But funny, how much people think that this show is legitimate and take this stuff sersly.
I mean, this is such pointless crap. Even if it happens tommorow...this show istn relevant. Why would anyone watch such an hypocrite documentary instead of a movie?
You know this is a preparation film. Prepping people to react with fear and violence. People have got to know they can choose to be noble. In the end we are all going to die sooner or later anyway. I would rather die as a decent human being then live as a scumbag animal.
The devil is losing and at the end will be judged for all the crimes. Americans bought 10.8 million guns last year. More guns were purchased last year in the United States than than there are active duty military members in the world’s fourteen largest armies combined: Russian Federation 1,027,000 North Korea 1,106,000 South Korea 687,000 Vietnam 455,000 India 1,325,000 China 2,285,000 Iran 523,000 United States 1,468,364 Republic of China 290,000 Brazil 327,710 Pakistan 617,000 Egypt 468,500 Cuba 49,000 Ukraine 129,925 Above Total = 10,758,499
@dgl1962 Don't worry, it will unfold. It's only a matter of time... I'm thinking it will be more along the lines of a currency collapse or an energy collapse (oil runs dry) rather than a pandemic... But either way, it will happen.
@BrettDixonMusic Same here, guns are the only tools we have to defend our lives from tyranny, genocide, violent crimes and even the MadMax scenario depicted in this vid.
I'm keeping mine no matter what laws the shitheads in Washington or the UN conjure up.
I had a friend's dad who was a civil defence coordinator in the 60s-70s. He told me "when they tell you to go to the High school or the local sports stadium...don't go. That's the last thing you want to do". First 72 hours people wil help each other and believe the Gov will handle it and everything will be fine. The beginning of the next 72 hours, criminals will realize THEY are the power. Might makes right and people will band into rival gnags. next 72 hours ? True anarchy.
i think the 2000s Ford Crown Victoria or 90s Toyota land cruiser, can take me survive in the doomsday and more useful..than the people who post idiot and TROLL comment (about politics, religious, social problem) on this documentary.
You want some clues about how close we are to an civilization collapse, look around at what the world is doing now to obtain energy.Off-shore drilling, drilling under ice, drilling under thousands of feet of water...THAT oil is 10-15x more expensive to extract than the oil that has been pumped by the Saudis and others for the past 80 years or so.
What's going to happen to our daily lives when the cost of obtaining new energy is ten times what we've been used to? That is already happening now.
Your WHOLE DAILY LIFE is dependent on cheap energy to make it all run. And cheap energy is OVER. Peak oil is NOT about running out of oil! It's about passing the point where the CHEAP, EASY to access oil is used up! We have PASSED that point already.
There will ALWAYS be oil in the ground, we'll never extract it all. That's not the point. The point is that we're running out the mass quantities of easy oil that makes daily life run, and run cheaply. Here on out energy costs will go UP.
Anarchy and breakdown in most communities in the industrialized world is protected by about a FOUR DAY cushion. In other words, in the event of increasing energy costs which would lead to shortages and unaffordability of essentials, there is about a four day food supply in most stores for the surrounding population.
How long could you survive if you could no longer count on your store having its shelves full?
How long could you remain civilized if you couldn't get gasoline or food?
The world can't afford energy costs as they are now! Growth is grinding to a halt, and pretty soon you'll see economic contraction. Since the future success of our economic paradigm depends on PERPERTUAL GROWTH, even a temporary setback or halt to growth is disastrous for the world economy. And growth IS coming to a halt. The world is struggling to afford energy NOW, it's becoming too expensive to extract, refine, and produce.
As we try to continue the practice of infinite growth, poverty increases and wealth concentrates in the hands of fewer people. The amount of people who can afford the basic necessities to live are shrinking, while the costs of energy and life essentials goes up.
Infinite growth is dead. It is running head-long into FINITE resources, and more expensive energy. We're well on our way to a disastrous contraction. Not only is growth dead, we can't even maintain the status quo. it's happening.
The world is already struggling horribly to afford $100 a barrel oil. Much of the world, right NOW,CAN'T afford fuel or food. I'm not talking about third world countries. I'm talking about ENGLAND, and the U.S.! People are already stretched so thin, they literally have to choose between heat or food, medication or lights. It's happening in the so-called powerful industrialized countries. It's happening all around us. And it's going to get ALOT worse, before it gets better, if it EVER gets better.
@mm7777777 OMG you nailed it! You said it better in two sentences than I did in all my long postings.
This is what I've been trying to get across to people. Look at how human beings act NOW. On the roads, in the stores, in line at banks...human beings are already a short-tempered, hasty, angry, agressive species...and this is how we're acting when we're getting EVERYTHING WE WANT when we want it! Imagine the reaction if there's any shortages, or more increases in energy costs!
@mm7777777 Everybody needs to read your comment, I swear they do!
