she may seem to be a bit heavy with the drama but id probably be shitting bricks too if a car lost control like that and almost ended up in my car. you all would probably be the same too.
DAMN. The video quality is hella nice. It's almost like looking through a brand new pair of glasses or contacts. And hella lucky too. My cars breaks probably would've failed on me and killed me.
He was real lucky, this happened to me 2 weeks ago, I wasnt so lucky. I was going about 50-55 mph on a rainy day on the highway when I went to merge onto another lane my car hit a puddle hydroplanned & completley spun out causing me to face oncoming traffic. I swear i saw my life flash before my eyes, when I was facing oncoming traffic I saw a load of cars bullet out infront of me, a semi thankfully avoided me but a white SUV hit me headon, the airbag is the scariest, you dont know its coming.
did he a water puddle & hydroplane? looks like he was going a little too fast for the conditions...glad all went well for you but i don't pity him or all the other stupid & careless drivers. good defensive driving on your part and i guess the drivers behind you too since none of them hit you. paying attention to the road will keep you alive and keep you insurance rates low...should have got out and gave this guy some pointers!!
@navyguyhm3 I dont think he was going to fast it looks like everyone was going at a cautious speed however once you hit a puddle the car hydroplanes and you lose all control of the car, every wheel becomes like a bar of soap, its almost impossible to keep control unless your traveling below 15 mph. Remember water on a highway rushes down from left to right which is why the roads have a convex curve to them, the water builds up more in the last left and right lanes, the middle is alot dryer.
Your reaction is normal if you have never been in “a close one” or actual accident--I have been in several. Get to the nearest exit, find safe place to park and get out of the car and walk around it. Sit in the car with door open and or cry, but get adrenalin out of your system before getting back on the road. You dealt with what happened perfect and did not become part of the accident too. It is a shock the first time or two, but you will be ok.
Even if the audio was good on this, it would still be a horrible video. Talk about a freak out.
