an audience can produce such an entertaining bit. Carson was set up so beautifully, the thing was hilarious, including the lead girl singer and her male 'chorus', who never missed a beat. Well done!!!
It's hard to believe that an audience can produce such a hilarious bit that sets Johnny Carson up so beautifully. It couldn't have been written any better. Kudos to the 'lead' girl singer and admiration for her male 'chorus' who never missed a beat. Huzzah!!
What a great video! A voluptous, beautiful young woman not only stumps the band, but she brings out the animal in Johnny and Doc. I'm gonna be seeing this video over and over and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Didn't they permanently move the Tonight Show to Burbank by 1973?

The last NYC show took place on May 23, 1973 and we were the last NYC people to Stump The Band. A great loss.