If people are already stressed and impatient, pushing and shoving, driving eachother off the roads, living for themselves and noone else - if that behavior is happening NOW, while things are still "relatively holding together"....what the hell is going to happen if gasoline goes to $5.00 a gallon, and if people simply can't afford heat or fuel, and have to decide between gasoline or food? Hell, that's happening now!
@mm7777777 I try to tell people, look around you NOW. Look at how we behave at this moment in time. ANY type of shortage or inconvenience to our way of life, and you'll see previously "civilized and rational" people completely cave in. You already see it.
Jesus, I see fights break out now in stores because someone can't use a coupon for an item on sale, or something is sold out, they go nuts. If THAT sets them off, what the hell are those people going to do when a real emergency happens?

In any SHTF event, the thing to watch is the electrical grid. Electricity feeds communications, water, sewer, and fuel production. If the grid goes down nationwide for more than 5-7 days then you know it's Mad Max time.
I suspect a lot of people would actually get together and form law and order. Things would be quite bad but perhaps not so bad as this makes it seem. I know how shitty some folks can be but even depressed old me doesn't think that humanity is that bad. You'd see people pulling together and helping each other as best they could. It would only be a certain percentage that would rape and kill. Most of the theft would be from food stores and who can blame folks for that? Rob Wal-Mart blind.
@heartfire451 One thing that really cheered me up during the English riots back there was mature, responsible youngish ( lol) people my age 30s and 40s banding together to curb those greedy, destructive brats.
It's going to collapse not because of Indistrialization but Collectivism. i.e. Marxism, Socialism, Communism... The idea that you are entitled to the fruits of other people's labour and the world owes you something. The misguided ideology of "from those according to ability, to those according to need."
It was industrialization that saved the world and brought us out of the dark ages. It was liberty and a republican form of government (not the evils of Democracy) that gave us liberty in whic
I'll leave this quote as my final thought about this. This quote is for everyone who dismisses things that are too unthinkable or too scary to contemplate. For those who put full trust in their government and media and believe they tell the truth. For those who believe the official story of every event put before them. For those who believe humanity is immune from collapse.
The quote is this:
"The truth is the truth even if NOONE believes it. A lie is a lie even if EVERYONE believes it."
Yeah, I'm picking on the USA because I don't think people get just how much energy we use and abuse for our own convenience and consumption. All the things we think make America "great" are actually what is pulling us down. The amount of energy needed to produce fast food, from the farming, transportation, heat, processing, is STAGGERING. Our energy consumption comes from our culture wanting everything at its fingertips whenever and wherever. Problem is it's not sustainable. It will collapse.
@campaigner111 Does your views on an unsustainable system apply to things like Public education, national health care, welfare, and other such GOV programs. Which for the most part set the standard in in waste???
The average wage in China is about $4,000 a year. Would you support the lowering of the minimum wage as a means to limit energy use?
@CSATexan No. The problem is that we have to change the whole paradigm. And we're at a point where it's going to be changed FOR US whether we like it or not. The world's economy depends on infinite growth. I.E. consuming more next year than this year. Food is a prime example of how its produced and consumed as a commodity. The US throws away 42,000 tons of eatable food a year, restaurants, etc. It makes NO sense to be feeding the poor with charity and then throwing away as much as we do!
The USA only has about 300 million people, yet we're #1 in energy abuse and consumption. We consume more energy than CHINA and they have four times our popluation!!! We're a wasteland, consumption juggernaut. Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, and Walmarts every half mile is the reason why. Priveledge and convenience come at a cost. The great American traditions are also enormous energy consumers. We're the worst ones of ALL. It takes energy and lots of it to have a Starbucks every fity feet!
@CSATexan Oh, c'mon man, work with me here! I'm not condemning Mcd's for feeding the poor! I'm condemning an infinite growth paradigm based on every-increasing consumption! The problem with Mcdonals's is not what its ethics are toward the poor, but that is EXISTS at all! At the same time McD's feeds the poor, it throws away tons of food after the half-hour alarm expires. Then it sprays those tons of food with chemicals so that noone can go in the dumpster and eat it. It makes no sense!
Personally I don't eat McDonalds burgers (not only don't I like it but it makes me sick) but their breakfast is great!!!
However the reason the US consumes so much energy is because people can afford it. Lowering the aluminum wage will put an end to it.
And if the US was interested in "food" how about cities stop planting worthless plants and instead decorate the city with edible plants? Just think about that as you drive around.
@CSATexan You're right! And that's the whole point! We overconsume because we CAN. That's the great fault of the human species. Consumption and priveledge. We want our food grown somewhere else. We want everything made somewhere else so we can buy it cheap. We want the work down by someone else so we can consume it cheaply. But that's not sustainable. The signs of civil unrest are already all around us. But people seem not to care.
