  • Its jam to look at, so... F@&K the audio claimers

  • look it up on vodpod, it has audio :)

  • As others are saying, all videos of the song Half Breed is disabled, except two. These are either in a foreign language by a person who is not Cher, or a very poor quality live show. It is almost as if they are deliberately are trying get people to listen to these, these alone. All involved should be blacklisted from all business, and driven to Iran where their kind live.

  • I've clicked on about six videos of this song and they've all been banned! :(

  • Cheapskates disabled the audio. What paranoia!

  • wats wrong with her right foot

  • The song tells the story of a young woman who is half white and half Cherokee. The song describes the troubles she faced, and the way she experienced racism. White people often called her "Indian squaw" and the Native Americans never accepted her because they told her that she was "white by law." (Cher herself is part-Cherokee.)

  • I think the whole point of the song is to demonstrate the point of view of a person who is caught in between two cultures and feels they don't have anywhere to belong. I'm quite sure NO-ONE in tribal meetings calls anyone a sqauw - just as no one in any local government would call a woman a b*tch or a c*nt. It's a vulgar expression for a woman - and the lyrics of the song never indicate that any Cherokee called Cher a sq*uw, it's says the "The White Man always called me "Indian Squaw"

  • I love this song and Cher was so freakin hot.

  • You GO CHER! We LOVE YA!

  • Um... wow. Just wow. I am amazed at the amount of fail in this song.

Plains headdress, pacific northwest totem pole, the headdress is a fake and the real ones would only be worn by warrior never with such disrespect, and of course there's the use of the words half-breed and squaw, the latter of which is akin to calling someone a c*nt.

Fail. Just plain old racist fail. I know she was supposed to be part Native American but the video is so inconceivably racist!

  • hey radiofan6872 , who are you? Have you ever met Cher in person? You seem quite racist & you are totally wrong in your rude and unintelligent comments. Sounds like you have a personal vengence. What did Cher ever do to you for you to have such a mean outlook? God bless you and have mercy on your black heart.

  • No, I've never met Cher in person. I assure you that I'm not being racist or rude here, and I most certainly don't have anything personal against a woman I've never met.

I am not being mean, I am merely pointing out that in my extensive studies of Native American culture and people, I have come to learn some things that she obviously didn't. Namely, that what she has included in her video isdownright racist.

Don't be pointing fingers and making accusations at me, I'm not doing anything wrong.

  • It's just that the use of an item that is considered sacred in a way (the headband) should be for truly ceremonial purposes. And as a half breed, I can say that NO ONE calls a native american woman squaw, it's just so very vulgar and offensive. As a person of native american heritage I find the unhonoured use of the headress offensive, and the lewd attire she wears in the video helps along stereotypes against my fellow native american women.

I do like the song though, the video is incorrect.

  • Yeah, I actually am part native american ( cherokee and chipawa) and NO-ONE in the tribal meetings calls anyone "squaw". It's just so disrespectful. And so is her lewd dress along with the esteemede headress, just so innaprpriate. but the song is good, and maybe they just didn't do a whole lot of research.

  • Cher Is Amazing At THis Song :)

Shania Twain Sings It, But Not Very Good

  • my father's half breed,peace

  • celine dion...comes to mind when i see this video...cher and her kinda look alike....

  • Cher is so fricking hot here!!!

  • i'm a half breed!! i take no shit from nobody!

  • I'm halfbreed too & like you I take no shit from no one.

  • LOL. Go both of you!

  • LOL

  • I love how she keeps time with her right foot! Damn but that's sexy as hell!!

  • oh yeah - i never noticed that!

  • She did that intentionally! Unlikely she woulda stopped before the song was through. It was a wink -- "I know you know It's lip synched" from Cher.

I've seen other singers do the same thing.

    Ya hay dere, cri!

  • She's lipsynching in this clip. She stops singing before the music stops playing. Just an observation. She's a talented singer and I love her but that was just something I noticed. :P

  • Back in the really early days of video, they often did lip synching to get a good video without worrying about screwing up the song trying to do take after take or the performer not being able to sing say while riding a horse as Cher is in this one-not an easy task I'm sure.

So don't blame Cher or put her down, it was just common then and probably now even is used and you don't notice.

  • o i wasnt trying to put her down. i think she's amazing. and i know they used to do that to get a good music video. they still do that now. i was just pointing out that the music ran a little too long and went on after she stopped.. making it more noticeable. obviously it wasn't her fault, it was the fault of the people playing the song.

  • I LOVE CHER SHE IS SO HOT!!!!