@CSATexan You bring up a great point. The US consumes because it can, for the sake of consuming it. We have a money based world in which those who have the money can consume as much as they want. But our self-proclaimed rights to as much as we want is not sustainable. Only one reason the US consumes more energy than anyone else on earth. Because we think we're entitled to it, it's a "freedom". Until that thinking changes, we're in big trouble. We're already in big trouble.
If I pay for it then I am entitled to what I pay for. That is after all the reason I work.
A good example I collect books, I have more books than everyone on my block put together. (about 2300) Does that mean that I am not entitled to them? That does that mean that I have cheated someone out of them? Does that mean that my neighbors are somewhat oppressed for lack of a home library?
Or does it mean that I pursued something I worked for?
@CSATexan No, I condemn the whole paradigm. We have a species who goes out to a buffet and eats 5,000 calories in one meal, at a huge expense of energy, and gets fat, while other people have no food. The whole system is out of balance. Only a small percentage of the world's population enjoys the luxury of eating waaay more than it needs. Meanwhile there's shortages elsewhere. Consuming for the sake of consumption. That paradigm must die. It will die whether we want it to or not.
As I said, NO population in nature, be it bacteria, deer, fish, etc, has EVER had a set of favorbable circumstances that allowed for a population spike, without having a peak and crash in that population. Oil was our favorable circumstance, we've spiked beyond control.
It's a LAW of nature, as fundamental as the law of gravity or laws of energy.
The human race is NOT above this law or any laws. We WILL contract and there will be a collapse and die-off. Simple.
@DrKillaser Again, you are missing the point. Doesn't matter if we are "higher" beings, or if we have a conscious. We ARE NOT unique with regard to the fact that we are still at the mercy of the laws of energy and physics. We still die without heat, food, and water. Human beings are no safer from collapse than any other species. No amount of consciousness or intelligence makes us immune from the vulnerabilities that have wiped out other species. Especially our dependence on technology.
@campaigner111 i meant that, we can rise the carrying capacity of the planet.. sure with a system we live in, it is even worse than animals....animals wont kill each other only because they don't have something that doesn't stand for anything... but we do..... plus, yes, i know that the resources on the earth are limited, so we can rise the carrying capacity to a limited level until now....
@campaigner111 by saying animals i mean those who don't have the conscious....
and i know about our instincts...(you reminded me of my article when i was in grade 10... where this was one of the evidences with which i supported evolution... :)
@DrKillaser I understand, I didn't mean to jump on your comments earlier. It's good to know you are aware of this also and have given sincere thought to it. We're saying much the same thing it looks like!
@DrKillaser We ARE part of the "rest of nature". Again, you are clinging to the belief that humans are somehow special and higher, because we have a conscious.
Conscience doesn't fill our stomachs, it doesn't heat our homes, it doesn't create energy.
No matter how "developed" or "high" a being we like to think ourselves to be, we are still animals susceptible to a structural breakdown.
And we live on a finite planet, acting as if it's INFINITE. Not very bright for an "advanced" species.
@DrKill Look at the behaviors that humans resort to when starving...cannibalsim, brutality, murder. Look at the behaviors humans resort to when they run out of resources...murder, suicide, robbery, theft.
Most parts of the United States have less than a four day food supply at the average store available to the surrounding population. Any breakdown in that supply chain, and you'd have humans resorting to base animal behavior within DAYS.
A being with a conscience starves to death the same way as a lower form of animal does. A being with a conscience freezes to death the same way as a lower form of animal does. A being with a conscience still resorts to animal behavior when their survival is at stake. A being with a conscience has no immunity from the vulnerabilities that kill off lower forms of animals.
I take no comfort from your assertion that we are "seperate" from the rest of nature. We are another animal nothing more.
Until 125 years ago, the world had 1 billion in it.SINCE the advent of oil, about 1900, the world has gone from ONE billion to SEVEN billion people! All made possible with oil. That is not natural population growth. It's a spike made possible because of oil, that's it! The world CAN'T support any more growth.
It's going to peak, then contract. NO population, be it bacteria in a dish, or a herd of deer, have EVER had a population spike like ours without suffering a contraction and die-off.
We are trapped in an oil paradigm. Oil is used in everything that makes the industrialized world run. It's not about gasoline only, oil is in plastics, food, farming, transportation, cattle, crops, vehicles. 1,000 gallons of oil in EVERY car built. 7 galllons of oil in EVERY tire.
When people say new technologies will save us, they don't understand that it STILL requires oil to build electric cars, nuclear plants, clean coal plants, etc.You can't just "switch" to a new energy like that.
Economic and energy collapse are more likely every day, because less and less people are able to afford energy and all the things we buy made possible by energy.
Take one look at the costs of groceries and a hundred other products made from oil, all plastics, food, clothing, tires, you name it. Oil runs it all. We EAT oil. Every calorie of food consumed takes ten times that amount in energy to bring that food to your mouth.
The reason this show should scare the hell out of everyone is not because it's some wild far fetched plot or theory.
It's because the world right now is already having huge difficulty affording the energy needed to keep eveything going as is, never mind future GROWTH.The world is living by INFINITE GROWTH principles based on cheap, plentiful energy.Energy is no longer cheap, and it is becoming more expensive to extract.Growth will be impossible, and maintaining what we have near impossible.
Good news is that the world will never run out of oil. We wont get that far. Peak oil is NOT about running out of oil. It's about the point at which oil costs more to extract and produce than is profitable. We're almost at that point now.
It's really simple. How much energy do you have to invest vs. how much energy do you get in return? Oil companies have to USE energy to GET energy, and the moment it costs more to get a barrel of oil from the ground than you can sell it for, it's over.
The signs are all around us that oil is peaking, and that energy is becoming more difficult to obtain and more expensive to consume. You are seeing it in the cost of everything from plastics, food, to fuel, and services. There are no elite conspiracies or greed to explain why energy costs are soaring. Companies large and small are paying more for energy and so have to charge more for what they produce. There is no way around this.
When I saw Van Jones's dumbass on this show, I couldn't help but laugh and then I turned the channel. Why waste a time slot to air this shit, they could of played Ancient Aliens. Something that makes sense instead of selling lies to the American public. The last time somebody tried uncovering the global warming scam (Jesse Ventura) he got booted off TV.
I live in CT,during the recent surprise snowstorm we had in late October, our utility company here was caught off guard.Because of cutbacks in their budgets, and inability to have enough people out working to restore power, tens of thousands of CT residents were without power for WEEKS.People were outraged, they couldn't understand how this could happen in America, with all our technology.
THAT'S the point. This was one little glitch with electricity in CT.What if it was something REALLY serious?
The trouble is, when our own personal lives are going well, and we have technology at our fingertips, we can go to the movies, drive our car...we FEEL like we're safe from any kind of collapse. It's a classic case of false sense of security.
We become delusional in the face of being surrounded by modern conveniences, being able to drive barely a few miles to a store full of food, etc.
That whole system we depend on every day is EXTREMELY vulnerable to collapse. We just don't see it.
The more complex and the more the modern industrialized world becomes dependent on technology to grow our food, fuel our cars and heat our homes, run our computers, run our cell phones, medicate us, etc. etc....... by definition that same civilization is made all the more vulverable to collapse.
Complex systems are made more susceptible to failure each time a new technology is introduced. One would think it would be the other way around. But it is not.
As a matter of fact, there is a great irony in the belief that alot of Americans have, which is that technology and modern living make us immune from collapse, that Rome was more vulnerable because it didn't have the techology we do.
This is WRONG. It is exactly the OPPOSITE! The MORE technology and the more complex a society or empire becomes, the MORE fragile it is, the more vulnerable it is.Simply because the more complex a civilization is, the more things that can break down.
Collapses of Empires and nations are NOT conspiracy theory! At one time Rome thought that its own collapse was impossible. The French Empire thought it would never collapse. The Mayan Empire thought it would never collapse.
They all collapsed. This is FACT. Civilations fail. Empires contract and fall. Upheaval HAPPENS!
What is this mentality in America that somehow we're immune from all of this? What makes us so special or unique? That's the point. We are NOT immune. It can happen to us.
@campaigner111 There are reasons for the failures of these nations and Empires. It doesn't happen out of thin air. The Founders made pretty clear of that. The only way we can survive as a nation is everybody contribute into preserving this nation, stay informed stay educated. The evil elite makes a nation crumble and they rely on the stupidity of men. As Ben Franklin said "We gave you a Republic, now keep it" We are special and unique only if we follow that rule and moral guideline.
@Jacoby515 Yes, but that's the problem. It doesn't happen out of thin air. There are specific conditions that nations are susceptable to, no matter what the plans of the elites are and what they try to do.
Energy and currency crises are what have proceeded every collapse of every Empire. That and outstripping of resources. You want to hear something scary about Rome? Their collapse was proceeded by currency devaluation and soil degradation.
@Jacoby515 I agree that the elites have their own plans for survival. But that's kind of the point. The elites know how vulnerable the world is with regard to energy, overpopulation, and finite resources. THEY are preparing for their own well being, and they know the danger the rest of the world is in.
No amount of morals, education, or innovation is going to protect us from the laws of finite resources. The signs are all around us that the energy crisis is here, but people don't notice.
exactly , if you have played fallout 3 you will know how to survive in the wilderness, deciding to be a raider is not a good option unless you decide to be evil before trying to survive in good ways , raiders also live in poorly conditions and tend to eat eachother in the end. I recomend you move around alot, finding new hiding spots and not stay on the same place too long cause raiders may find you and crave your hiding spot and your life.
@mercanaries3 with a sidecar, or a quad or trike, even a mountain bike is good; fast versatile mobility. get a light rifle, machete, medical aid and prescription drugs (theyre worth money and are necessary, like bottle caps) and a practical survival guide. also take a vacuum tube radio with you, in case of electromagnetical interference (EMP or something), because todays siliconchip technology will burn through.
ROFL....the best thing to do is to buy a motorcycle and avoid the free ways during disasters like this...because the retards are going to block the roads and jam freeways
@Maloney001 Exactly...it's made all the more disturbing that people in the modern world think that human beings are sophisticated and that technology will save us from the laws of the universe. People are ALREADY struggling to survive, even in the more powerful nations like the US. Energy costs are slowly strangling millions. Food costs are strangling millions. We are NOT AS FAR from collapse as we would like to think.
Much of the rest of the world is already starving and on the fringe.
@Maloney001 There is pratically noone in the US or industrialized world who is prepared for any kind of serious economic or energy collapse. Noone. People think new energies and new technologies will save us from ourselves. Wrong. We are a species living as if resources are limitless, even while they are shrinking. Nobody seems to pay attention. But the signs of our system being strained to breaking point are all around us. Nobody seems to care.
@duckotaco Thanks for your comments, it's good to know there's other out there who are aware of this and actually recognize how serious this is and how vulnerable we are!
@campaigner111 apart from the fact that the general IQ collapsed in the last ten years. So much for the amount of new ways to gain knowledge. Most people did NOT take advantage of the great new possibilities. This civilization is a WASTE.
@duckotaco Well said, indeed! We're a species convinved that we can grow and multiply infinitely while consuming endlessly. Anyone doing the math can see it's an equation that doesn't add up! Peak, contraction, and crash are a certainty.
@CSATexan Uhhhh, ok. Look man, the WHOLE human species is to blame for this! Jesus, don't go singling out one muslim family. Yeah, maybe China and India and other places have abused it, but the WHOLE species has abused it.
And while you're trying to pin over-population and energy issues on muslims, here's a thought for you that should get people thinking:
The United States only has 5% of the world's population, yet we use 25% of the worlds's energy!!!! What does that tell you?
It tells me that you are more than willing to look the other way at other peoples reckless behavior. Even if it results in an unsustainable population
@CSATexan Oh, quite the opposite! I'm just a messenger, that's all I am. I SEE what's happening and what the world is headed for, but most people can't believe or refuse to believe it. I've heard Americans actually say that "we're blessed by God, so we'll be saved". It's insanity. All I'm doing is observing what's happening, and Iive my live personally in a way that I can sustain myself and have a chance to survive. What else can we do? It's too late to fix it, we're past it.
@CSATexan No, I don't look the other way at all. But I also correctly assert that the earth is in a consumption paradigm that it can longer reverse. It's too late. The time to have changed the way energy is consumed was 30 years ago. Now it's WAY too late. Technology and alternative energies won't help. Too little, too late. All we can do ourselves is live and consume as little as possible and not abuse it. Live in a sustainable way so we can survive this somehow. Detatch from the paradigm.
The global ILLUMINATI Elite of banking (Rockefellers/Rothschilds) families have this all planned out, for their NEW World ORDER establishment. They operate with Problem-REACTION-Solution technique, and shall make You want to be enslaved (within FEMA camps, etc). They're about massive Population Reduction/DEPOPULATION, to control what is Left. PREPARE & RESIST.

That is already happening now.
campaigner111 1 month ago
Your WHOLE DAILY LIFE is dependent on cheap energy to make it all run. And cheap energy is OVER. Peak oil is NOT about running out of oil! It's about passing the point where the CHEAP, EASY to access oil is used up! We have PASSED that point already.
There will ALWAYS be oil in the ground, we'll never extract it all. That's not the point. The point is that we're running out the mass quantities of easy oil that makes daily life run, and run cheaply. Here on out energy costs will go UP.
campaigner111 1 month ago
Anarchy and breakdown in most communities in the industrialized world is protected by about a FOUR DAY cushion. In other words, in the event of increasing energy costs which would lead to shortages and unaffordability of essentials, there is about a four day food supply in most stores for the surrounding population.
How long could you survive if you could no longer count on your store having its shelves full?
How long could you remain civilized if you couldn't get gasoline or food?
campaigner111 1 month ago
If anyone thinks this isn't a real possibility, ask yourself some simple questions.
How much are you struggling to afford gasoline, home heating fuel, and food right now?
How close are you to edge every month of not being able to make ends meet?
If gasoline or food prices go up any more, are you able to afford to the increase?
How much do you have in reserve, if you weren't able to continue buying these things?
Now multiply your situation by 300 million people. Scared yet?
campaigner111 1 month ago
The world can't afford energy costs as they are now! Growth is grinding to a halt, and pretty soon you'll see economic contraction. Since the future success of our economic paradigm depends on PERPERTUAL GROWTH, even a temporary setback or halt to growth is disastrous for the world economy. And growth IS coming to a halt. The world is struggling to afford energy NOW, it's becoming too expensive to extract, refine, and produce.
The age of cheap oil and cheap energy is OVER.
campaigner111 1 month ago
As we try to continue the practice of infinite growth, poverty increases and wealth concentrates in the hands of fewer people. The amount of people who can afford the basic necessities to live are shrinking, while the costs of energy and life essentials goes up.
Infinite growth is dead. It is running head-long into FINITE resources, and more expensive energy. We're well on our way to a disastrous contraction. Not only is growth dead, we can't even maintain the status quo. it's happening.
campaigner111 1 month ago

Imagine the reaction if there's any shortages, or more increases in energy costs!
campaigner111 1 month ago
@mm7777777 Everybody needs to read your comment, I swear they do!
If people are already stressed and impatient, pushing and shoving, driving eachother off the roads, living for themselves and noone else - if that behavior is happening NOW, while things are still "relatively holding together"....what the hell is going to happen if gasoline goes to $5.00 a gallon, and if people simply can't afford heat or fuel, and have to decide between gasoline or food? Hell, that's happening now!
campaigner111 1 month ago
@mm7777777 I try to tell people, look around you NOW. Look at how we behave at this moment in time. ANY type of shortage or inconvenience to our way of life, and you'll see previously "civilized and rational" people completely cave in. You already see it.
Jesus, I see fights break out now in stores because someone can't use a coupon for an item on sale, or something is sold out, they go nuts. If THAT sets them off, what the hell are those people going to do when a real emergency happens?

Yeah, I'm picking on the USA because I don't think people get just how much energy we use and abuse for our own convenience and consumption. All the things we think make America "great" are actually what is pulling us down. The amount of energy needed to produce fast food, from the farming, transportation, heat, processing, is STAGGERING. Our energy consumption comes from our culture wanting everything at its fingertips whenever and wherever. Problem is it's not sustainable. It will collapse.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111 Does your views on an unsustainable system apply to things like Public education, national health care, welfare, and other such GOV programs. Which for the most part set the standard in in waste???
The average wage in China is about $4,000 a year. Would you support the lowering of the minimum wage as a means to limit energy use?
CSATexan 2 months ago
@CSATexan No. The problem is that we have to change the whole paradigm. And we're at a point where it's going to be changed FOR US whether we like it or not. The world's economy depends on infinite growth. I.E. consuming more next year than this year. Food is a prime example of how its produced and consumed as a commodity. The US throws away 42,000 tons of eatable food a year, restaurants, etc. It makes NO sense to be feeding the poor with charity and then throwing away as much as we do!
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111
The US has no control over the worlds economy, And very little control over our own.
But it seems you are putting the wagon before the horse. The economy does not depend on consumption but on production.
CSATexan 2 months ago
The USA only has about 300 million people, yet we're #1 in energy abuse and consumption. We consume more energy than CHINA and they have four times our popluation!!! We're a wasteland, consumption juggernaut. Dunkin Donuts, McDonalds, and Walmarts every half mile is the reason why. Priveledge and convenience come at a cost. The great American traditions are also enormous energy consumers. We're the worst ones of ALL. It takes energy and lots of it to have a Starbucks every fity feet!
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111
There are a bunch of political philosophies that proclaim they will feed the poor. Yet you condemn McDoanlds for feeding the poor?
CSATexan 2 months ago
@CSATexan Oh, c'mon man, work with me here! I'm not condemning Mcd's for feeding the poor! I'm condemning an infinite growth paradigm based on every-increasing consumption! The problem with Mcdonals's is not what its ethics are toward the poor, but that is EXISTS at all! At the same time McD's feeds the poor, it throws away tons of food after the half-hour alarm expires. Then it sprays those tons of food with chemicals so that noone can go in the dumpster and eat it. It makes no sense!
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111
CSATexan 2 months ago
@CSATexan You're right! And that's the whole point! We overconsume because we CAN. That's the great fault of the human species. Consumption and priveledge. We want our food grown somewhere else. We want everything made somewhere else so we can buy it cheap. We want the work down by someone else so we can consume it cheaply. But that's not sustainable. The signs of civil unrest are already all around us. But people seem not to care.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@CSATexan You bring up a great point. The US consumes because it can, for the sake of consuming it. We have a money based world in which those who have the money can consume as much as they want. But our self-proclaimed rights to as much as we want is not sustainable. Only one reason the US consumes more energy than anyone else on earth. Because we think we're entitled to it, it's a "freedom". Until that thinking changes, we're in big trouble. We're already in big trouble.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111
CSATexan 2 months ago

Simple.
This show isn't fantasy.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
@campaigner111 there is one major difference between human and the rest of nature... we are conscious...
DrKillaser 2 months ago
@DrKillaser Again, you are missing the point. Doesn't matter if we are "higher" beings, or if we have a conscious. We ARE NOT unique with regard to the fact that we are still at the mercy of the laws of energy and physics. We still die without heat, food, and water. Human beings are no safer from collapse than any other species. No amount of consciousness or intelligence makes us immune from the vulnerabilities that have wiped out other species. Especially our dependence on technology.

Modern society lives close to the edge every day.
campaigner111 2 months ago

NO population, be it bacteria in a dish, or a herd of deer, have EVER had a population spike like ours without suffering a contraction and die-off.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
We are trapped in an oil paradigm. Oil is used in everything that makes the industrialized world run. It's not about gasoline only, oil is in plastics, food, farming, transportation, cattle, crops, vehicles. 1,000 gallons of oil in EVERY car built. 7 galllons of oil in EVERY tire.
When people say new technologies will save us, they don't understand that it STILL requires oil to build electric cars, nuclear plants, clean coal plants, etc.You can't just "switch" to a new energy like that.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
Economic and energy collapse are more likely every day, because less and less people are able to afford energy and all the things we buy made possible by energy.
Take one look at the costs of groceries and a hundred other products made from oil, all plastics, food, clothing, tires, you name it. Oil runs it all. We EAT oil. Every calorie of food consumed takes ten times that amount in energy to bring that food to your mouth.
Cheap oil runst it all. We are HIGHLY vulnerable.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
The reason this show should scare the hell out of everyone is not because it's some wild far fetched plot or theory.
It's because the world right now is already having huge difficulty affording the energy needed to keep eveything going as is, never mind future GROWTH.The world is living by INFINITE GROWTH principles based on cheap, plentiful energy.Energy is no longer cheap, and it is becoming more expensive to extract.Growth will be impossible, and maintaining what we have near impossible.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
Good news is that the world will never run out of oil. We wont get that far. Peak oil is NOT about running out of oil. It's about the point at which oil costs more to extract and produce than is profitable. We're almost at that point now.
It's really simple. How much energy do you have to invest vs. how much energy do you get in return? Oil companies have to USE energy to GET energy, and the moment it costs more to get a barrel of oil from the ground than you can sell it for, it's over.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
The signs are all around us that oil is peaking, and that energy is becoming more difficult to obtain and more expensive to consume. You are seeing it in the cost of everything from plastics, food, to fuel, and services. There are no elite conspiracies or greed to explain why energy costs are soaring. Companies large and small are paying more for energy and so have to charge more for what they produce. There is no way around this.

THAT'S the point. This was one little glitch with electricity in CT.What if it was something REALLY serious?
campaigner111 2 months ago
The trouble is, when our own personal lives are going well, and we have technology at our fingertips, we can go to the movies, drive our car...we FEEL like we're safe from any kind of collapse. It's a classic case of false sense of security.
We become delusional in the face of being surrounded by modern conveniences, being able to drive barely a few miles to a store full of food, etc.
That whole system we depend on every day is EXTREMELY vulnerable to collapse. We just don't see it.
campaigner111 2 months ago
The more complex and the more the modern industrialized world becomes dependent on technology to grow our food, fuel our cars and heat our homes, run our computers, run our cell phones, medicate us, etc. etc....... by definition that same civilization is made all the more vulverable to collapse.
Complex systems are made more susceptible to failure each time a new technology is introduced. One would think it would be the other way around. But it is not.
campaigner111 2 months ago
As a matter of fact, there is a great irony in the belief that alot of Americans have, which is that technology and modern living make us immune from collapse, that Rome was more vulnerable because it didn't have the techology we do.
This is WRONG. It is exactly the OPPOSITE! The MORE technology and the more complex a society or empire becomes, the MORE fragile it is, the more vulnerable it is.Simply because the more complex a civilization is, the more things that can break down.
Simple.
campaigner111 2 months ago
Collapses of Empires and nations are NOT conspiracy theory! At one time Rome thought that its own collapse was impossible. The French Empire thought it would never collapse. The Mayan Empire thought it would never collapse.
They all collapsed. This is FACT. Civilations fail. Empires contract and fall. Upheaval HAPPENS!
What is this mentality in America that somehow we're immune from all of this? What makes us so special or unique? That's the point. We are NOT immune. It can happen to us.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111 There are reasons for the failures of these nations and Empires. It doesn't happen out of thin air. The Founders made pretty clear of that. The only way we can survive as a nation is everybody contribute into preserving this nation, stay informed stay educated. The evil elite makes a nation crumble and they rely on the stupidity of men. As Ben Franklin said "We gave you a Republic, now keep it" We are special and unique only if we follow that rule and moral guideline.
Jacoby515 2 months ago
@Jacoby515 Yes, but that's the problem. It doesn't happen out of thin air. There are specific conditions that nations are susceptable to, no matter what the plans of the elites are and what they try to do.
Energy and currency crises are what have proceeded every collapse of every Empire. That and outstripping of resources. You want to hear something scary about Rome? Their collapse was proceeded by currency devaluation and soil degradation.
That is precisely what is happening in the USA.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
People focus too much on global warming, the elites, and on trying to debunk the conspiracy theorists.
It is no theory that nations and Empire are vulnerable to energy shortages, economic collapses, and nations tend not to learn from the past.
The problem with a nation like the US is that it believes that technology can overturn the laws of energy and physics.
No amount of education, technology, or innovation can overturn the laws of energy and the universe.
We are vulnerable.
campaigner111 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
@Jacoby515 I agree that the elites have their own plans for survival. But that's kind of the point. The elites know how vulnerable the world is with regard to energy, overpopulation, and finite resources. THEY are preparing for their own well being, and they know the danger the rest of the world is in.
No amount of morals, education, or innovation is going to protect us from the laws of finite resources. The signs are all around us that the energy crisis is here, but people don't notice.

zeldagamerDX6 3 months ago
exactly , if you have played fallout 3 you will know how to survive in the wilderness, deciding to be a raider is not a good option unless you decide to be evil before trying to survive in good ways , raiders also live in poorly conditions and tend to eat eachother in the end.

ROFL....the best thing to do is to buy a motorcycle and avoid the free ways during disasters like this...because the retards are going to block the roads and jam freeways
you're not gonna get far by foot.
or if you can buy a small plane and hire a pilot.

Maloney001 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
@Maloney001 Exactly...it's made all the more disturbing that people in the modern world think that human beings are sophisticated and that technology will save us from the laws of the universe. People are ALREADY struggling to survive, even in the more powerful nations like the US. Energy costs are slowly strangling millions. Food costs are strangling millions. We are NOT AS FAR from collapse as we would like to think.
Much of the rest of the world is already starving and on the fringe.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@Maloney001 There is pratically noone in the US or industrialized world who is prepared for any kind of serious economic or energy collapse. Noone. People think new energies and new technologies will save us from ourselves. Wrong. We are a species living as if resources are limitless, even while they are shrinking. Nobody seems to pay attention. But the signs of our system being strained to breaking point are all around us. Nobody seems to care.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111 you're right. People are more deluded and in denial than ever.
duckotaco 2 months ago
@duckotaco Thanks for your comments, it's good to know there's other out there who are aware of this and actually recognize how serious this is and how vulnerable we are!
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111 apart from the fact that the general IQ collapsed in the last ten years. So much for the amount of new ways to gain knowledge. Most people did NOT take advantage of the great new possibilities. This civilization is a WASTE.
duckotaco 2 months ago
@duckotaco Well said, indeed! We're a species convinved that we can grow and multiply infinitely while consuming endlessly. Anyone doing the math can see it's an equation that doesn't add up! Peak, contraction, and crash are a certainty.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111
What group would you say is the guiltiest of of multiplying indefinitely?
Here is a hint. Bin Laden had about 20 kids.
CSATexan 2 months ago in playlist After Armageddon
@CSATexan Uhhhh, ok. Look man, the WHOLE human species is to blame for this! Jesus, don't go singling out one muslim family. Yeah, maybe China and India and other places have abused it, but the WHOLE species has abused it.
And while you're trying to pin over-population and energy issues on muslims, here's a thought for you that should get people thinking:
The United States only has 5% of the world's population, yet we use 25% of the worlds's energy!!!! What does that tell you?
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111
It tells me that you are more than willing to look the other way at other peoples reckless behavior. Even if it results in an unsustainable population
CSATexan 2 months ago
@CSATexan Oh, quite the opposite! I'm just a messenger, that's all I am. I SEE what's happening and what the world is headed for, but most people can't believe or refuse to believe it. I've heard Americans actually say that "we're blessed by God, so we'll be saved". It's insanity. All I'm doing is observing what's happening, and Iive my live personally in a way that I can sustain myself and have a chance to survive. What else can we do? It's too late to fix it, we're past it.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@CSATexan No, I don't look the other way at all. But I also correctly assert that the earth is in a consumption paradigm that it can longer reverse. It's too late. The time to have changed the way energy is consumed was 30 years ago. Now it's WAY too late. Technology and alternative energies won't help. Too little, too late. All we can do ourselves is live and consume as little as possible and not abuse it. Live in a sustainable way so we can survive this somehow. Detatch from the paradigm.
campaigner111 2 months ago
@campaigner111
I am sure that a war will soon solve most of those problems.
